Sadly, this place is in a downward spiral. They create a certain kind of buying experience that most people aren't willing to put up with unless they are desperate to sell their clothes. Then you just get cheap brands in poor condition in the store. Which in turn affects the people who are willing to shop and sell their clothes here. And so downwards spiral continues. And at the same time, while their clothes are getting worse, their prices are getting higher. It's sad to see because this used to be such a great place to find certain items, like holiday dresses. Not anymore . To fix this downward spiral, they need to start with getting good sellers back in. When you have to bring in one bin at a time and every bin requires two visits to the store, it's such a pain. If I have five bins of high-quality children's clothing, it would take 10 visits to the store to sell them!!!! I recommend making it possible to sell by appointment, or some sort of "save my place in line" kind of thing, so somebody with multiple bins can get it all done at once. Also, don't require them to come back. Just donate the stuff they don't want. Fix those two things and you'll have much better inventory than a hurry. read more

We had military added to our account so I wouldn't have to bring in my husbands ID at another location we go to frequently and when I went to check out I only had my husbands active id from when he served in my phone and she told me she couldn't take it because it's expired and I'm waiting on my spousal ID from the VA since we just got married a couple months ago and my husband can't respond until he's off of work and I drove 25 minutes to this one and waisted my time. read more

I used to love this location but in the last year, prices have really skyrocketed. Several times, we have found toys (second -hand) that are priced at or even more than you would currently pay brand new (I've checked). Additionally, they don't accept as much as they used to because they "have limited space" ( maybe because merch isn't moving since it is priced like brand new retail?) and I have started going to another store, where they take 90-95% of our stuff. I feel like I have been completely manipulated in dealing with Once Upon a Child. I waited in line prior to opening and was number 4 to drop of clothes. They would only allow one bucket of items even though I had filled up a car load. This information does not seem to be published anywhere. Then it takes them nearly the entire day to look through one small bucket of clothes. They text me towards the end of the day, which does not give me time (because I have to take care of my kids) to get back before they close. I arrive the next day only to be informed that they can no longer give me cash for the clothes because I was not able to make it in the night before in the very short window they allowed. It takes them an entire day to sort through a few pieces of clothing, and then they have the audacity to tell me I'm too late to receive payment for the clothes I went out of my way to drop off. Pathetic. Companies like this are a prime reason our country is heading off a cliff. Deceit, greed, unrealistic policies, topped off by absolutely rude customer service. I love this store. The service here is great! I have sold with them often. The staff are always very informative and kind explaining the process of selling. They are usually done within a few hours and have always delivered on their same day promise. My children and I also love shopping in the store. It's usually well organized and stocked with really cool toys my kids love. I love finding all of the name brand at a fraction of the cost! They barely acknowledged me, spoke in a condescending tone, and acted like they were doing me a favor by even looking at the items I brought in. No explanation, no politeness, just cold indifference and snarky attitudes. While the clothes are neatly organized, and I'd have to say, very "reasonably" priced- the atmosphere of this place is enough to lose my business. The store is filthy- just take a look around. The checkout area looks like a swarm of demonic toddlers had their way and ran amuck amongst their inventory and cash out area. The bathroom wreaked of sewer and mold. The floor is so cluttered with product, it took my wife and I a good while to find a place to start and focus on products to actually shop. Aside from the clothes, a-lot of the products were dirty, damaged and not worthy of being on any sales floor. There was a pair of shoes that had gum on the bottom of them that they were asking $18 for. Sorry, not okay. And the STAFF.. when I visited last, there was a young woman wearing see-through pants that I could not believe. There was nothing left to the imagination. She was very excited it seemed, as she yell-spoke to every customer and did so quickly and in a dismissive tone. I did not interact with her, but my wife and I watched her as we were waiting in line to check out. She'd almost cut people off when speaking to them, then immediately when the interaction was done would go back to her coworker and gossip about personal issues that we could hear about. I know a-lot about this persons life now. She was very rude and tacky. The other workers are also off putting and do not take a moment to welcome you in nor do they offer any assistance while shopping. Just not great customer service on any front. If the store was to improve, id give them a second chance. But as of now, I suggest an alternate location of OUAC. read more

I've come here before with clothes around the same sizes for my daughter and they give me cash for it and I come again with the same clothes same size but now all they wanna do is give you store credit they forced you to stay in their store and buy things instead of giving you the cash and I came in early when they open three hours later I had to physically go there to see if my stuff is ready. 2024 update: I've continuously tried giving this location chance after chance because I know what it once was 5 years ago. Yesterday, I was disappointed to hear the staff talking badly about customers behind the counter. Very unprofessional & rude. There's a few teenager girls who work there that really try to be helpful. But there is an older woman who is constantly scolding the staff IN FRONT OF CUSTOMERS. I'm officially done with this place. I can't wait for kid to kid to reopen!! DO NOT SHOP HERE! 2022: This used to be an absolute gold mine for great quality and good deals! Over the last 3 months it has really went downhill. As I've started shopping for baby items I've realized how expensive it can be, especially for items that you'll only be using or wearing for a couple of months. We've been slowly getting items we need and this is has been a good spot to come check out every couple of weeks to see what they have in inventory. I've had bad experiences at other locations but wanted to give this one a try as it's close to where I live. Took in some clothes and the girls already seemed bothered, saying the wait is gonna be a few hours and definitely won't be done until 6 (we took them in around 2:45) we said that was fine and she seemed upset that we said that. Mind you they said they had a lot to sort but we're going through maybe one tote bag. We come back after getting a text maybe an hour later saying our stuff is done. We went in told us they could only offer 7$ and then said they didn't want to take the rest due to it being inside out. There was one pair of jeans that were inside out. Overall not a good place rude employees who don't wanna do the job they signed up do to which is sort clothes. Don't waste your time at any of the locations, they give you a long wait just to lowball you and waste your time. read more

I was so disappointed by this store owner today. I have been supporting her business for over 8 years, selling my daughter's clothes and/or buying at this kids consignment store. Today, the store was as empty as I've ever seen it (with customers or clothes to sort out). I asked the attendant who was helping me, if I could get cash instead of a store credit, especially when everything I had was coats and boots, which they were wanting for cash. So from the back, the owner says she'll be done in the next 30 min. I drive away and less than 15 min later, I get a text saying I could come back to the store. I was rather surprised it went so quick. I get there and the attendant who helped me earlier proceeds to tell me, that they were not buying any of my items, because everyone one of them had some kind of stains. What?!? I always wash everything before I bring it in and if they look bad, I don't. So I start looking at the first item in my container and we see no stains. So the attendant says "Well, I didn't sort your items, so I don't know!". Of course, the owner was conveniently out, when I got back, so she wouldn't have to confront me about her lies. If you don't want to buy my stuff, just say so, don't try to make me feel about it and totally leave all my items in disarray in the bin, when I had them neatly folded.. Needless to say, I am never going back to this sad little store and you shouldn't either, especially if you dare ask for cash, instead of a store credit... I came in with a tote of 2t-5t clothes just to be told that my tote was "too big" and that they would except it this time, but not next time. I come out all this way just to be disrespected and have them not buy hardly any of the clothes I brought,keep in mind they are in very good condition. When I came to get the clothes that they hardly bought from,my tote was tipped upside down and once again, the lady was so disrespectful to me. And this is not the first time that I have brought something there, there was one time I brought clothes in a box and they made a point to say that they will not buy anything that comes out of a box. Everytime I go in to sell I question why I did. There are so many rules, they only pay cash for certain items, the rest is store credit. I bring in stuff that yes my kids have used but a lot better off than some of the things I see for sale, and then they don't take my stuff! The newest rule, you can only bring 1 box, not the usual 2. I don't know how else to describe this place beyond how I do it to my wife consistently - a dramatic and delusional sense of self-importance. I have watched my wife (I've done it too), call ahead and see if they are buying used kid's clothes at pennies on the dollar on whichever day they wake up and decide to actually do so, only to have her drive for to be told they aren't buying. She can have them organized by color, type of clothes and age, and they will inform you they need to be laid flat and in a clear box. They will excoriate you for "folding clothes" that are laid flat as per their absurd instructions that they give you when you arrive. You can drop off clothes when they open and they will call you back at 7:30 at night with your absurdly low quote and if you do not drop everything to make it there by the time they close - sorry, you're shit out of luck. One would think a business servicing families with young children would "allow" them to come in the next morning. The girl said the policy was after 7:00, if they contact you, then you may come in the next day. How sweet of them. However, we heard from the absurd Karen on the phone behind her that "policy has changed" and now if they call you anytime up until 7:30 at night you must drop everything you are doing and speed over to listen to The Karen inform you of the $3.69 she plans on paying you for 65 pounds of brand name baby clothes. Truly, stupid "policies", designed by someone with a delusional sense of self-importance. I get that working at this establishment is akin to a MARSOC operator downrange in Afghanistan as far as stress levels go, but I've never been more annoyed at the absolute pettiness and lack of awareness demonstrated by a glorified Goodwill with limited inventory or a big never-ending garage sale. Oh, and don't go in when they are having an "event" like selling nothing but sports clothes or purple sweaters randomly one day, then they are simply far too busy to accommodate purchasing your child's clothes for nice crisp Abe Lincoln, because they need to sell 25 used items of clothing and THAT dear readers must be a call for a nice bottle of Maddog 20/20 to wash away the PTSD endured from the battlefield of sorting 150 pink or blue onesies in a day. I should contact the V.A. to let them know about these brave and able warriors. USMC, USAF, US Army, USCG, USN, United States Space Force - and Once Upon a Child. Great idea, incredibly poor execution (I use this term loosely). If you must go to one of these, go to the one in Littleton. It's run far better from what I've seen. I wouldn't use this store to purchase clothing at because the prices seem a little high for used clothing. Most of the prices were $5-8.00 per piece and I know you could probably purchase new at Old Navy for the same. I would however recommend this store for bouncy chairs, kids shoes, and toys. I got a great deal on a bouncy chair for my infant. Normal $65 in store and got it for $20.00. It was definitely worth saving the money for an item that is only used for a few months. I wouldn't recommend selling or buying your children's clothes here. The employees are only trained to examine the season and year of clothing. They do not know brands nor what higher end stores carry. I brought in stain free, current clothing from high end clothiers such as Hannah Anderson, Tea Collection and Lands End. Most of the items were in near new condition and were rejected. They claim to only buy items within the 5 year limit, but bought a pair of new shoes that were over 10 years old. As for the condition of their inventory, I would say it is poor. The quality of the garments for size 6 and up was poor and the prices did not match the quality. Parents are better off perusing clearance sections or going to stores like TJ Maxx if they want affordable children's clothing. read more

This place is definitely a rip off. They will give you $5 for five pairs of clothing, then turn around and sell them for $5 or more a piece. I see toys that are marked over $25, and I can bet they only paid the person $5 for it. I understand they need to make a profit. However that is a huge profit. Especially since we are the ones to help keep the business supplied. I would think a little more could be given to those that are keeping the store open. I love this place and really don't understand the negative reviews. I have purchased the vast majority of my kids' clothing here for the past 2 years. It's great especially for kids up to age 5/6...I can't speak to the selection for older kids. It's a used clothing store, so yes, sometimes the selection is better than others. But that's to be expected and I have definitely gone in and bought an entire wardrobe for 2 kids in one visit before. Also a great place to get snow clothes and Halloween costumes. I've found great toys here before as well. I have also had good experiences selling clothing back here - and I appreciate getting the choice between cash and store credit. If you care about sustainability and supporting local businesses, I'm a fan of OUAC and this location in particular! read more
