I was just in this location and was so impressed by how organized it is. I frequent both this location and Hyde park. It was clear that the staff spent some serious time over the holidays organizing the flow of the store. It made shopping (especially in the toy section) SO much easier. I also really appreciate that they make me aware of any deals when entering the store and any discounts available to me when I check out. I like the staff here. They are always busy, but remain helpful when I ask questions or come in with boxes of donations. read more

This location is a bit of a mixed bag. On one hand, by their own admission, they are extremely picky when it comes to what they buy. This is supposed to be so they may bring the highest quality used goods, at the best price. On the other hand, not a visit goes by that I don't find items with holes, stains or missing part of the set. Sometimes I wonder if those items slip by, because they are buying from people they know. That means they have to be pickier with everyone else. I generally find it better to buy at Once Upon A Child then to sell. I have found some amazing deals! Especially when they are having special sales. There is also a clearance section for each size. They usually do special rollouts when seasons change, or for special occasions like Halloween. I have always received decent customer service at this location. On sale days this location gets crazy. On my last visit, the line snaked through the store. There is a rewards program. The Cincinnati stores and the Dayton store are linked. Their sale days are usually the same. Occasionally a store will have a stand alone sale, but that is rare. The Northern Kentucky stores are not on the same sale schedules. Rewards may not be redeemed on clearance merchandise. read more

First time in the store in a very long time! We were cleaning out our house and my wife said we had a few classics so see what I could get. From past experiences the offers were a joke so I preferred to donate the items or give them away to our church to give to the needy. They only took 2 items and said the other items were dated or not in style or dont sell there. I was given 5.70. I am sure they are selling the items for a lot more. If you are selling items dont waste your time there. If you are buying you might be able to get reasonable prices. The store looked dirty. They were planning clearance sale in a few days. Turnover is the name of their game. There are many of these stores around. read more

The selection of clothing, toys, books, and baby/kid furniture is great! You can't beat the sale prices and can buy a lot of items for little cost. Also, the staff is really kind and great about reminding upcoming or current deals. Highly recommend this location! read more

This is the worse store for selling items back to them. It's okay if you are selling gently used children clothing back to them, but if you are selling brand new children clothes, toys, shoes, etc. It's a waste of your time and money. On their website it states they pay 30 to 50 percent of what the item costs brand new. Liars! They do not! And at the Colerain, Ohio location Staff are very nasty attitudes and unprofessional. Going forward, I will never go back to the Colerain location. I will continue to sell my baby items online or at the many flea markets that Cincinnati offers. read more

When I'm here to buy clothes, I typically have a good experience. Especially when I spot sales on their FB page. This particular visit was $1 clearance items. Everything with a yellow sticker was one dollar, you seriously cannot beat that. Especially with great brands like Baby Gap, Nike, Reebok, Carters, etc. My usual complaint is that the store is extremely messy, especially in the toy area. It's literally a war zone. However, this time was nice. Every toy had a designated spot. For the first time in the 20+ times I've been in, it was borderline spotless. Well done, finally! The clothes are mostly pretty clean. Just pay attention to detail. However, I have gotten items on the bottom shelf that were filled with dust. When I pointed it out, the associate assured me that they clean often, obviously not. The shoes can be a bit dirty. I'd recommend the Hyde park location for shoes and supplies such as bouncers, strollers, etc. it's usually a bit higher end there. If you want to sell here, you kinda have to have a backbone. Sometimes I feel judged, like my little one's style is horrible. No one wants to hear that their precious little one is outdated. When I walk into the store, I do check whose behind the counter and prepare myself to be judged. Maybe I'm just sensitive? Anyways... they offer okay prices. They sell for super cheap so they buy for even cheaper. Sometimes it's cents on the dollar :( Overall, not bad. I'll continue going because it's close and my little one grows too fast. read more

I'm conflicted about this review. From a consumer standpoint, it's an awesome experience. Tons of great stuff, low prices-- and everything is very clean. The equipment has all been tested and checked for recalls. Babies especially go through clothes and toys so quickly, that most things look basically new. From a seller's point of view, Once Upon a Child gets one star. Waiting for hours to have my stuff evaluated and basically being told my children are unfashionable is hard to take. I went with the buyer's perspective, because most of you will just want to make some fabulous finds. Enjoy! read more

I use to love this store and preferred to shop here. The last two times I was there I found perfect shoes for my daughter. The problem is I found 2 but could not find matches. When I took them to the counter I asked if someone could call me when the others were found and I was told they couldn't do that. That doesn't make any sense to me. Then there is the fact that it is always busy the lines are long but yet there are plenty of workers standing around talking. Oh my and let's talk about prices. There are things they sell in there that you'd be crazy to spend so much money on. Don't get me wrong you can find some really good deals but most of it is over priced! I have found numerous items with original tags but yet they are charging more? Most of us shop here to save money and recently that has not been the case. I will stick with St Vincent DePaul at least I know I'm not being charged $10 for USED kids jeans! read more

Don't sell your stuff here. They'll offer you 50 cents for something then then around and sell it for $5. I asked the lady 3 times how much they were giving me for my items and she kept dancing around the question. They'll do anything not to give you an itemized receipt of what they paid you. I'm glad I only took newborn sizes in. I won't make that mistake with the rest of my baby's clothes. Ebay or Facebook Marketplace is a much better option. read more

I will NEVER sale to this location again. They want to give you half of the cheapest price they can find the item for online. Take your stuff to a different location! Field Ertle has never given me any problems! $32 for a $190 crib? All because they found a different color and styled one with the same name at Walmart online for $140....claiming they could only sale it for $65! I call BS. Worker was beyond rude too! read more

This is the most poorly ran, unprofessional ouac location i have ever visited..its always filthy and your items will not get looked at if they are busy or you're interrupting social hour. Last night i dropped of several lightly used toys (all individually bagged with their accessories..trying to make their job easier knowing how incompetent they are) I was told they would not be ready until the following day..fair enough, they were busy. When i returned they told they wouldn't accept any of my items, but more than happy to take them as donations. They bring them all out to me in a trash bag claiming they are missing pieces. When i open the bag i find that all toys were removed from the bags with their counterparts and all shoved inside one new bag, resulting in, one imaginext station being broken and if i played with them, others probably missing, if not more broken. THANKS OUAC! This place really is a joke. i highly recommend going to the florance or cincinnati location, they may still tell you "no" but at the very least with a smile and a thanks. If this location is your only option..I urge any of you to make a list and take pictures of your items before leaving them in their possession...who knows what will happen. read more

I shopped at Once Upon A Child when my kids were growing up and it saved me a great deal of money. Over the years they have grown and improved. Just this year I became a grandparent, let me just say, shopping for your grandchild is an ADDICTION! Once upon a child allows me to spoil my grandchild without breaking my budget. read more

I stopped in just to see what their selection was like, and I was less than thrilled. The items in the back of the store were piled onto the shelves and the floor, making it difficult to see what was abailable (let alone walk through the aisles). The bigger items didn't look to be in the best condition, and they seemed to be overpriced. I doubt I will be back. read more

AWFUL SERVICE! My mother and I went in there to get my daughter a pack n' play, they failed to tell us that they had just gotten it and it hadn't been clean yet. We had already payed for it and went to take it home. When I went to pull the pad out of the pack n' play, a BEDBUG crawled across the middle and hid under the seem of the pad, so my mother nicely asked the cashier; woman to come here, so she could tell her in private and show her. The woman then rudely says, "It's not a bedbug, you can't see bedbugs with the naked eye, it looks like a nat." But then when she flipped the mat over, there were more! Some dead, but many alive!! She walked over and sprayed the pack n' play with rubbing alcohol and put it right back in its spot for someone else to purchase, after we got our money back. NEVER will I go back to this store! read more

I just returned to this location after a little over a year. I will not be returning. The items they sold used to be priced great and were in decent to great condition. I stopped shopping here because the quality of clothing, I started seeing more stained clothing priced the same as items in great condition. The prices slowly started creeping up but at the time I felt it was cheaper than department stores since my kids were so young they would be outgrowing clothing quickly. Back to todays visit, absolutely nothing in the store was a deal, as a matter of fact, prices were only a few dollars cheaper than buying brand new department store items. A lot of the baby swings, chairs and toys were filthy! Literally like someone trash picked the items and sold them to this location. One item piqued my interest, a Radio Flyer wagon. It was $10 less than retail. Upon closer inspection I noticed one of the folding seats was broken, the canopy was missing and a wheel was really loose..... Not going to buy from here anymore. From a selling standpoint this place is a complete ripoff. I brought in a bunch of bulky items my kids hadnt played with in a long time. All of my items were clean and in excellent condition. I figured I would recieve about $100 by taking off over half of what I originally paid. They offered me $30. Some items include a kids table and chair set that still sells for $50 at Toys R Us, a slide that still sells for $30, 2 riding cars that still sell for $40 each at Walmart and not to mention a lot of other items. What they offered was insulting to say the least. They were so kind as to offer to keep the items they didnt want for "donation". The items they didnt want were in excellent condition and still in retail stores. Why on earth would I "donate" them to this place when I can give them away on Craigslist and know that kids in need will actually get the items. I will donate the items before selling to Once Upon a Child. read more

Well there went two hours I can't get back. The place is filthy and the staff is extremely unprofessional and discourteous. After returning the day after dropping off my things, they yelled at me for not returning earlier (however I never received the call or email they said they'd give me when they were through assessing my stuff). They laughed at me as a struggled to assemble a bouncer - apparently it's not good enough in the box. And even yelled at my two-year-old for playing with other piles of junk while I worked on the bouncer. I left with everything I had brought in. I'd much prefer giving it away for free to families who need it. I have been to other Once Upon a Child stores and have had pleasant experiences. This particular one needs to be razed. read more

I was not pleased after trying to consign some clothes there. I had made a purchase weeks prior, and decided to sell some items, which I had never done before. They gave me one dollar for each item, and passed on the majority which were in good condition. All there items are marked pretty high, definitely higher than usual thrift stores. They are making ten times the profit practically than what they are buying the used items for. For now on, I will only donate and go to regular thrift shops instead. Very disappointed in how they do "business". read more
