The Spotted Goose is a cute children's clothing store with cute little accessories. However, I don't come here often or as my go-to place as they are extremely expensive. They do carry really good brands, but I'm not spending $50-$80 on just a sweat TOP. Yes I capitalized top because this is just the price for the top not the bottom included. For an entire sweat outfit it's like $100-$120 dollars, or one shirt (not matching tops and bottoms) is like $70-$80. I'm also not interested in spending $150 on 2-3 pieces that my daughter will only wear for like 2-3 months because she grew out of it. I like the best bang for my buck. I like to come here when I am looking for something specific for my daughter. Like, I just bought her 1st birthday picture outfits from here. They are adorable but once again expensive. I don't mind spending extra for pictures because it's a memory I will have forever and it's not often I'm spending $200 on 5 articles of clothing she'll grow out of. For a necklace, tutu, headband, bloomers, a plain pink shirt with ONE spelled out, and another headband the total came to be $198 (with tax). See my point, and out of all of this she can only wear the headbands and necklace again. Overall, The Spotted Goose has the cutest clothes and friendly staff but like I said they are more on the expensive side. I definitely pull them out of my pocket for special occasions. read more

Remember looking back at childhood photos, wondering what the heck your mom was thinking dressing you in those clothes for picture day? It's because she didn't have The Spotted Goose. The Spotted Goose is a charming and somewhat eclectic children's boutique in the heart of Oakley. I walked in hoping to find a unique gift for my best friend's newest addition. I didn't leave disappointed! The only problem was that I had too many choices to choose from. Each piece was different, charming, and something I would love to unwrap someday. I walked in and was greeted by a friendly, helpful woman. I explained what I was looking for and she asked thoughtful questions, leading her to some recommendations. They had just gotten in a shipment of child snoods, a type of neck warmer you can pull up over your head like a hood. There were homemade baby teethers, sensory blankets, Ohio bibs, crocheted crowns, hand sewn moccasins chic outfits, patterned bloomers and of course, Sophie the Giraffe. How could I choose?!?! While I was trying to find the perfect gift, more mothers came in and their children were able to play in the colorful area in the back. There was a drawing table, books and plenty of activity space to keep them busy. What a cool place! Where was this store when I was a kid? I ended up selecting onesie stickers for the new mom to catalogue the changes of her little girl (and most likely post on facebook). They were a pattern I hadn't seen in chain stores, and that made me love them even more. In addition to being the cutest baby, her facebook album will also be the best. The wrapping was beautiful. They did free gift wrapping- white and silver polka dotted paper inside a cellophane bag, tied with a pink ribbon. I selected an adorable gift tag and cannot wait to give it to my friend. The sales woman was wonderful, welcoming and attentive to each customer. Oakley is lucky to have this gem and I cannot wait to return when my friends come to visit! read more

The second Cindy G drove us by The Spotted Goose my head whipped around and I said something akin to, "Awwwwwww that place looks adorable!" And it is. In every way. Spotted Goose is a children's boutique chock full of sweet duds from dresses to accessories, tees to onesies, small toys to shoes. I was particularly impressed by their local moccasins and their sale section. Price points are on the higher end with brands like Tea, Babiators, Gardner & The Gang, Aden & Anais, Kickee Pants, and more. Spotted Goose is a beautifully put together haven for children's clothing and accessories. My girls are super excited for their new dresses. For what it is, the Spotted Goose is top notch. I love kids just as much as the next guy. Don't have any and don't really have anyone to shop for currently, but I somehow always find myself back in this little shop! They have everything from jewelry to scarves, art, toys, accessories and one of the best features? Embroidery! This is one of the few places I know that if you aren't super duper crafty and doing it yourself you can go and pick out a cute little onesie or t-shirt and get something custom embroidered. It's a simple gift that really shows you went out of your way to do something different and thoughtful. And I think that is one of the reasons why I love this store. It's one of a kind. You won't find anything else in this store anywhere else. Everything is funky and unique and I love that! The owner and staff are super friendly and willing to walk you through the store and help you find the perfect gift. Thank god I don't have children right now or I'd be poor! I happened to stop in here with my sister-in-law and baby niece last weekend after checking out Oakley Fancy Fair. Oh boy, Christmas for my niece is going to put quite the dent in my wallet now! This fairly large shop is filled with adorable clothes for babies and children probably up to about 5 years old, maybe older. It's pricey but it's perfect for a special occasion outfit. They also have little nifty toys and cute lunch boxes and all sorts of things. The lady working there was really nice and didn't mind my niece having a blast picking out clothes and trying on purses. In fact she offered to close the door that was open to help put us a little at ease. At least now I'll be spending a small fortune on my niece supporting somewhere local! read more

There's no denying this shop is adorable and carries extremely cute baby/toddler products, but it's unfortunate that since the change of ownership and subsequent recent remodel, they've raised their prices even higher. As an example, a pair of baby shoes jumped nearly $10 between pre and post-remodel. Coincidence? Perhaps, but the timing is suspect. I understand that raising prices comes with owning a business, but a $10 jump is a bit much and raises an eyebrow. Love the shop and hopefully they had a valid reason for doing so, rather than upping prices based on a store facelift. I love to support local businesses, so here's to hoping they're being fair to their customers and not money hungry. read more

I need to be a millionaire when I grow up, so I can shop here for and take classes with my children (who, at this point, do not exist). I don't often discuss the children I hope to someday have, but shopping for my nephew at The Spotted Goose really jump-started that conversation and this review. It's extremely difficult to shop for a 18-month-old boy who doesn't really need toys or clothes, but after reading about the local goods (clothes, toys, accessories, etc.) available at The Spotted Goose, I thought it would be a good idea to check it out. Not to mention that I am the cool aunt who buys hims all of his "hip" Cincinnati paraphernalia, and TSG sells just that. The clothes (sweaters, screen-printed shirts, striped long-sleeved garb; tutus for girls, dresses, HEADBANDS!; everything you could think of) are wonderful. They are obviously wonderfully crafted and, even if a bit pricey for children's wear, appear worthy the cost. It's not often you find a wonderful, local children's boutique-like shop, but if you assemble your children's (boy or girl) closet here, your kid(s) will surely be the hippest, trendiest, most adorable on the block. In addition to the clothes and accessories (I ended up with a "Cincinnati" t-shirt and a really fantastic bib with the state of Ohio stitched on it), I was blown away by the class that was taking place at the time. Having taken 8+ years of Spanish, I fancy myself well versed enough to understand what's going on. The Spanish class that was in session for toddlers blew my mind. It was advanced, even for someone at my age and with my experience! I want that for my kids someday. What a cool, cool place. read more

This little shop in Oakley is adorable. A. dor. able. If I had kids and some extra money to spend on making them as cute as this store, I'd definitely shop here. It's in a line of stores that are really well suited to rearing and having hip, cute, learned kids- Blue Manatee, Spotted Goose, and King Arthur's. While the clothes prices are a little steep for what I'll likely ever spend on my kids, the vibe here is good and the toys and nick-nacks are pretty well priced. I found a cute little globe that sits on a ring for a bookcase I was decorating. Win (even pre-kidlets). This place is worth a look, and worth supporting if you're able. read more

King Arthur's toy store, The Blue Manatee, Habits Cafe and Aglamesis are positioned around this vibrant and hip children's boutique, located in the heart of Oakley Square: The Spotted Goose. Three times a week, I would run by this place. I love writing headlines, so with the constantly sugar-sweet window displays and name, I was intrigued. Sure, my running time has not been accurate since my path crossed this place, but curiosity needed squelching. You know how little things are always cute? Well, this is a store of little things both for moms and their children. Flashy tutus, raincoats, accessories, forward-thinking sippy cups, and kits for mom that she'll love you for purchasing. Things to note: -- My niece is fourteen months, and the store doesn't really reach out to her size. They have cloths for newly-born infants and toddlers. The cashier was quick to admit, when we fumbled together to find her something, that it's just not an age-range size they get in. Of course, you can always buy a size big and let the giftee grow into whatever awesome purchase you decide. -- It's expensive. If you come in, begin to mentally prepare yourself for losing at least $100, at least. A bejeweled clippy that's about the size of my pinkie, consisting of a piece of ribbon and four tacked on stones is $12. I wanted to ask if it was Swarvoski. A poster of cute and cuddly animals is $85, and its size is just too small and the fact it's only one color doesn't sell me. -- They open late and close early: I could never make it in when running. The store is opened Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Ah, but those tutus are too cute. So, I give The Spotted Goose my seal of awesome, and continue to suffer the consequences of my purchases for my niece. Ultimately though, I think about my dear cardboard box of old and wonder if throwing down this kind of dough for items she'll grow out of (both in size and interest) in mere months really compares with the simple pleasures that tend to outlast time. read more

I wanted to love this shop, and I have several things from this store that my young daughters have cherished. But when I recently got a t-shirt that doesn't fit my daughter as a gift and tried to exchange it for something we could use, the customer service was terrible. The Spotted Goose still has the shirt I tried to return fully in-stock (not on the sale rack or anything), but they refused to return or exchange it without a receipt. Since they couldn't find my friend's transaction in the register, they told me that their system wouldn't allow for a return. In essence, I'm stuck with a $40 toddler t-shirt we will never use because the folks at the Spotted Goose refused to do a gift exchange. I would understand if I was trying to return merchandise they no longer sell, but, again, the shirt is still fully in-stock and prominently displayed! Please beware of buying gifts or merchandise you aren't 100% certain you will keep here as their policy precludes them from being flexible and, frankly, customer-friendly. It's difficult seeing a local store that you want to support behave in such a rigid fashion. As other reviewers have stated, I felt the clerks were pretentious and unhelpful, and they were definitely not customer-friendly. Cute collection of brands of kids' clothes that are otherwise hard to find in stores. Some sale stuff, but not great sale prices. You can do better at a Nordstrom sale. The store is nice and well-located, but the woman working on the Sunday I came in just really rubbed me the wrong way. I asked a couple of questions and she could barely be bothered to answer them...supplying absolutely no helpful info. Everyone has off days, but she came off as snobby, detached, and uninterested in doing anything but unpacking a shipment. If my son had not needed some winter pants, I probably would have just left. read more

I have shopped here for a few years since discovering this shop after the birth of my son. However, my most recent experience has helped me make the decision to take my business elsewhere. I came in because the Native shoes were on sale and I have heard nothing but great things about the shoes. The woman working was more interested with her phone conversation than asking if she could help. I asked if she could size my son for the shoes and she picked up his gym shoes looked at the tag and told me which size I needed. I mentioned that those were older gym shoes and she claimed that the Native shoes should fit snug. After a few blisters and a trip to Nordstrom where he was sized correctly in a shoe 2 sizes larger, I will not be returning to this store in the future. read more
