    Santa!
    Mary T.

I dropped by Burnsville Center after having lunch nearby the other day. I had never been to this mall before. I decided to check out Macy's and also ended up at Games by James. This mall looks sad when you walk around. It felt like this mall has seen better days. The pandemic probably made things worse. I looked at Lenscrafters tucked in a corner. Stores that used to be in this short wing were closed for good. It was the case as you browsed. Macy's, Old Navy, and JC Penney are your main anchor stores at this mall. Most of the larger restaurants, such as Applebee's, and Noodles & Company, are on the other side of the mall, kind of separate from it. They must have been developed well after this mall as first established. Macy's seemed to be alive and kicking. There were many customers shopping there. There was a place where kids can get photos with Santa on the first floor, near Macy's. I saw something like twelve elves helping two kids with their photos and then they all went away. It was weird. My highlight was finding Games by James on the first floor. Going into this store felt like a normal shopping experience that you'd expect. There were many customers, and everything that I was looking at was fun and fascinating. I feel like this mall is still stuck in the 80's and hasn't grown with the times. It needs help and I hope that things get better with more stores setting up shop. It would be a shame to see this mall close for good. (486)

I remember coming here for all my holiday shopping and hanging out with friends. At least there's still stores here worth coming for and a few places to grab some good grub. They really need to get rid of all those stains on the carpet on the second floor though. Yuck. I REALLY miss having FYE here though...that's where I bought 90% of my movies!

I would not drop your kids off by themselves here. I have heard reports of kidnapping here. I talked to some mall employees and they tell me that it is easy and convenient to get right on the freeway is why this place seems to be a target. The food court in this mall is scetchy. You can do yourself a favor by eating at Applebee's, Lucky 13 or Panera instead of the risky food inside. This mall is small and easy to get in and out if you have something quick that you want to do.

Pretty much your average shopping mall. Conveniently off the freeway where 35E and 35W split. Lots of stores, decent food court, and restaurants and movie theater nearby. On a funny note, this ground floor could almost be mistaken for a car dealership! There are probably at least a dozen cars spread throughout the mall!

All in all a good little mall to go hang out at to get away from the four walls of my living space.

However; I also love coming randomly throughout the year to get updated clothing items. I typically like to check out under Armour and Nike, the Columbia store also has a separate outlet location as well. Recently, I feel like prices haven't been nearly as good as they used to, but in this economy, who can blame them. I would love to see a little bit more variation in the food court, it's mostly Asian cuisines and Cinnabon. All delicious but would love to see some more options. There's a ton of parking, but if you come on a busy weekend, you may not notice and still have to park far away. Bummed to see some recent retailers, leaving, they've been replaced with stores that my opinion were is great. Overall, a decent shopping trip, it's also in a great location. There's plenty of other stores/eating nearby. I recommend checking out the Twin Cities premium outlets if you haven't been there before.

It's nearly identical to the Aurora Outlet mall back home in Illinois so navigating this building felt like I was back home. There weren't any outdoor vendors, maybe they'll be there in the summer. There was ample amount of parking and a great variety of stores where you could find half of them at the Mall of America itself. This mall is very clean without any riff raff from my visit here. Not the best selection of restaurants from the food court

If you're down to scrounge, this place might be for you (I'd just urge you to wash your hands after). That said, I specifically went here today because I needed a stapler. Mine went missing when I moved (probably in some box I've yet to unpack in my storage unit), and there's zero need to purchase a brand new stapler when I know I can get an old reliable Swingline from a thrift place like this (plus, I remembered on my first amble through here that they had a whole basket of staplers). Sure enough, I was able to acquire a stapler. But you can bet your ass that I brought along some staples to test out said staplers... the first one I picked up had a busted spring, but the second was fully functional. Both had been priced at $3. I mention this simply as a word of warning to consider testing before you buy.) I also picked up a bobbin thread case and a quart sized bag of crayons (both priced at $3) while I was there. This place is good for finding the kind of craft stuff your granny would keep around at a low price. And honestly, you're doing the environment a BIG favor to snag this kind of thing off a thrift store shelf rather than "convenience buy" it off Amazon or whatever. You can save money and feel good about yourself. The rest of the store has stuff like glassware, clothing, kids stuff, and holiday decor. It's not all amazing stuff. I reckon a lot of folks donate stuff they don't care to sort through when an elderly parent finally kicks it. The employee behind the checkout counter was a little slow to bother acknowledging me, but once we were interacting, they were friendly enough and wished me a good day; seemed like they were happy I actually bought something instead of just browsing.

A bit embarrassing but I'll own it. I've gotten so many people to join Costco because I talk about it so much. I love everything there. You can buy groceries, household items and even clothing. I like the regular items I go back for every week but also love that they continually change it up. I always take advantage of the sales. I only get gas at Costco, it feels safer than a regular gas station. Usually not too bad of a wait when I go. Great customer service. Great return policy. Wish there were more costcos around! They get so busy.

"How can you have any pudding if you don't eat your meat?" (Pink Floyd)…read more Guess what, Pink Floyd? I skipped the meat entirely and went straight for the tiramisu pudding cake! Let me be clear: I spent zero dollars on this cake. A coworker brought it in, I was hungry, and my blood sugar was issuing ultimatums. So I did what any reasonable adult would do when faced with a huge mascarpone-laden cake sitting in the break room -- I grabbed a slice. Maybe two. I'm not here to answer questions. Now I would say that the Kirkland Signature tiramisu round cake is technically a "scoop pudding cake." This is a polite way of saying Costco fully expects you to abandon all dignity and eat this thing directly from the container with a serving spoon at 2am on a Tuesday. Is this an authentic Italian tiramisu? No. This is the 48-roll, bulk paper towel interpretation of tiramisu. It's not going to be the best you've had by a long shot. And yet... there are rumors of people eating it in the Costco parking lot to destroy the evidence before going home. I choose to believe these heroes walk among us. Some reviewers complain about the lack of rum or whiskey. To them I say: be the change you wish to see. Drizzle some on your plate, let it soak in, and suddenly you're much better equipped to deal with Bill Lumbergh and his TPS reports. You're welcome. Overall, this cake is a little light on flavor and about as authentic as a gondola ride in a shopping mall. But as a mid-workday snacky snack, it gets the job done. It's light, it's easy, and--crucially--it doesn't make you feel like you need to lie down under your desk immediately afterward. Bottom line: We don't need no education. We DO need more tiramisu. I paid nothing, ate twice, and I'd do it again.
