I go in here occasionally. I rarely if ever find anything worth buying, but that's ok. It's resale and it's hit or miss. What's most fascinating is none of the employees ever utter one word to the customers. I've noticed it every time I've been there. Even when I bought something once, crickets. Just bizarre. I just came out of there now and one girl was leaned over on a display table and on her phone. She never looked up, even when I was 4 feet away.? The other one was doing, I'm not sure what.....but zero dialog to me. Not a "welcome in" or a "looking for something specific"? It gets weird about 90 seconds in because it becomes uncomfortable to be there. Like you aren't welcomed. The many other times I didn't review. But today I decided to. Although usually employees mirror the owners so it's likely how they have been trained. I was in Buffalo Exchange this week and also White Dove. So it's not a resale industry demeanor. They couldn't be more friendly and nice. I believe Buffalo Exchange has 50 locations. Coincidence? No. I don't think so. And although I was a buying customer, I would never take my resale stuff to places that treat people like that. Why?, because to "sell" my things if I'm going with consignment, they are gonna need to "use their words." Buffalo's racks are packed out, a full rounder rack of Large dresses. PLRG, had like 7 dresses in that size. In contrast, the If I Were A Rich Man employees are super friendly. I will still go there. This was my last trip to PLRG. And to my theory of just say "hello", tons of inventory. read more

Sold here a couple of times just to get different experience but nah. I took in brand name both times have only got 4-5 items accepted for the ~40items brought in . The clothes they sell are junk and fast fashion and was surprised they didn't take more of my quality items vs the junk target sell. They also pay very little for each item, basically garage sale prices. Another pet peeve I have is when I brought my items in , they are neatly folded but after they rummaged through, they are just thrown back in the basket with no regards to peoples property. They expect a lot to give you a few bucks and have no care for you or your property. read more

My favorite little gem of a "thrift" or "boutique" store. Employees here are extremely nice and attentive. I've been coming here for years and always buying clothes from them. I'm actually surprised I haven't left them a review yet hahaha. I love that they have high quality items such as lululemon, Athleta, etc and luxury brands like LV, Gucci, Chanel and so much more. You can also turn in your items here and sell them. I've only had a few items that they accepted here but they choose the best items that has a good/luxury/great quality brand name. They also have an Instagram that they're very active on which I always look for their most updated items on sale. I've found great clothes here that I still wear up to this day after a few years. Items are affordable and it's a great place to find great deals. It's a 'grown up' alternative to the Buffalo Exchange (which I also love, don't get me wrong!); it's easy to find things in my style and my size, especially clothes for work where I have to be a bit dressy. I wrote a review earlier but I wanted to rephrase my thoughts. I will never do business here again because of how I was treated. If you have an issue with what I'm bringing in be professional and grown up enough to tell me so. It's not ok to be dismissive, ignore messages, calls and keep telling me "it's been busy" holding on to my items for over a week. How am I to trust a business when they can't be upfront and professional about what they want and don't want. If you feel that something is off then speak up rather than stringing me along and holding on to my product with no intention to sell it. That's not a professional business approach. read more

I have been bringing in clothes to re-sell here for several years. My clothes are ALWAYS in the best condition and current. Even though you take a "hit" on the $$ you receive, its still better than just giving away. THE MANGER CASS S ONE OF THE RUDEST OWNERS ..i have ever had the displeasure of dealing with. Staff is extremely nice and welcoming. I've been driving by the place for awhile but hadn't gone in. Decided to sell some items and browse around for replacements of what I was selling. With a name like "Poor little rich girl" I expected a lot of big designer items. But the biggest designer I saw was maybe 3 Tory Burch items. I felt the inventory was a little low, not a lot of clothing, shoes, or purses to look at. They maybe had 5 accessories, ie scarf, glasses, etc. But they had plenty of new items boutique items from other vendors. For they're used items, there was a lot of free people, mauve, similar brands. They had a small athletic workout section which was nice, but limited. Handbags was limited to maybe 10, but luckily I was trying to sell some to them. They give you 20 or 25% of what they sell it for, so know that before going in so that your not disappointed. Either they sell a lot of items right away or they are just really picky with what they take. Not sure. read more

Every closet could use a little cleaning. It only makes room for new cool stuff. Which is why I love "Poor Little Rich Girl!" I am a fan of recycling especially at a store that sells quality. The moment you walk through the door the friendly staff immediately makes you feel appreciated. I have to say out of all the consignment stores in the valley they have always been super friendly. I have never once not felt welcomed. I frequently drop in as they get new stuff daily. I have found many items with original tags on them along with some cute gently used items. I have scored on fitness clothing. Name brand items at a reasonable price. I have also walked out with some shoes that look brand new. I have brought in items for trade and cash. The staff approach for non accepted items have been professional. You will find items that from independent sellers from candles, jewelry and much more. My mom and I just love this thrift shop. My experience is only through shopping and buying, though- not selling. They have a great selection of clothes for women. They sell brands like Free People, Lululemon, Express, Banana Republic, Anthropologie and more. They also have locally made jewelry, candles, cards and other gifts. Really beautiful things! I've gotten a few shirts and dresses. Most have been in great condition, with only slight imperfections. Their active wear section is at the back of the store so make sure you don't miss it! They do have a frequent buyer program and sales. They also give you a coupon when you purchase that is good for $5 off within the next week. read more

Clothes used to be somewhat current but now they look outdated and visibly worn. I brought in a huge bin of clothes I just pulled out of closet and not one single piece was purchased. Most was in season and brands they carry. They always tell you to bring things back next season, I even did that and now they don't want those either. I was given a pile to "bring back in the spring" and when I said I brought back what they told me to in the fall and they weren't taking it I was told "oh well just because we tell you to bring it back doesn't mean we'll end up taking it..." seriously. For me, the key to Poor Little Rich Girl is to follow them on Instagram. They regularly post new arrivals with sizing and prices. You get to see the items in outfits and decide if it'll work for you. If you're in love, then call them and purchase the skirt/shirt/shoes/purse/dress over the phone. If you like trying on the items beforehand, then scoot your butt on in the door and pray the item hasn't already been snatched up (that happens. and quickly). It's a small shop and they're dependent on high end items being resold to them, so don't be too disappointed if you don't find something for you the first time around. My friends and I love shopping, buying, and selling with Poor Little Rich Girl. They have a great selection of clothes for women and a wonderful array of locally made jewelry, candles, stickers, and beauty products. One thing that makes shopping at poor little rich girl is the inventory is not overwhelming. I am able to look through the whole store, find a few items to try on, and make my purchases within 30 minutes! The sales associates are always very helpful, as soon as you select something from the rack they are offering to setup a changing room for you. They have a frequent buyer program and sales. They are very active on instagram, and you can purchase items that are posted over the phone. The clothes are good quality and have few imperfections. I absolutely love this store and although it's not close and has limited business hours, I'm happy to go out of my way for a business that prioritizes customer AND staff safety. I can't tell you how much I appreciate their well maintained and responsive Instagram page that I can browse through and ask if items are still available. I'm able to purchase items over the phone and quickly go in to pick them up, knowing the employees will also be wearing masks and limiting the number of people in the store. I appreciate their ability to adapt to the pandemic, while still maintaining excellent customer service and quality. PLRG is a cool locally owned consignment shop. As with most stores that re-sell other people's stuff, it's hit or miss; however, with PLRG I almost *always* find something. They do a much better job at organizing the goods -- jeans are on their own rack, organized by size; same with skirts; same with dresses. The tops are along the wall arranged first by size, then by color. PLRG also has jewelry, some consignment and some locally made by local artists. I've picked up a couple unique pieces that garner comments every time I wear them. PLRG does a great job of keeping in touch with their customers -- you are really missing out if you don't follow them on Facebook. They FREQUENTLY post pics of new items with prices, and even their mannequins have names! They'll dress "Coco" or "Lola" in cute outfits of pieces from the store -- jewelry too -- and post online. They email shoppers (with your permission, of course) with any sales coming up. This is the location they refer to as "Uptown". Definitely my fave consignment place in the Valley so far... read more

Love it! I have sold vintage before and I am always looking for great wardrobe for fashion shoots. This shop has some really great items, well organized and not over the top pricing. Alot of vintage, consignment and re-sellers take great pieces and up price them to a ridiculous degree - none of that here. I cannot say enough good things about this adorable resale boutique! I would suggest first that you follow them on Instagram as they post many outfits that can be purchased over the phone and these fantastic finds usually go quick. Not only is the staff incredibly friendly and kind, but they are so helpful when it comes to both buying and choosing an clothes. You really do get more bang for your buck especially if you turn your clothes in for trade. Another reason why I love this place and have been a patron for over a year now is because the selection is everything from T-shirts that start at $8 to Gucci and Prada shoes and purses. It's addicting to check their stories throughout the day and see what goodies they have posted. Staff is always super friendly & I appreciate how they have prioritized safety for their staff & patrons. I have been shopping and consigning at PLRG for YEARS now (back when they had the Arcadia location). I also consign at My Sister's Closet. I'm surprised to see some of these negative reviews on here- it encouraged me to pop on and write this review. Hopefully others will find it helpful. Wanring: this is a long one! As a CONSIGNER: In my opinion, PLRG is very fair and here is why. There is a distinction between a full on "consignment" shop like My Sister's Closet and stores like PLRG who buy UP FRONT. PLRG gives you two options. They will buy up front, which you can exchange for cash or credit OR for your higher end items you can CONSIGN, which means you don't get paid unless they sell the item. Consigning typically yields more cash in your pocket, but there is the risk that your item won't sell and you are left with keeping your item, or selling it elsewhere. PLRG is pickier because A. their store is set up more like a boutique with a smaller, more curated selection and B. they are paying you up front for your item. Therefore, if it doesn't sell, THEY are stuck with the inventory-- not you. For this reason, you will likely get less in cash/credit. When you take items to MSC, even if they accept it up front-- IF it doesn't sell, your stuff is just getting donated and you will have no idea unless you are calling to keep track of your individual items. Most of the time- you probably have no idea you just "gave your stuff away." Secondly- it seems like people are getting very butt hurt over how much they are being offered for their USED items. Think about what you would be willing to buy an old shirt or dress for - at consignment, on e-bay, on poshmark. Then factor in overhead like PLRG has to carry. Just because you spent $300 on a dress...that doesn't mean someone shopping second hand is going to be willing to spend even a quarter of that to buy it. I have sold on both ebay and poshmark for years- and trust me, I've learned over time that it is often times not worth the time and hassle to list things on your own. For this reason, I've learned to spend $$$ on the items I know I will love and enjoy for a long time OR that I use a ton. Reselling clothing, shoes, accessories-- no matter how good you kept it, will ALWAYS be at a significant loss. My method of closet clear outs- I will take to PLRG FIRST (using their online guide of what they are buying) since I know they are the most selective. Then whatever they don't take, I take to MSC OR donate to specific women's shelters. At the end of the day- I'm not selling anything I would want to keep anyways. So I would rather get rid of it in a sustainable manner vs. donating straight to Goodwill (they only sell 10% of donated goods and the rest are shipped off to 3rd world countries who economies are dying due to the obscene amount of cast off clothing from the US). As a SHOPPER: I really enjoy shopping PLRG. 98% of the time, I find something and it's great because I usually have credit from my items I sold. I like that the selection is not overwhelming. It's very organized, they do a good job of marketing new stuff on IG and since they are so selective of what they buy, in turn the selection is really nice IMO. I've tried shopping MSC, and if you have the time and patience- they definitely have a huge selection. But for me, it is just too overwhelming. I've found some amazing finds here at PLRG and it continues to be my favorite place to both sell and shop second hand. read more

I love this place. I can find something good pretty regularly at a reasonable price and excellent condition. They select good brands from what people bring them. The styles are current and well curated. If you want something fun, casual, and trendy without spending a ton then this is a great option. That being said I wouldn't go looking for a specific item. I like the idea of this place - repurposed clothing, good labels, decent inventory. In retrospect, I find that I can find similar styles, while brand new and at the same price when on sale. I can't reason paying $30ish dollars on a used Banana Republic dress, when I can find a newer style at BR on their clearance rack. The selling of clothes to them throws me off as well. They give you more money for your items, but a portion of it is store credit. In summary, I'm finding less reasons to come here, especially with so many crazy deals at department stores. read more

Well the space is pretty big, the amount of clothing is actually quite small. I find the pricing inconsistent, one shirt I was interested in was eight dollars another shirt was $38. And for the most part, they were all brands I didn't recognize so I didn't have a good judge as to the value. They do have a lot of cool little handmade soaps and other things that are not clothing or jewelry but that's not what I'm interested in. It took me about three minutes to go through all the items in my size. Another three minutes to try them on and determine that they wouldn't work. read more

I am in need of new to me clothes for emotional and logistical reasons! So I looked up resale shops and was reminded that I had this place saved in my favorites. So I thought cool I'll run by there today but was disappointed to find out that they were still closed due to Covid. However it states online that they are doing Instagram and online shopping so I immediately ran to my Instagram and started following them. They have so many cute things. It's a bummer that you can't try anything on and it seems as though nothing is returnable however the dress I did end up buying was super cute. I drove over after orderingVia phone and parked in the back. I followed my Maps and that's where it took me. The gal said she'll bring it out front and I assumed I was at the right door as it has a nice sign at the back. After about four minutes and no one coming out I went "huh, maybe there's another door" and drove around to the other side of the building. Lo and behold there was a front entrance. I called the girl back immediately and said this is Teresa again and I parked in the back I'm coming to the front now. She said "ummmmmm, okay we'll come out". I drove around and there was no one there. I waited a few minutes and eventually noticed a brown bag on the ground! It don't feel like it was the best customer service but maybe they're afraid of people right now! Either way, dress is cute and they seem to have a lot of options based on IG uploads. I was extremely disappointed with the lack of customer service my relative and I received in the store today. We walked into the store and the two retail employees didn't acknowledge us at all. We dismissed it and continue to shop. Then another customer and then suddenly they can speak back. We had enough when we were looking at the boots and then one of the employees with the short black hair walked over and didn't say anything. We left dismayed at our experience. Customer service matters and you lost a customer for good today. Update: I was reached out to by the owner and he was very apologetic about my experience.
