VERY DISAPPOINTED I purchased a baby item for my 3 month old son and noticed I was getting bit on the way home when I got home I inspected the item and noticed it was infested with fleas I quickly put it in a bag but it was to late that night myself my husband and my 3 month old got eaten up. So bad I had to take him to the hospital for an allergic reaction to the bites. I called the next morning the store wouldn't help they gave me the managers email and the manager never bothered to reach out. This is the worst store with the worst customer service. Staff was super nice but NOT a lot of Top-tier brands (like Mini Boden, Matilda Jane, Hanna Andersson, Sea etc), although I did find a Janie & Jack for $6.50 (I decided not to purchase because my daughter didn't need anything really). I really like this location. It's clean, the staff is generally friendly, they're quick with buys, and they have such a good inventory. I don't usually go in looking for anything specific but they always have a good selection of items in the sizes I'm looking for. Definitely the best Orlando location. read more

Consignment shop for baby clothes, toys, shoes and equipment like bouncers, strollers, etc. Nice variety and pricing on the clothing, especially for special occasions like holidays. For shopping, it's definitely worth the visit. I tried the consignment side of it for the first time and didn't really like that they sent me away while they evaluated everything I brought in. They also said some of my clothes was stained, which actually it wasn't. I'm fine if they didn't want to purchase some of my stuff, but, don't lie to me about the reason. read more

sara the "manager" Where do I begin...me and my children decided to take a trip to once upon a child to buy some clothes for my friend's baby shower, while I was roaming through the isles I spotted a walker that I had needed for my 8 month old boy. I walked back to the front where I see Sara and I ask her if she can take the walker down for me since it was high up, she gave me a dirty look and scoffed as she went to retrieve the step ladder. I waited patiently at the counter. When she came back she looked at me and in a really mono toned voice "can you show me where it is?" I replied with a simple "yes it's right over here" and I began walking into the isle. She followed and I pointed to the walker I wanted. She got up and grabbed it for me with no signs of struggle. When she came back down off the ladder she looked at me and said in a very rude voice "you could've grabbed it to help me" taken a back I simply relied "oh I'm sorry I didn't know you needed help", she doesn't say anything just throws the walker down picks up the ladder and stomps away. Feeling very offended I went back to the front and kindly asked Sara for the manager, she looks at me and says "I'm the manager, what do you need". Wow. What kind of manager acts that way towards customers? I visit once upon a child all the time and I have never had an encounter like this happen. All the other employees are very sweet and always helpful I dont know how they work with a manager that rude. I walked out without the clothes and the Walker and went to another store. great selection for babies, toddlers, children ( and dolls, lovies, etc. ) this store buys and sell stuff for babies, toddlers, and children! the kid ecosystem is here: clothing, select furniture, toys, books, goodies, accessories, etc. my neighbor buys the smaller sized clothing for her dolls, stuffed animals, and the like. the friendly staff is exceptional. a must see and worth while due to the economic fiasco of summer 2022. some time ago... Overall I like this store I always find cool stuff. Whenever I donate though they rarely buy any of my clothes which is annoying because a lot of my stuff is in better condition or style than some of the stuff they have. But when they do but they do offer me good price for my stuff I've never gotten a low offer so I'm always grateful for that. My biggest complaint about this store is the employees. There's 1 girl that's super sweet and I wish I knew here name but the other girls and few guys are rude. One time I was in there and they were talking about another employee who wasn't working but were saying how slow she works and doesn't get anything done and is annoying- not great teamwork to be talking bad about each other especially on the floor in front of customers. Although I was never into Barbies growing up, my four-year old daughter has become my little dress up doll. She is a total girly girl and loves different outfits I buy her. Most of the clothing I buy her comes from Zulily, because I can't fathom paying a lot for an outfit she will outgrow in months, but Once Upon A Child is a great local second-hand store to find a great deal! One of the store's positives is also a negative because there is a LOT of clothing stuffed into this store. While there are always options to sort through, it can be extremely overwhelming at times and the reason I can only bring myself to go a few times a year. People with claustrophobia and anxiety might have a tough time sorting through all of the options! I really think it would be best if they concentrated on keeping only like-new pieces instead of stuffing the racks to the brim. That said, you can find some truly adorable pieces here!! Halloween costumes are currently selling for under $10 which is unheard of. They also sell adorable (new) bows that I always snag a bunch of when I'm there. The toy section is usually a hot mess when I go so I've avoided venturing to that side of the store now that my daughter is a little bit older. In the past, I've ventured down the aisles, trying not to trip and twist an ankle. Overall, while I believe they need to declutter the store, I can always count on finding something adorable and cheap while I'm there. I highly recommend this location. By far this is the cleanest, most organized Once Upon A Child I have been to. The prices are great and the quality is excellent. You don't have to worry about stained or ripped clothing. As a mom of 5 my time is very scarce. I love that if I need certain articles of clothing I can find the size, color, and style very easily. The staff I have met are very friendly and the management is great. read more

Goodness! We were on the hunt for some ride on toys since I saw them post several online in the photos. Wish we could've seen them. The store is such a HoT MESS that we walked in and walked right back out. They should hire an extra person to clear the aisles for customers to be able to shop or they need a bigger space. I've been to several OUAC and this one is sadly the most unorganized one of them all. After experiencing what we did today I would rather pay full price. read more

I just did the annual back to school closet clean-out and set aside a basket of the better-quality stuff to try to trade in to Once Upon a Child. Since it's a busy time of year I decided to try the new Alafaya store, hoping they would have a shorter wait. I arrived around 1:00, dropped off my basket and was told about an hour and a half for them to evaluate my stuff. They gave me a call when my things were ready and I returned. They only took about half the items in my basket (3 Disney princess dresses, some books, and a few items of clothing). They offered me just over $20 for it. Meh. I probably could have sold the dresses alone on Craigslist and made more money, but I'm all about convenience. I took the cash. I ended up spending nearly all of my earnings immediately, I bought my daughter a school uniform skirt, a cute top, and three pairs of shoes (all good brands) for $20. So, that worked out well. What they didn't buy will go to Goodwill, and I saved myself a bit of money on back to school shopping. Win-win. read more

I love the Once Upon a Child @ Alafaya location !! People always friendly and helpful there, I always go when they have clearance event and really really helped me save a lot over the years !! Today is the first time I decided to try their "sell back", I was a bit nervous because I saw some bad reviews about the sell back experience at other stores, but it turns out it was great. Only took less than 20 min and sure, based on their demand, they only took 20% of stuffs I brought in, I have to take the rest home, but I was really pleased with what I got for the stuffs they took. saturday July 29th I shopped here last night right before closing and came out to a car that would not start , a dead battery. Worst fear. It's getting dark, in an empty parking lot with little light. Me and 5yr old, 3 yr old, and twin 8 month olds. A Spider crawled inside car, kids are freaked out and we are sweaty. I knocked on the store door and asked for help I have jumper cables and I just need a car to get it going, cashier said no sorry. I make a call help is on the way. All other stores next door are empty or closed. So 10 mins later I knocked on door and asked if my son could use the potty. She said "we are closed No!" with a face it was 815pm. I said "I know but this is an exception please have some compassion." Cashier said no! I waited 5 more mins now my daughter has to go potty she is crying she doesnt want to pee in her pretty dress and twins are crying. One in my arms the other in the car. I knocked again and asked for manager. Manager let my kids in and rolled her eyes! Unbelievable. We are all woman, we are someones children. Why do we have to be nasty especially in a time of need. Due to the lack of compassion I will be taking my monthly shopping visits to another location staffed with people that have a heart. This is the Alafaya Store store #130 in Waterford Lakes Orlando. Okay place to buy from but forget about trying to sell. I had a whole tote filled with clothes and a bag with shoes, books and unopened games. They offered $3.33 for a pair of shoes (the crappiest pair out of all I took in), a shirt and one game. Nope, I took everything home. That's a total joke. I had things in the tote that were brand new, worn once, expensive boutique modeling items....none of it was stained or worn out, I looked at every single piece of clothing. Makes me want to not buy here anymore because they are ripping off the people that sell to them, which sucks since I have 5 kids I buy lots of clothes for. read more

I was an avid shopper but due to the store manager I will no longer shop here, she is not customer focused at all. Very disappointing visit. I've sold a lot of baby gear and clothing to the Sand Lake location and because they are pre-buying before opening, I made the trek out to Avalon Park with a trunk full of clothes my children have outgrown, mostly Ralph Lauren shorts and t-shirts in good condition, no stains or rips. I had about 100 items and a MacLaren stroller, also in very good condition. I don't expect a fortune, but I did expect more than the $10.95 they offered me. It was insulting and I feel like I wasted my time, I'd rather just give the clothes and stroller to someone who needs them, especially knowing the store would try to sell them for far more than they paid me. read more

I was so excited about the location of this store. It was right around the corner from my parents' house which we visit often. It was clean and very neat! Great prices, too. I bought an outfit for each of our kids and spent 14$ I also got a matching bow for our daughter for this price. Great quality. I can't wait to go back. Definitely worth checking out! read more

My first time going there. I gave them a lot of stuff. Most of it was new. Tags on things. Toys never out the box. Things I never used for my baby. They took half of for $30. They told me I had one person ahead of me and it would take 45 min. It took over an hour and they put two names on the board ahead of me. There was a lady coughing spreading germs not covering her mouth. She was also was touching everything. It was a horrible experience. I should have sold on Craigslist or have a garage sale. When I remembered and went back they had taken out the most expensive pieces and offered me $20 and said they donated all the rest...including a walker.
