Unethical practices. Asked for an estimate and they sent out a technician. Did not inform any prices before unscrewing two screws and turning the dial. Tried to charge $192 and did not warranty their work. The door did not close after 1 day. Stay away. read more

We called Vortex Doors for a repair on an automatic sliding door. The tech Kraig - yes with a 'K' - came 2/9/18 and said he could fix it. He would need to order the parts and would be out the following week to fix the door. Kraig never returned and we never received a phone call. We called on 2/27/18 and after they looked up the extensive job order that we had a copy of, the idiot on the phone said - oh, we're not doing that job" ?! No explanation, no reason, no phone call to say they couldn't get the part or this wasn't in their scope of work.. nothing. We sat for weeks with a front entry door - the only entry to the building I might add - with absolutely no service from this idiot company. We used them for our business because our door suffered damage from the wind. It was a Friday night and I called them. I know it would be emergency/after hours which would cost more than usual. However, both the call center person and then repair person I spoke with couldn't give me any pricing, I assumed it wouldn't be too bad. WRONG! I was charged $200 per hour, which included the time it took the person to get from the shop, do the work, and go back to the shop. An hours worth of work at my bar and it took 30 min each way from shop, which is way off. It's not that far. Anyways, short story long, we were charged $700 for an hours work. The work was good, I just hate being extorted. read more

Worst company ever!!!!!!!!!!!!! They are deceiving and have unethical practices. They show up for an estimate make you sign that you receive the estimate and then tell you after the fact that this is authorizing the work to be done. Never ever use this company. read more

Had window problems. The rollers went in and the window was scraping on the rail. Tried to lubricate here and there but it did not do much. Called them and asked an estimate. They would not provide it because they could not determine the service. It was understandable. Then the service man came. It was just turning the screw that controls the roller. It took 15 min and the service man also would not give any estimate. Days later the bill came. $208.20 = Labor $192 + material $15 + tax $1.20. What? I called them and asked the explanation. The rep told me that was the minimum charge. Requested further explanation. She gave me the detail: $128 for the trip charge + $64 per 30 min labor = $192. Material $15: the tech lubricated the rollers. I became speechless after the explanations. Never use this company. They do not tell you what they would charge. read more

Very expensive. Do not make sense,too. I replaces the door closer every two years from Vortex. Whenever I replace it, they charges me more than $300. Today,Dec 8 2016,I replaced it and fortunately found that C.R Lawrence covers the door closer that I bought from Vortex 10years. I told Vortex about this. But they said that is between manufacturer and I. Now, I see why they are trying to pick the broken closer. Sean K. read more

Company which doesn't care about their clients and brand ... One year ago we had an issue with a lock on the Vortex door. I called number on the sticker and ask for estimate, I was explained that it is special doors and need it special commercial grade lock and the price will be around $180.00. I agreed on price and placed an order. Master came and clean lock check all parts and told me that we do not need to replace this one it will work just fine, and it was working fine. Later that week we got the bill and total was $ 373.92 = Labor $216.00 and material 146.74 + tax 11.18...wow what was "material" nobody knows but my boss paid and it was the end of the story. 14 month later, I tried to open that door and it was surprise the cylinder came out with the key from that lock, I called them back with the question what we going to do about it, and the answer was that the warranty on the labor only 90 days and on "material 12" and nothing they will do about it, and If I need to fix this lock it will be charge again the same $374.00 and it will be again and again every 14 months... So, if I knew that in the beginning I would probably choose a different company... What make me really upset, that when I asked lady on the phone, look like your company doesn't care about clients and company name, her answer was quiet rudely; "we're installing doors and you look for different company to fix you locks....
