They don't take much stuff and they don't have a lot of boy options. I've tried to give them boy clothes but they never take anything that would actually be good things in the store. They have a plethora in the girl things...it's like 85% of the store. Anytime I try to shop for my son they have like two things and they look super worn and dingy. I would rather buy something new at Walmart for 10 bucks than spending that on a used item that isn't good. And their service is terrible. I dropped my stuff off around noon and they didn't get to my stuff until 6:30 pm. Not worth it. I'll just donate my clothes to someone who really needs them anyway. Those of us on a budget are always looking for quality deals on the tangible items we use most. Clothing for our smallest, or toddler children are some of the most expensive to find and once they grow some have to be replaced again and again. We try the flea markets and charity stores only to find most have not been cared for properly, so they tend to fall apart or just not fit properly. Once Upon a Child takes finding quality name brand clothing to new heights My experience at this location surpassed all my expectations. Not only did they separate the clothes by size, but they carefully surveyed each piece to ensure no missing buttons, broken zippers, or tears. The prices beat most lower end shops and the quality of the merchandise were like new or near new condition. Not only do they have clothes, but also books, toys, strollers and many items in like new condition which would cost an arm and a leg elsewhere. If you have children, or know someone who does then this store is a blessing. There is another location in Orlando, Fl which I look forward to visiting in the near future. read more

Not a big fan of this location. I've really tried. Even the workers at the one off Mandarin say this place is the "ghetto" one . The old lady that wears a bun and glasses is also very rude and I've seen the way she talks to kids. Not a fan and not shopping at this location anymore. The items here are hit or miss. Sometimes I walk out with many bags full, other times I walk out empty handed. The prices are usually great! Some items I personally feel are overprices, but usually they are fair. They have a wide variety of sizes and are organized well! Size, gender, tops, bottoms, seasonal, pjs, etc. Shoes are also organized very well-gender, and size are clearly labeled! They have a variety of other items as well-such as-toys, books, hair bows, blankets, baby carriers, strollers, baby essentials etc. The one thing that keeps me from going here is the customer service. EVERY SINGLE TIME I have gone here the employees ignore you. I walk up to the register to check out and they will look right at me, yet don't stop what they are doing to come ring me up. I actually left an armful of items at the counter and walked out of the store once because no one would come ring me up. To make matters worse-many of the employees don't say a word to you when they are ringing you up. Not "did you find everything ok" or "how are you doing today" or "your total is xyz". Customer service seems to be a common theme on these reviews. One would think management would step in and make some changes. read more

I originally was coming to write a negative review but I encourage everyone to read my review So I went to another consignment shop in search of a jumper/ exersaucer. I'm a first time mom and not crazy about paying full price for things when consignment stores have them. The OTHER consignment store was very overpriced and so I called Once upon a child regency to see if they had what I was looking for in store. Thankfully they did. I drove the 25 -30 mins to get there.. When I arrived to the store I was pleasantly surprised by the price difference they had so much more reasonably priced larger items! I found the exact item that I've been wanting and saw it said "brand new". I had my 4 month old with me and I was like perfect this is what we came for it says brand new it's sealed up underneath so everything should be there. Upon getting home I took it apart to find that the toys were missing :( so it wasn't necessarily "brand new". I called the store immediately and was told I have to return it and buy the used one just to get the accessory toys. I didn't want the used one, because I wanted the clean seat. Why can't I just buy the toys or even be given the toys? Like im so confused it's false advertising of stating this is brand new ! I was getting extremely frustrated at this point then asked for a manager. The next person I spoke with was telling me I had to return the item, buy the USED item just to receive the toys. I was like wait what?! No I should be able to buy the toys?? I don't want the one that had the seat that clearly had staining then I would be clearly cleaning more items. I want the cleaner seat I purchased I just want the toys. Thankfully the owner had just walked in. Bless this woman's heart. I explained everything in depth told her what the tag said and what I actually received. And she said she would put the toys aside for me to come and get. Once I cooled down and arrived to the store I was able to discuss with her I was willing to pay for the toys separately and even showed pics of what I got verses the advertising it "brand new" (again I'm a first time mom who had her kid with her; so I wasn't sure how it all fit I just hoped it was all there based on advertisement). Overall will I be back? If we are still living in Jax and I want to find a gently used bigger item then yes. Will I be more careful to fully examine the item; yes. Hope my review helps! $11.60. I had a bag of CLEAN, worn maybe once or twice clothes and upon pickup, I receive the majority of the bag back. I'm then informed that my CLEAN clothes are stained and worn. How? There were two pairs of shoes in the bag that they accepted - just say those were the only items you needed in your inventory. But to insult a customer and say their items were stained and worn out is utterly ridiculous and I will never suggest this place to anyone I know. This was my first sale and you can bet your bottom dollar it will be my last. I had gently used items, clothes from Nautica/Tommy Hilfiger etc. in the bag that I was given back. The AMVET folks were happy to receive them and that's my blessing for the day. As far as this store goes - don't waste your time nor energy. read more

I have been in some Once Upon a Child's stores and they were so - so. This one is large and clean. The merchandise is in very good shape and the prices are reasonable for consignment clothes for kids. I kept trying to get my 8yr old to look at some things, but she insisted that she was too old for this baby store. It does cater to the 6 and under crowd, but if you have a willing kid, they do offer a few items for the older group. read more

really wouldn't recommend this location I ought a swing got home tested it and it didn't even work at all I called the store to let them k ow I had a defective none working swing I live on the westside and bought this swing from the Atlantic Blvd location. being that I am pregnant I have lifting restriction couldnt lift to take down my apartments stairs to take back when I call to exchange they said all I needed to do was bring a receipt and if it was another swing that was more than I would need to pay the difference never once out of more than five employees I spoke to said anything about a time frame of return policy of 7 days called today talked to a manager and they said they couldn't take it becuz it was past the time frame read more

Super rude staff. I came in at 12:30 to sell some old items and the staff looked at me and got annoyed instantly because i had 1 bag. Was told it would take 2 hours and i came back after 4'hours and the ONE BAG wasnt even ready. Took until 7pm to go through it when the store was not even busy. Super frustrated. They have a big selection of toys but as far as clothes go DONT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY! Every single thing they have is trash & faded. They say gently used but I've found better clothes at yard sales for cheaper. I didn't see one item that was in decent condition. & God for bid you try to sell to them! DONT!! I brought in a tube of baby boy clothes that haven't even been used & TONS of name brands that we didn't even get to use. They took NONE of it. I made $13 & they literally took every bit of clothing I personally thought was going to be the ones they didn't take! Absolutely pathetic. Not to mention I drove 45 mins out there just bc I saw on here how good the reviews were. Pretty sure these reviews are from friends of the owner or something. I love Once Upon A Child. This location has a great selection of clothes. I recently visited to find a birthday outfit for my daughter's 2nd birthday and had the best luck finding a jumper that matched her birthday theme. I also purchased a Nike shirt for $4.50 - the original price tag we still on it ($17!). The clothes are well organized by size and gender. I have two complaints about this store: The quality of shoes they put out for sale and the associates. I have purchased sneakers here for my daughter with no issue, and I recently visited to find sandals. I found pairs that were cracked and frayed - horrible quality for consignment. The associates are not the friendliest. Maybe I visit too late in the day and everyone's crabby, but I've never received stellar customer service. I come here for the great prices on clothing. I asked if they had batteries for a bouncer I wanted to test before I purchased it and the person helping me was very short and rolled her eyes a lot when I asked. Sorry but I'm going to make sure the product is something I want before purchasing. Turns out it was not since it did not vibrate. Worst customer service EVER! I walked, in and 3 women were huddled around the "sell counter" deep in conversation. I was rudely told to go to the 4th register down to pick up. I took a large trash bag of my child's clothes to sell (many of which had price tags still attached for 30+ dollars a piece) they offered me $40.... I asked to see what they didn't want to keep as it looked like the majority of my stuff was in the "keep bin" (which is was since my child's clothes are all name brand, and basically new). When the lady who was helping me asked for my rejected clothes one of the lady's at the "sell counter" rudely grabbed my bag, and threw it out from behind the counter on to the floor. I was shocked as I walked back 4 registers to retrieve my items off the floor like a dog fetching a stick. After that I informed the lady helping me I was going to take my items, and sell them elsewhere and she said, "ok have a good day". I will never sell/buy from this location again. When working with the public customer service should be a minimum requirement. read more

I loved Once Upon a Child when I lived in Florida. Kids grow FAST! They constantly need new clothing, especially when they are infants and newborns. Once Upon A Child was so fun to visit, and so reasonably priced, they even buy your items at decent prices! I highly recommend checking it out. I've been coming here for years off and on to both sell some of my child's used clothing & toys and to also purchase items. They do have a lot of merchandise and are a GREAT place to go if you have a baby. Their downfall in my opinion is their organization and staff. I feel like this store and Plato's closet must be owned or ran by the same company because they are so similar. Even their price tags are identical. The staff here is better than Plato's but they could still be better. Most of the time they seem stressed out and not very willing to help. read more

I had visited this store a few times, but will not return after my experience last year. The customer service is always lacking and the girl who phoned me about my items after reevaluating them for buying flat out lied to me on the phone. When I called her out on it she basically tried to play it off like it was my fault. I have no problem complying with policy, but when I asked if she could tell me how much money they were going to give me back she said she "didn't have that information in front of her." I politely told her I could hold while she got the information and she insisted that she couldn't get it, that I would need to come into the store. I asked to speak with someone who could give me the dollar amount and she got really mad and said it's their policy not to give the dollar amounts over the phone. really slow service almost every time i checkout there, and they rob you when you sell to them. I think they should be a little more respectful when you for example bring in a pair of brand new sneakers ... Kids etnies.. That cost $50 and give you 3$ for them! ..oh wait I think it was $2.. Brand new! And you know they r going to sell them for at least $8 ! And it is a little frustrating when they pass on your clothes.
