Full disclosure: I'm also an an Eyecare provider. I brought my two toddlers here to see Dr. Chun because I don't have all the equipment needed to examine their eyes myself. Also, they're much more likely to listen to "dr" than "mom". She gave a thorough exam including the important kid stuff like depth perception, color vision, focusing ability, etc and made sure to explain findings and expectations clearly along the way. What really stood out though was her rapport with my kids. My 3yo has NEVER left a pediatrician/dentist/previous eye dr visit without scream crying. After watching big brother go through his exam with Dr. Chun, she climbed into the patient chair herself and did everything Dr. Chun asked. I was shocked! Dr. Chun was able to playfully get through the exam and turned everything into a game so my 3yo was laughing and being silly while getting through the exam. My original optometrist would not be able to see me until two weeks out and I woke up with a stye under my eyelid causing me extreme discomfort. My eye was slightly swollen, tearing nonstop, and could not keep it open. Tried two other places before I called FLOE immediately they said they would stay later in order to see me the same day I called. I appreciate how fast they penciled me in and their forms were sent to me via email. Minimizing cross contamination which I worry about every time I go somewhere due to COVID. When I entered they took my temperature and everyone wore a mask. Clean, neat and organized environment. Before using or sitting on anything they cleaned it in front of me. Again making me feel safe. Dr. Michell Chun was kind, listened to me, and gave me holistic approaches to make the stye go away as well as antibiotics for a week. She requested me to return in a couple of days for a recheck. They offer Saturdays a HUGE help with my crazy work schedule. Lisa the (optical manager) was quick to find me a time and helped me find the perfect glasses that my insurance would cover and helped me stay in a reasonable price. I was finally able to get an appointment at the new office! The entire patient experience was very pleasant, efficient, and comfortable from beginning to end. Pre-test was super quick and stress relieving. Idk if y'all are like me and despise the air pressure test (the one that blasts air into your eye), but stress no more! They have a another type of tool that's less aggressive! Exam wise, Dr. Chun was thorough as always. Seriously, you can't go wrong with her! What I really appreciated though was total transparency with everything. No bs on trying to tell you that you need certain lenses or trying to sell you what you don't absolutely need. Now the next best part. Picking frames! There is a lovely optician, Lisa, who was awesome! She picked out some frames for me that would best suit my face structure which was helpful. They have a private fitting area that's super cool. You don't have to try on glasses in front of everyone so I was able to comfortably try on every frame I wanted! I was also able to be a part of the glasses making process! It was pretty cool to see the whole process happening in front of you. I was able to walk out with my new frames, same day. I've taken my daughter to many optometrists throughout the years and I can finally attest to Dr. Chun being the most knowledgeable, kind and caring eye doctor my daughter had an eye exam with. She takes her time with the appointment and helps my daughter understand the importance of wearing her glasses. My daughter thinks that she will become dependent if she wears her glasses all day but doesn't realize that she needs them more now than ever. With online schooling, group study sessions and countless screen usage, her eyes are more fatigue. Dr. Chun explained to us about ortho k contacts and the possibility of my daughter's prescription changes due genetics from my side of the family. I'm going to do more research and schedule a consultation to figure out if it will help my daughter's vision. I came here for contact lens and glasses, and I had the most helpful and professional service. Dr Chung is very personable and knowledgeable. She made sure to spend enough time to check my eyes and answer all my questions. She truly cares about the health of the patient's eyes. Some of the eye imaging exams are not covered by insurance but they are not pushy to have the customers do it. I personally think it is important to have those extra images taken to help the doctor better understand the health of your eyes. Lisa is amazing too! FLOE was the best decision Google search (or I) could have made for my eyes. I searched for a shop that carried Garret Leight frames and was directed to FLOE immediately. Super accommodating when it came to an impromptu appointment, the team was kind, caring, and fun during the whole process.
