I haven't sold anything here yet so my experience is based on buying. All of the workers (except one) do not wear their masks over their noses. There is one particular employee who barely wears her mask. She is constantly eating or drinking every time I've stopped by. I've also heard her take personal phone calls up front. That's way too relaxed for me in a quiet store. Besides the lackluster customer service, the selection of clothes is ok. There are a lot of options but I'm not a big fan of graphics on clothes so less options for me. If you like printed graphics or don't mind it, you can get a lot of clothes for at least 50% off sale prices at baby stores. The onesies section is definitely nice. $10 for 10 onesies! And some of them are brand new. I would definitely keep checking out OUAC but don't expect any form of customer service. I'm also concerned about the risk of covid with the pregnant women since no one here can wear a mask correctly. I would definitely come at your own risk. read more

I left in tears because this always happens whenever my husband and I bring any items in to sell vs when I have my WHITE friend take them for me. Wehave twins and double everything. A lot of the items were still in plastic bc we just never used it. I PURPOSELY called up there prior to coming to see if there were any items that they were not excepting- they said no. I brought in a double bassinet for twins, a double stroller for the careseat, two high chairs, a changing table mat BRAND NEW never used and two swings. They rejected ALL of our items with the exception on ONE high chair that they offered us $10 for. Needless to say... we won't be back and I would encourage anyone who is sick of this covert racism crap to not shop here either. I have pictures and proof of the treatment we receive vs my friend with OUR ITEMS and will be filing a discrimination complaint against them. read more

Once Upon A Child stores are always overcrowded with plenty of clothing, toys, strollers, etc for infants and toddlers; they got just about everything under the sun for kids. My main complaint is the used clothing is pretty expensive; you can go to Walmart or Target and spend only a few more dollars for the same clothing new. The quality of the clothes at the store are nice with a few exceptions, but the price should be more inline for "used" clothing. read more

Honestly the store smells of cigarettes. They won't buy a brand new shirt that is polo but will buy a nasty pack n play with baby poop /puke all over it. They rip you off the prices are stupid expensive if I wanted to pay nearly brand new I would order it online or buy in store. The staff is rude poor service to customers. $20 lost. 1. Purchased shoes with label size 8. Found manufacturers label size 6 on shoe later. 2. Purchased "diaper disposal" that I was assured would accommodate diaper genie refills. It doesn't. At store I did not ask for refund but swap with other items. Rejected because I had no receipt even tho I'm in their system. I'm done with this store. I hope this helps someone else. read more

This is a good place to get gently used baby items....they have tons of cloths, strollers, swings, cribs, pretty much anything baby. But I agree with other reviews this is not a fun place to sell things to....they are kinda short with you about selling, then they pick thu your stuff and hardily will accept anything and offer you very little for what they do want....I did it once and after that I just give my stuff to friends that need it. read more

They should have a full disclaimer: ONLY ACCEPTING HARSHLY USED, STAINED CLOTHES AND NOTHING NEW OR EXPENSIVE. This is the second time I've brought in almost perfect, barely used items and clothing. First they reject my cosleeper - which the last time I was there, they were selling the EXACT same one just a different color. And I doubt they go through any of the clothes you drop off because they picked a few things off the top and said they aren't accepting anything else (mind you a ton of the clothes had never been worn and had store tags still on them). This is the LAST time I drag my stuff over here and waste my time. read more

Main feedback is to work on customer service. I wasn't greeted when I walked in and when checking out the woman in front of me was offered a discount for the sale they were having that day while I was not. I frequently shop at the OUAC's near me as I don't live near this area. I wasn't impressed by the quality/condition of the clothes or the prices they were listed at. If you have time to dig through you'll find a couple of gems though. Would I visit again if I was in the area, maybe. read more

Been selling here for about 4 years the prior owners/older ladies used to buy all kinds of stuff from me-went here today and they did not buy one item! Very insulted..drove all the way there with lots of good items including some new air Jordans. Waste of time. Seems to have new people in there past few times. Not friendly! They were extremely rude. As soon as I walked in with my NICE Step 2 and Fisher Price large toys that normally retail $200+, they rolled their eyes basically and didn't make me feel welcome. And I had a like new Step2 play house that was missing some balls (who cares, you can get those online easily) and they didn't want to take it! Then because it was in 2 pieces to fit in my car, they handed me a screw driver to put it back together. I might as well have been a Once Upon a Child employee! I was standing there Googling items for them and explaining to them what the cost was, what parts went with what, etc. They tested each and every item like I was selling them a $50,000 car. It's a consignment shop! Of course balls and some small pieces might be missing. They were just rude and made me feel super uncomfortable. I will not be back. read more

This place is awful. They suck you in with their commercial then they hardly give you anything for the items you bring in and they only take seasonal items. I would have recommended it for buying only, but because of our bad experience I can't recommend it at all. I've gone there several times and just accepted I wouldn't get much money...and that's how they make their killing...busy mom's with no time to list on ebay or take pictures to sell on craigslist. They were never friendly, in fact usually pretty rude, and I really didn't like going there, especially since it takes me/us 30 minutes to get there. The final straw was when my husband and I made the effort to drive down there on a Sunday to trade some nice things in and as soon as we walked in the door we were greeted with a very rude "We don't buy things on Sunday..this is my only day to get things done" (then looks away and ignores us). I mean this lady wasn't even nice when she spoke to us (which has been my experience EVERY time with this women, whom I think is one of the owners). I asked if she could possibly make an exception this one time since it takes us half an hour to get there "No, sorry" and then she just looked away and ignored us while we're standing there..our hands and arms full of lots of baby items..oh and a small baby (we weren't going to trade her in...don't worry!) I mean...do you want to have a successful business or what? I guess it's "or what" for this business. They also seem to bring their teenage daughters in to work for them...whom are also rude. We won't be going back and instead go to the Children's Orchard (sometimes when we have no time anyway). They're at least more friendly there even if the payout is about the same...and you have to make an appointment. Better yet, try to find some time to sell on craigslist. I hope to find some other children's consignment shops to review soon. So far my experience with them ALL has been a rude awakening. read more

I completely understand why they have the low star rating. They would not purchase some very nice items I had, then paid me 10.75 for once worn items. I figured the selection of things to purchase MUST be top notch considering the quality of my reject pile. I could not be more wrong. The very first thing I touched had an obvious pen mark on the sash on the front of the garment. The second dress I looked at had ink dots on the bodice. The jumper had no obvious stains but it was nothing to write home about and they were charging 6.50 for it. It was a top and bloomer combo item that is regularly on sale for 5-6 bucks at WalMart! There were no less than 8 people crammed behind a counter, talking loudly to each other, negotiating whether or not one of them had an attitude, and seemingly taking up space. The woman at the register was nice and greeted me when I entered. The person who checked my items was rude. If they cut the fat of staff, they could offer realistic prices for garbage on hangers. In their defense, the toys seemed clean and the books were in good condition. I didn't check prices of either. I wanted to take my $10.75 college fund contribution and ease on down the road to the nearest Goodwill. Nutshell: eBay. read more

I've shopped here often over the years. Be very careful about what you buy! They seem to be super duper picky about what they will buy from you...stains..holes...etc...but 99% of the time I come home with things that have holes or stains. But when they have sales...whoo hoo! I've gotten some excellent outfits for just a dollar...great name brands that I will be able to resell for more than I got them for! Service is sometimes friendly...usually not...just depends on who is there! Not my favorite place in general but if they are having a sale I am there! Onesie prices are hard to beat but my little one is too big for onsies now! I have gotten strollers and high chairs from them...as with all consignment shops...know what the going price range is for what you want to get...and CAREFULLY check the item you are going to buy! read more

In comparison to the Once Upon a Child location in OP/JAX on Lake Gray Blvd, this store comes up short in most categories. When we went in, the staff were leaning on the counter chatting, I asked for help and they kept right on talking. I finally got a woman's attention to ask her about some jumperoos and exersaucers. Apparently they take the batteries out of all the toys when they're brought in so you can't see what the toys will do before you buy them. Bad sales technique! When I told her I couldn't pick a toy without knowing what it did, she grudgingly went to get a screwdriver and a "borrow" battery. She did not know the products well enough to tell me what lit up or made music without the batteries. I felt that the toys and the store itself could use a good scrubbing! They did have a larger selection of baby gear, e.g. mobile type toys for 6 mos. and up. It may be due to slower sales as the saleswoman pointed to one toy and told me I didn't want that one since "it was a really old, one that had been there forever." Cross the Buckman and go to the store across from Best Buy!!! read more

I would give it no stars if that was allowed! When you walk in the door no one even looks up to greet you. You get the opinion right from the start that they'd rather you not be there to bother them. The store is dirty and very overcrowded. The shoes that they have for sale are literally nasty. Personally I don't understand how they're still open. A new store has opened right down the street called Kid to Kid. It's clean and bright, the merchandise is wonderful, it even has a large changing room. I didn't understand how this Once upon a Child location was open before, The new store will hurt their business badly! My advice to them would be step up your game, and do it now! I've been to a variety of OUAC locations in different areas, and this location is what I expect - overstuffed shelves of a variety of items. I stopped in to look for a dress and shorts for my toddler. I found two pairs of shorts, no dress. The clothing area is arranged by size and type (shirts, shorts, coats, etc.) like other OUACs. The shoes are arranged in bins. Quality control is necessary when accepting shoes - lots of heavily used shoes that I'm amazed the store actually accepts for resale. There were lots of infant toys and swings, and a nice selection of books. The "play area" looked a little gross for children to chill in. We were greeted by the one employee working in the store - she was pleasant and immediately let us know of a current clearance sale. There was nothing stellar about this location, but I've never shopped at a OUAC that was stellar. If you know what to expect from this franchise, your expectations will be met here. read more

Perhaps 1.5 stars to be exact... This location would do much better if they a) had a fitting room (instead of trying on in a one-room restroom) - (FYI the restroom in my experiences has been moderately clean but it just doesn't feel good trying out clothes next to a public toilet w/out a good mirror while anticipating a knock on the door); b) if they had a better selection of clothing (lots of things that are stretched out, faded 80s-looking stuff that I would never buy anyway let alone at their higher prices - I've noticed the same clothes have remained stocked for a *long* time & they always tell me they're not buying because they have too much); and c) if they hired employees who are friendly, sincerely want to help you, & aren't snarky to customers. Just constructive criticism :) . I wish them the best. Some OUACs are really good & some aren't. Will not be back! Walked in to the store because the doors were open (the sign that a store is open for business) and was greeted with a nasty response from both of them saying "we're not open". I'm sorry, but maybe you shouldn't prob your doors open before your store is actually open without expecting people to walk in. I was prepared to spend a pretty penny there as I am still in need of some large items for my baby due in December, however I will not return. Once upon a Child has been around for years. The employees have always been very friendly. They are choosy with what they take but that is so that they can provide us with the best selection. They do not help you bring your stuff in or out that is your job. The prices are great. I hope they're around for years to come. read more

Horrible! I had a ton of stuff to lug in from my car into the store that was already a cluster, nobody even offered to hold the freakin door. They sifted through everything and of course took the best stuff and gave me chump change. I had to lug everything back to my car and once again they all just stood there watching. Horrible location. I love the one by my house but I decided to go to this one to sell them my items because they had nothing compared to the store next to me. I was trying to help them out I guess. It backfired, their lack of stock was for a reason. I brought in $85 worth of unused, unopened, still packaged toys my son never opened. I was only given $12 for them. I should have just taken them back, but I was on my way to pick up my child and he didn't know I was getting rid of them, so I didn't want them in the car. The store was very unwelcoming. The lady behind the counter taking my items was rude and had a nasty attitude. I ignored it and moved on. The fact that she wouldn't price the stuff in front of me should have clued me in. My husband actually got so mad he called just to ask how they come up with their prices to see if there was a reason we were given such a low price. She told my husband "we do not discuss how we price items with our customers" And seemed appalled that we asked. I think it was a valid question. We understand that they need to make a profit, but it just seems like they didn't do any research at all on what the items actually cost before they gave me a offer. Next time I will just save them and donate them to foster kids, which is what I was and should have done. read more

This was on my first time buying/selling at this store today, Feb 21, 2015. I came for the purpose of trading some old clothes of my children's for store credit. I already knew, from hearsay, that they were picky about items and didn't give much credit for them so I expected this. I also knew they only looked for certain sizes at certain times. Before unloading my items, my daughter and I went into the store to inquire what they were buying that day. I was IGNORED. FOUR people working and not ONE greeted me. They were all too busy eating lunch...at the same time. I understand people need to eat, etc, but seriously, ALL of you? At the counter? You should close if you can't wait on customers during mealtimes. I waited until they finished their personal conversations to be told to go down to the "next counter" to another worker who was still eating. After getting the sizes they asked for out of my car, I returned and he then me to go BACK to the ladies to have them look, so I waited AGAIN for them to stop eating and look over the stuff (they then told me to go wait "over there"). I brought in the sizes they said they needed, which they didn't even buy half? I took the remaining items and was told to come back in a minute to get my total. I then shopped the store, giving them time to access my credit. When I returned to the counter I asked what my credit was. They didn't even remember who I was or what I brought in 5 minutes before! They said "what is your name?" I told them they didn't even ask! I asked several times what I needed to tell the cashier for my credit, the lady buying "forgot" and had to recalculate my stuff as I was sitting there waiting with my child - all for eight dollars. Seriously? You run a business relying on others to bring you items to resale and you treat them like a nuisance. Disgusting. I won't be back. read more
