We're expecting our first baby and we were surprised to find so few stores dedicated to baby clothing, furnitures and other necessities. The places we did find were pretty overpriced, considering how quickly babies grow. When we walked inside, there was a huge inventory of clothing for all different ages. The prices are extremely reasonable and the clothes are in great condition. We happened to walk in on the day of a sale and got a ton of onesies for a few dollars. I couldn't believe it. It's easy to spend a lot of time here. The staff was also extremely friendly and I left wondering why there aren't more stores like this. The majority of the inventory is clothing but they do have some play mats, pack and plays, toys, etc. It just depends on the items brought in. I have no idea if the business is under new management. They have a sign that says " all day drop off ". i come in only 1 hr 1/2 after opening and they're already not accepting any more drop offs for the day ? i'll take my business elsewhere :( twice now ! i have tried donating items but they genuinely refuse service ! sad ! read more

Was unable to make my purchase today because the four people behind the counter refused to acknowledge me. One worker was actively ignoring me while doing nothing. Waited awhile and tried numerous times to get someone's attention and ended up putting everything back. Had a nice haul for my god daughter too! Oh well. Guess they don't want to actually sell the clothes for sale? Will not be going back which is a shame because I have so many children in my life who I like to get little gifts for. This place is such a waste of time...I had to wait almost a month to get an appointment.Was only allowed to bring a 20 gallon tote of clothes.I called the night before to check what sizes and seasons they were taking because I didn't want to waste the 20 gallons I was aloud to bring.She said they needed bigger kids clothes I had 10-12 and 14. Mostly still with tags on them Went there with a tote full of clothes and was told they wouldn't be ready with my offer till the next day.So I had to drive 35 minutes back over the next day they only took maybe 10 things said the clothes were all in excellent condition but because of demand (whatever that means)they had to pass on some stuff.The clothes in the store are also kinda expensive for a second hand store.You could shop at kids for less and get brand new clothes for cheaper.The gas it took to go back and forth I would have been better off selling online or a donation bin on the side of the road. This place is a joke. It's great if you're a shopper and want to get cheap/used clothes for your kids to put holes in. As a consigner, stay away. It's just not worth the time or the hassle they create. First of all, they change their policies continually and then act annoyed when you aren't informed prior to drop off... shouldn't they tell you what to do when you make an appt? Second, making an appointment to drop clothes is such a pain and you have to book WEEKS in advance. Are they really that busy? I cannot imagine. They barely take any of the items you give regardless of quality and use. They returned many things with tags on or never used items. I wasted my time and gas for a whole $24 today. read more

Don't bother going here to give your things. Might as well post off Craigslist or somewhere. They offered me $28 dollars yes $28 dollars for a Graco jog stroller this stroller was used MAYBE 3 times, it stayed at my moms as a just incase stroller. Friends told me don't bother bringing clothes etc... you bring name brand things and they search and search for something wrong and low ball you like crazy. This is one of my favorite OUAC locations bc when I sell my kids clothing, they take mostly everything. This location does have size restrictions, pretty often, however of you sell your well kept items, chances are, they will buy almost everything in your bins. Of selling clothing they like the clothes to be laid out flat in a bin with a 2 bin limit. I've always been very happy when I leave. read more

The absolute worst customer service of any Once Upon A Child I've ever been to. I walked out because the staff was so rude.

No longer having the need for children's clothing or strollers I never paid much attention to the place; tucked in between Planet Fitness, a few fast food places, and Home Depot. I don't know why I went inside I asked the cashier "What is this place?" She told me; people bring the clothes, strollers, toys, etc. that their children have out grown and no longer use and sell it to them, others come in and buy what is on the racks. What did surprise me was that these were not worn out, broken or otherwise shabby things. With the way kids quickly out grow their clothes, it makes perfect sense. If you've been to children's clothing stores and seen the prices, this can be a godsend to many. This is true recycling! Besides how many families nowadays are large enough to enable a "hand me down" situation? I told a friend of mine who has 6 grandchildren, mostly girls, about it. We noticed major brands; such as Baby Gap, A&F, and other well known quality clothing lines. She is a very savvy shopper and checked everything over; before buying several dresses, pants, sweaters and other items. She was especially pleased that it didn't cost her that much. Too bad they didn't have a place like this decades ago when I could have taken advantage of it. The staff was friendly, the place is clean, and well organized. read more

I have gone to this location a few times, always left feeling annoyed and disappointed. The concept of the store is great and it has a lot of stuff to look through but my issue is with the staff. They are NEVER helpful, pleasant or even somewhat nice. I have been ignored while standing at the register, brushed off, spoken to quite rudely by more than one staff member and I will no longer give this store my business. I have driven to the Danbury location (45 min away) three times now just to avoid this. Really it's a shame (and their loss) because I sell a lot of good stuff. read more

I love coming here but their trade in policy is a little off if you ask me. I have brought in basically new clothing, top brands and they have turned it away stating something new every time. Yet you go through their isles and there are more than several pieces of clothing I wouldn't even pass down to my own children as play clothes none the less sell. Yet I wait a few weeks and bring it back and they take it. I don't have time with small kids to go back and forth....but they do give you cash back and that's pretty awesome! If you're going to sell, don't sell at this location. Super unprofessional. I sold for the first time today (brought a ton of gently used baby clothes and a few toys). The lady who helped me told me to wait 30 minutes while they go through the stuff. I looked around as I waited. I asked the lady what are they going to buy, she brought a blue bin with my stuff clothes and two toys. I counted the clothes and it was 15 items and 2 toys totaling to 17. The receipt said 17 items for $38.50 was the offer. I signed as instructed to accept the offer and requested all the items they were not purchasing which included a ride on car and a sit and stand toy. The lady told me that those were included in the offer. I was so pissed that I just walked out because they misled me to believe they weren't buying that stuff. Not worth it. Next time I'll sell stuff on Facebook market place. read more

My sister in law and I went today to sell our gear to Once Upon a Child. My sister in law specifically called the store yesterday (Thursday) to ask what the hours for selling gear and clothes was and what season of clothes were being purchased. She specifically asked what the hours were for selling gear today (she was told 10-6). So she drives down from Saratoga, I drive from the other side of the river, cars full of stuff to sell, and... We were told they were not purchasing anything today. The reason? It's really busy when they have sales. The store was absolutely dead. Crickets. I understand there have to be policies, but why weren't we told that when we specifically called to ask the day before?!?! I was willing to try again with this store because I had a negative experience the last time. read more

From a buying perspective, they have good stuff to offer at decent prices, especially when there is a sale. From a selling perspective: I would give them ZERO stars if I could! They have a zillion restrictions on what they take and when... I have brought super high quality items in several times and they usually deny most of it or tell me to bring it back in a few months... beyond aggravating. read more
