I wish there was an option to leave 0 stars. They are undeserving of having even one. The elderly man who works here is so rude. He has a horrible attitude and will not hesitate to berate you or treat you poorly. They don't even like children so why they would own a children's resale shop is beyond me. Worst customer service experience ever. You are better off finding quality items in resale groups or online than going here and finding overpriced goods that they have cheated people for. If you try to sell your items here they will tell you they have stains or odors and can't sell them but will insist that they'll take them off your hands for free. Crooks. The owner offered pennies for my items saying what poor condition they were in (mind you so many of these are name brand, and never even worn) and then proceeded to say that if I have nothing to do with the rest (including the items he didn't offer to buy) that they would take them for free. That was my experience and Yelp can keep trying to delete it but I will post it back up. They have talked down to me in front of other customers and treated me bad for no reason! First time I shopped here I spend about $40 bought my little girl from onesies, sweaters, pants, and bows. I love the selection of hair bands and bows. Im a first time mommy on a budget and this is my kinda store. The clothing is in great condition practically new! They have really good jumpers and strollers for cheap aside from other small things a mommy needs and baby need. The toy selection is good also. I buy something every time I visit store. I wish I could rate this store ZERO star. This is what happened to me. A couple of days ago I went to this store to see if I could find some LEGO blocks. Their cashier helped me find a big bag of "LEGO" which did have the price tag that printed "LEGO blocks $12". So I purchased that one, spent two hours soaking and cleaning them and two days drying them. Then I gave them to my kid. But they just couldn't be inserted into his LEGO which I bought in Target. It puzzled me a while until I figured it out that what I bought from Once Upon Child aren't LEGO, instead, they are MEGA BLOCKS! They look very like LEGO, but they are NOT compatible with LEGO and they even have the tiny letters "MEGA BLOCK" on each one of them. I thought the store make the mistake unintentionally, so I just came back to the store trying to explain my situation. A gentleman in the store insisted that MEGA BLOCK and LEGO are the same thing and compatible. When I was trying my best to disagree on this with respect, all of the sudden he said he couldn't serve me cuz I yelled at him! I told him that I'm sorry if he felt that I was yelling, but I want to return it. He didn't let me return the blocks even on store credit, neither allowed a switch to LEGO, because he said I couldn't provide a receipt or price tag. With all respect, who would spend two hours cleaning and two days drying a toy, all the while, thinking about even the slim possibility to return it? If the store didn't sell me a FAKE LEGO, I would never need to return it. Anyway, I ended up throwing all of these FAKE LEGO into my garbage can, cuz they were not compatible with my kid's LEGO and frustrated and confused him when he tried to fit them into his LEGO. My opinion is: stay away from this store! The people there do NOT Responsible for stuff they sell. Besides, you can go to Facebook market to find used toys for your kids. Moms there sell you stuff directly at a much cheaper price and they are usually much nicer. If you want to try your luck for free kids' stuff, go to freerecycle.com. So today was the start of their final clearance sale for all things winter (long sleeved shirts, pants, sweaters, sleepers, some t shirts etc). Everything that was clearance is now $1. I decided to buy all kinds of outfits up to size 2T and must have purchased at least 60 pieces for... $60. The brands were pretty great: Polo Ralph Lauren, Gap, Osh Kosh, Koala Baby, Carters, Nautica, Hurley, Cherokee etc (many others I am forgetting too). Plus all their winter jackets were $5, so I got 2 really nice ones as well. Shoes are full price, and seem to range from $2-10 for the majority of them. They also have books, toys, DVDs and other baby gear, though not at the same deep discount. Also, they have a loyalty program where if you spent $200 (1 punch for every $10 spent) you get $20 to spend at their store. This sale evidently runs for the rest of the month but I imagine it'll start getting picked over soon. I am a Once Upon a Child believer. read more

If you have really good. And I mean REALLY GOOD gently used clothing you can bring here to get some money and put it toward the tons of great selections they have. They except toys as long as you have all the parts. I figure some money it better then no money. I prefer this play WAY more then Kid to Kid. They aren't as picky as Kid to Kid. The reason I give 3 stars is just because I wish they weren't so picky and I would get more money. But other then that good staff and clean place. Even bathroom is nice and clean place. read more

I'm always able to get good clothes for my two kids here. Especially love clearance sales. There is a bit of digging to get nice clothes at cheap price but totally worth it. Shoes, toys, and books are great too. Taking a star off because I tried selling stuff here and oddly they took really cheap clothes from my stuff and gave back the really good ones. Coming in here to sell, you'll never know what they will take. Tip though is to make sure clothes are folded neatly when you try to sell. read more

Upset at this place... came in to sell my sons jumper that he was barely used with all parts and had batteries and clothes. Well they bought half the clothes I brought in and jumper and I only got $40 WTF remind you the jumper is a FisherPrice brand and was worth $85.. rip off! I've been going to this store since they first opened and have always had a good, if not great, experience. I've had great luck finding items for my son and other kids in my life... coats, shoes (dress and casual), jeans, shorts, dress clothes, costumes, bikes, baby stuff of all sorts, and toys. Prices are always lower than retail and I often find things that have tags still on them or are in like new condition. The staff are both friendly and helpful to boot! The ad should've made it more clear that they only take small children's clothing. We brought 3 big boxes up there hoping to get some money and they wanted us to come back in three hours to get our cash and items they didn't want. We lived an hour away so we had to drive all the way back right before closing since they said we couldn't come the next day. They told us they only bought $8 worth of clothing out of the probably 200 items we gave. So I understand if they only taking small children clothing but they should have made it more clear. When the old man was being out the three big boxes on one of those rollers he just left them there and went back inside. I expected him to help us carry them in the trunk but he didn't. Would not come here again...rude staff and while there is a lot of selection of clothes, I found the prices to be at least double what I've found in other consignment and thrift stores. I had come to this place to see if they had any maternity/nursing clothes, but when I asked, the rude salesman gave me this incredulous look and was like, maternity clothes for children? No, smartass, for me (didn't say that, though I should have). He then went on to say this was a children's store. I explained that many of the other kids consignment stores I've been to have sold maternity items as well. He just snickered and then walked away saying something to his colleague along the lines of, can you believe she thinks there is maternity stuff here? Wow, excuse me for asking. I would have overlooked that had the store had some good merchandise at good prices, but as I mentioned, prices were easily double that of places like Kid to Kid in Santa Clara, Thrift Town in Fremont, and even the JBF consignment sale that goes on at certain times throughout the Bay Area. Like a pair of worn pants was $6.50. I've gotten brand new (with tags on) Puma pants for my daughter for $2 at Thrift Town. Baby swings at Once Upon A Child range from $50-70 for the nicer looking ones, which is more than what I've seen on Craigslist, but not nearly as nice as the stuff on Craigslist. Bottom line, I would NOT come back here when there are so many other places to get kid and baby items for much less. And you don't have to deal with rude staff members. read more

Was hesitant to come here due to some bad reviews but gave this place a shot. We only bought stuff from here, never tried to sell yet. We were amazed at the quality of stuff sold here at such great prices! We first started shopping here by buyin a baby mesh tub thing, then a portable crib, baby pillow for flat head correction, and now some winter baby pajamas. Savd us a lot of money so far! They have this point system where you spend a certain amount and when you accumulate to $200 or so, you get 20% off your next puchase. Pretty neat! read more

Review is unchanged. The owner takes pride in this establishment and always has reasons and excuses for criticism, which is both good and bad. It's great that he reads and responds, but in is unfortunate that he never apologizes for a customer's poor experience. In reading his responses, I get the sense the owner wants the "last word" on the matter. I still maintain that there is too much inconsistency in products and that the pricing is too high for the quality of the clothes. I find it interesting that he responded to my previous review, stating he did indeed give me an itemized price for a tuxedo that I brought in. Amazing, since he wasn't there, and no, I didn't get an itemized price from the young lady that helped me. I would suggest perhaps a monthly email to clients letting them know what you are low on as well as what you are overstocked with so as to avoid any misunderstandings when making offers for items. read more

I've been coming to this location since they opened! I love the service, the employees are great! Up until today. There was a new male manager (usually a lady manager is on duty when I come in and she's wonderful). I dropped off some items like I usually do, was told there were 8 people ahead of me and that it will take about 2 hours, and was told to come back within a couple of hours. I'm aware that they call you when they're ready to make an offer for the items you brought in. But the last few times I came I was given an estimate time, they were pretty accurate and I didn't even need to wait for their phone call. Today I dropped off my items and as I was told...2 hours later I came back and to my surprise the items I brought in were still untouched. Nolan, was the employee behind the counter and when I told him I was there returning he said, "did you get a call from us?" And told him I didn't and that I was told to just come back in a couple of hours. And he said "Well it's only been an hour." Making me feel as if I lied about the time I brought my stuff in. Leaving upset I called to speak to a manager to complain about this matter and behold it was Nolan, the guy I dealt with while inside. As I spoke with him on the phone complaining about this matter and the inconvenience all he had to say was "OK" "it's just an estimate time" "we can't predict the actual time" no apologies and to make matters worst he just came off really rude. I gave this place a one star because there is no negative one, this place is ridiculous they buy from people they know / friends / family I went in there about two weeks ago I brought in some Levis jeans I had bought them in Mexico about two months ago for my son he wore them Once for a few hours all 3 pairs, it was so hot over there he stayed in shorts, since the sizing is different in Mexico after one washing they where way to tight for my son. Once my name was up on the board the little man said we will not be able to buy these??? I was shocked as they where brand new with the tags still on them? He said they are worn in the knees? I asked him to show me, he pulled an attitude and threw the pants on the counter he laid the brand new pants out and noted the knees where NOT worn?! He then said we can't buy these and shoved them in the bag and tossed it at me?? At that point he was extremely lucky I did not choke him, I would never go into this place again just rude unprofessional crew? I assume they only can buy a certain amount of things and he was saving it for his friends this place SUCKS read more

so this place is eh. the owner sucks at pricing and accepting clothing. the clothes i brought in were almost brand new! and of course he only takes 2 items. anyways i was going through the clothes, shoes & toys he had and i don't know why he couldn't take my items when the items he had on the floor were all messed up. some jeans had holes on them, some had stains, and some had lint balls! the shoes that were in the bucket looked overly used! like they belong in the garbage not a cosignment store! i was so disappointed. and yet forced to use my store credit from the 2 items i got $12 for! i'm sure if i sold it on ebay i wouldve gotten more , anyways i'm not coming back and i'm definately going to refer anybody there. read more

I have been coming here for years. I have a 3 year old son. I bought a lot of stuff here that I didn't get at my baby shower. They are good for baby accessories. Most of the clothes are in ok condition. It is about a 30 minute drive from where I live so I make special trips out here. I like to buy my son seasonal stuff here. I bring stuff in for them to buy (all boy). The store has a ton of girl stuff in it. Most of the time they only buy maybe 1-5 things from me and offer very little money, but you can apply it to your purchase. I would think they would buy more boy stuff because they don't have a lot. I will bring in my stuff then shop while I wait, and wait and wait. It's takes a long time. Today they said an hour, it's been 2 and I'm still waiting here. I have one bag for them to go through. I think people come drop off their stuff then come back later in the day. As I said I live far so I can't do that unfortunately. read more

I always heard from this place and at some point went to buy some clothing for my son when he was smaller. Recently went to sell some clothes and took maybe about 6 bags of clothing and got most of them back i got a really good offer for them. I got $45 which was probably a regular size trash bag of clothes. My husband was surprised and also really happy that we got something out of all the clothing we had. I am really greatful with the staff that helped me carry in all the stuff and went thru all the clothing to make me an offer. I thought it was a fair or more than fair offer for what i took I know they're picky as what I read in other comments of ppl who were upset or it just wasn't the outcome they expected. But they have to be picky in order to give others a good selection of clothing they have they're rules and any place would. Besides, its clothing for CHILDREN we are dealing with which can be preowned. I love they're work, and what they do, and they have great Selection. I wil return to this place to buy and also and one point to sell again im really happy with my outcome and carry on. read more

I have went to this store a few times was very happy when I found out it reopened use to go to the one in the other shopping center across from newpark mall years ago... I found the staff to be very helpful and friendly. My husband and I went here on a whim because we were in the area. Ended up getting a Chicco Ultrasoft Magic infant carrier for about half the price of a new one ($30). There was a pretty large collection of clothes too, and I couldn't resist a cute Pooh Bear onesie ($1.50). The ultimate score was a Fisher-Price swing I spotted behind the counter as we were checking out. Being nosy, I asked to see it and the staff were super accommodating. They plugged it in and showed us all the bells and whistles. I had the exact one on my registry, and the used one was 1/2 the price at $65. Totally thrilled! I have to agree with a lot of people, the owner, don't know his name. He is thin, glasses and crappy look on his face is always rude. I love the store and their prices on all of the items but there's nothing worse than bad service. I've also sold items there before and you really get ripped off on your higher end items. If you have used clothes it's fine if you want to make a couple of bucks, literally but you should sell your pricier stuff on Craigslist. The staff looks like they're terrified to speak, the owner is really rude. He doesn't think that perhaps we've been cleaning out our garage and that's the reason for peoples attire. Not all of us are scum bags. He also made me wait for hours, yes almost 2 hours before he chose to review my items and there wasn't anyone in front of me. He shouldn't take walk ins if "he is to busy to help us". He could care less that you're there waiting with your child. Then tried to rip me off on very expensive items and got pissed when i said no thanks ill take it back. He is just a jerk. I'm sorry you hate your chosen career or your life but you chose this career that requires customer service and we are paying your bills by shopping there. We all have problems and struggling with our lives but that is no excuse to treat everyone badly. Clearly we can't afford name brand top of the line that is why we shop at your store but that doesn't make us beneath you or worthy of your attitude and lack of respect.
