I also find them to be much more reasonable then the chains as well. One thing that all yelpers can appreciate is that the owners are operating the business and they live in the community. They don't claim to be vets, but they sure are knowledgable about all animals. Another thing I like is they don't sell animals or try to adopt them out. It's just too sad seeing all those cutie pies caged up all day. Makes me want to take them all home. They do close early, by six during the week. I head there on my way home from work downtown and they are right on my way home. If you have a large dog like me (#mypitbella) then I can guarontee they have the lowest pricing on large bones and hot pink spiked collars as well. Stay local, support local businesses and get down to 51st and Clark Ave and take a look for yourself.

I posted a very unhappy review on Google and they got it removed stating that it was very inappropriate and unnecessary. Then I got the following message from them....Balboa is not a 9 lb dog, he is a larger morkie (20-25 lbs) and I personally groomed him in March. The tone of your message was unnecessary and inappropriate. Professional grooming involves significantly more time, skill and care than a simple haircut, and pricing ($85) reflects that. I stand by my service and the value provided. When I dropped him off I asked for him to have the same haircut that he had previously, which did not happen, hence the statement that I dropped off my 9-lb morkie and picked up a chihuahua. I was then told by the owner that I was no longer welcomed to bring my dog back there and I needed to find a groomer that was more satisfactory to my liking. She clearly didn't read my review because I stated that I would never bring Balboa back there again because of the horrific job they did on him. I'm more angry about the fact that she tried to tell me that my 9.2-lb morkie was a larger morkie, weighing in at 20-25-lbs. That is the most ridiculous shit I've ever heard. So all I have to say to whoever drops off their yorkie breeds, good luck, because you'll probably pick up a chihuahua instead of a Yorkie.

Not only did she give her a great bath but she was able to trim Leila's nails. To give some context, Leila usually has to be sedated by our Vet to trim her nails. Denise asked if she could try and I am so glad I agreed because she got three out of four paws done! That is a huge thing for my dog. Everyone at Yuppy Puppy is so nice and you can tell they do excellent work by just looking at them working in the back. The shop is always clean and it's very easy to make an appointment. My parents have been bringing their dogs to Little River for years and years and if it's good enough for my very picky mother and her very neurotic dogs, then it's good enough for me. Years ago, they had one incident where one of her dogs had to be rushed to the emergency vet, and they stayed with him well into the night and didn't charge her anything extra. Talk about amazing service. Even so, I wanted to check the place out for myself. When I called and spoke to Vinny, one of the managers, he put a lot of my concerns to rest and then scheduled me for a tour. They have plenty of fenced, outdoor play yards and heated/ air conditioned buildings and change bedding daily. You have the option to bring your own food, and you can also use the food they have there. Little River also offers more individualized options, like walks in the woods, one-on-one fetch, cuddle sessions, and more. Best of all, they offer a complimentary bath prior to picking them up.
