This is hands down the best Carter's store in the bay area. We usually find ourselves in the Livermore outlets, but I'm going to this one from now on. The store was clean and orderly. I found almost all the items I had seen on the website that I had my eye on. We had come in to get rainboots, but they didn't have her size and after checking the back, Adrianna was able to help me order online and have it shipped to my house saving me lots of time! What stood out is that I have two accounts and Adrianna took the time to check which account had the most rewards points before proceeding with checking out. That meant logging in and logging out 3 times which I know most people would not take the time to do. She was super sweet and efficient. I'm going to be kind because the service here is so great. My wife went here on Saturday. Swimsuits were 40% off, but they were still pricy (instead of being $24, each item was $14.40). When all was said and done, my wife spent about $120 (we were both shocked, and my porn allowance for the month took a huge hit). Because she spent so much, my wife received two $10 rewards (you "earn $10 for every $50 you spend"). They're good until June 29. Because it has a small mark on it, a plush puppy was only $2.99. It's cute, and our son really likes to play with it. A knit top for our son was only $8, and a woven bottom was $10 (I almost typed $210). I was very impressed with this location!! If you read my previous reviews, I had a very bad experience at the Carter's in Fremont, so I tried the Hayward location and will be going there from now on. Not only were the people working there friendly and helpful, but their store is immaculate. There was absolutely nothing on the floors, everything was nicely organized and you could tell everything was purposefully placed throughout the store. The thing that blew me away was all of the clothing was organized from smallest size to biggest size, and all the labels/colors of the hangers were appropriately matched with the correct sized clothing-- even in the multiple clearance sections they have! I mean you don't even see that at regular stores like Old Navy or Macy's, but here, it was obvious they take a lot of pride in that. I was pushing around my stroller, had my purse on my arm, and usually that makes shopping so frustrating for me. But this made shopping there so much easier. This location is not connected with OshKosh so that might help keep it neater and less cluttered, I'm not sure, but it was a vast difference between here and Fremont. I also called ahead to see if they had certain sizes of shoes, and the person that helped me (I unfortunately forgot her name) was extremely patient and helpful, and she pulled the sizes that I wanted, and kept them behind the counter so I wouldn't have to go looking through the store when I got there. I initially came in looking for a diaper bag which they don't carry in-store. While browsing I noticed their selection for clothing was large from newborn to kid sizes. Prices are pretty good since everything seemed to be on sale. Many of the items are lower then the list price on the tag. The store was organized and clean. My most recent visit I had the pleasure of being assisted by Destiny. Just wanted to share the awful and disrespectful experience I had to go through today in the store in Hayward, CA. I went to pick up an online order and decided to shop while I was in the store. I noticed an extra discount in clearance and asked the cashier "Morgan" while I was checking out if there was a way to do a price adjustment for my online order since clearance had an extra 30% going on and she said no since it was against company's policy, at that moment her body language change immediately she started looking annoyed for what I was asking, which was a very common question that Im sure most customers ask. I said maybe if I call customer service they will do it and they responded very sarcastic "they are closed today, they wont answer" I said I will try anyways and very rude responded "dont you understand? They are in another state and they dont open today" so I said then can you do it? But then another employee "Mercedes" got involved saying the same thing, I just asked again if they could do it for me for this time or if I could just return the stuff and buy it again (which is pretty much the same thing) but they started accusing me of asking them to do a violation and something against the store's policy and that is when I got very mad. I told them I used to be a store manager and that what they were saying was very wrong. I told them I was not asking them to get me something for free I was just asking to do a price adjustment and that they could do it but they just didn't want to. Morgan got so upset that she started giving me attitude and throwing my stuff in my bag. Her body language was getting every time more agitated and she continued accusing me to asked her to do some kind of a fraud. I told her, and Mercedes how poor their service was and that it was very disappointing to see the way they treated customers. I asked for a manager and Mecedes ended up being the assistant manager who didnt care about customer satisfaction and or experience. I cannot believe just asking for a price adjustment was going to ended up like this and after dealing with all that the security guard came up and got involved... he yelled to me in spanish "if she said no is no, dont you understand?" I asked him to stayed away from the conversation that he had nothing to do with it but he continued being aggresive and disrespectful to me and my husband. They all continue being sarcastic and laughing of us. I asked Mercedes to asked him to stop and she just said "i dont understand what he is saying" with a smile in her face like laughing of us but you dont need to understand spanish to see that some of the people that work for you is being disrespectful to one loyal customer. Is she really an assistant manager? Someone who cant even help a customer? I left the store and they were laughing and said "have a great day" how awful is that? Soooo disappointed, so disrespectful!I told them I was going to make sure their district manager will know about this but they didn't even care. I WONT EVER SHOP HERE AGAIN! too bad is the one closest to my house but NEVER AGAIN! No one deserves that kind of service! No body deserves to be treated like this. I want to make sure this goes to corporate. Im not asking for an extra discount in my purchase i dont need it and I dont want it! But want to make sure that you guys know the kind of people that you have working for you and that represents your brand... they dont care about customer's satisfaction! They dont care how bad they can affect your brand taking this attitude. Security guard needs to be checking for people who steal not getting involved in the conversation with customers and much less talking to customers the way he did! I will never shop at this store. I visited on Saturday, August 13th and it was a terrible experience. I was approached by a female employee how asked if I needed help. I politely declined and explained I'm just looking. She rattled off all their sales so fast it was intelligible and as she did the other employee were laughing. It was very uncomofrtable. She then returned to the cashier area and they were all laughing and yelling and hitting one of the other employees. It was awkward and completely unprofessional. The store has very cute clothes in general. But the reason I give this store one star is because I felt I was being profiled in some sort of way. The woman who seemed to be the manager in charge (tall blonde woman), kept following me the whole time I was there and even got on the phone and called a security guard to come and stand in the store the whole time I was there. It wasn't until I got in line to pay that I heard her tell him it was okay for him to go do something else as she stated,"now that everyone is in line..." Really, it's not me. We always shop Carter's to switch it up from GAP & Ralph Lauren but this evening we decided to check what they had to offer. Unfortunately, poor service was what was offered. I understand when there is a line & only one cashier but when the manager is standing right next to the cashier & the line is building to a point where 20 minutes later & you're still in line, well, that can make one to question the service. Waiting wasn't really a problem, watching the manager get on her personal mobile phone is a problem when she clearly sees there is a line building but refuses to open up a register thus extending the wait time. Giving a dirty look to me after mentioning this is also unprofessional. She could have simply said I'll be right with you rather than just ignore the customer. I understand retail I've worked in it. It's a first world problem but the manager is the face of the store & should lead by example. Sorry Carter's but you lost a sale at this location & even a customer or two.
