I had lost the key to my 2005 Corolla and I bought a replacement from Toyota. I found out that it costs $180 to program the key! That is just insane. After the end of it I would have paid over $200 for a key. It was a good thing I found this shop. They are very knowledgable and fast. They made me a dummy key just to make sure that it would turn the tumbler before the exact copy was made. This was because I brought over the key from Toyota for them to cut. What a joke! I was calling around and getting price quotes to rekey a lock. JR LOCK and KEY was my first call and JR was pleasant and answered all my questions I had. My next call with these guys, of course, it was #2 on the list with 10 five star reviews, so I thought it was going to be another pleasant call. When I called, the guy picked up the phone and answered "YEAH" like I was bothering him... I said, I am sorry but who am I speaking with? He replied "you called the locksmith." I said "yes, but who am I speaking with?" as in, what is your name? His reply???? "ME" LOL... are you serious??? So I told him, you just lost a customer buddy. Going to JR LOCK and KEY. THANK YOU!!!!! I recently bought a 2000 lexus gs300 and it came with only a valet key. I called lexus first and they said it would be around $700-$900. I was like "WTF!!!!" They said the master key was $200 and they would recommend some guy to flash it that would cost about $500-$600 dollars. I called a few places and it seemed like that was a normal price. I asked if they could just make a copy of the valet key and everyone said no. I then found these guys on good ol yelp and he said that he could get a cloned key and it was gonna cost me $145. went down there, got my key made and he made sure everything worked. I figured I'd leave a review because yesterday I really needed help getting my key unstuck to the ignition and I tried everything you can possibly try when this type of situation happens so I called to see if they can help. They got my information down and about 2 hours passed and they never called me. I called again and drove even closer to the location they had in the maps and at the end I finally gave up and drove home. About 3-4 hours later my brothers kept trying they finally got the key out and I never heard from locksmith at all. I don't even think they bothered trying to help. Only took 15 or so minutes. If you're paying with cash he might cut you a deal. He even helped my jump my car afterwards because it was dead. I lost a 2014 Lexus car key and needed a duplicate. Terry, the locksmith, ordered a new key, had it rapidly delivered, then laser cut the key and programmed the fob so that the new key worked perfectly. His price was less than half the dealer's charge and he was incredibly fast and competent. As a courtesy he also gave me the leatherette key cover for the fob at no charge. That same day I had a broken garage door opener and he sold me one for a very inexpensive price, told me how to program it, and again saved me a ton of money over having someone come out to do the programming. Terry had the garage door opener that I needed in his shop. Since I needed all of my house locks changed he told me to take out the deadbolts and bring them to his office and he would charge me only a minimal amount to rekey them, saving me a great deal of money over the cost of a locksmith coming out to my house. By the time I'm done I will have had all my keys for my car, house, and garage serviced by Terry. Terry is a warm, friendly, humble, intelligent locksmith.
