As a dog owner who has had a prior emergency while being away from my pup, I'm extremely picky with care for our German Shepherd. He has only been boarded in Jax at our favorite place, for that very reason. We were planning a trip to OH-IO and needed to bring our pup with us. After asking many pet friendly/owner friends, ALL of them recommended Pet Palace! From my first email to the date we picked up our baby, the customer service was amazing!! Each person was so helpful and efficient with my husband and I! Once we dropped our guy off, the check in was smooth and the staff was kind and helpful when answering our "check up" phone calls! Our check out process was very smooth and the exit bath was wonderful!!! Our pup smells like heaven!! I dropped my dog off here for boarding while my husband and I went away for the weekend. Before dropping him off we asked numerous times about the daycare schedule and when the dogs were able to play. We were told that our pup would have no problem and would be "so exhausted" from playing all day and he most certainly would NOT be left alone. While we were away, we checked the suite camera multiple times and noticed our pup wasn't playing at all and was stuck inside the crated area by himself for the ENTIRE day. When we called to complain we were told that boarding dogs are NOT guaranteed play time because they have enough daycare dogs playing each day. We explained we would pay for extra daycare time because we were so upset and didn't want him stuck by himself watching the other dogs play all day...and yet when we looked at the camera the next day he was still stuck inside of the crated area all day. We ended up ending our vacation early and coming home to rescue him. When we went to pick him up, the lady at the front desk joked that they almost sent our dog home with another family because he had the same name as another puppy staying there at the same time. I am completely scarred from this experience and I hope no one ever has to go through this. read more

After recently using their services, I'm sad to say I cannot use Pet Palace as a reliable source for my dogs wellbeing. My 5 year old pup has had some surgeries in the last year and it is necessary that he is taking his medication everyday. The last visit, I had counted out enough pills to last him the whole trip, and when I received the medication back there seemed to have been at least 3 days missed. I am upset that my pup must've been in pain for that long. I also paid for one on ones, but when I was watching his dogcam from his suite, (which I also paid extra for), it seemed that he only left his kennel to go outside and back. I am upset about the mistreatment of my dog and will never rely on this place to handle him properly. It will take a while for him to feel better and I hope they get their management under control before something really bad happens to a pet under their care. Be careful when booking a stay with Pet Palace if your pup or kitty requires extra attention, it may be too "extra" for the management. read more

Pet palace is a life saving five pet resort. We acquired a 10 month old Irish setter puppy and my wife works nights. We took Ike to pet place after a long research of the surrounding area daycare. It's spotless!! It is scrub down after play time and closing. The suites are adorable and spacious There are multiple areas for the dog including outside. The staff is caring and always have there eyes on the pups. I walked in without an appointment and was given a tour on the spot. I love that they also offer half days too Ike comes home exhausted. Our first daycare visit solidified that we won't be dropping our 4 month old pup anymore. Cookie still has to be fed 3 times a day (per our Vet) and we provided lunch in a small Tupperware at drop off. Upon pickup, they pulled open his designated drawer...pulled out his leash AND his untouched lunch. We asked why he wasn't fed when we gave specific instructions for it, and they said they couldn't find the food so they gave Cookie extra treats.... I asked why they didn't you provide at least Eukanuba or IAMS since that's what they usually provide to guests. They said it wasn't dinner time yet and they don't use their food at lunchtime. So I said, "ok, but you misplaced his food SO you decided NOT to feed him at all?" First impressions mean a lot and for a new client, they left a bad taste in my mouth. Instead of offering genuine reassurance that it won't happen again or discount for this or the next visit as goodwill (it's pennies, but it's called customer service), they just said "we're sorry we just couldn't find it. We dropped the ball on this one..." The food was IN THE DOG'S personal belongings drawer! Come on people! You just forgot to feed him! Not cool! read more

I love the Pet Palace and I'm sure my dogs do as well! I'd give 4.5 stars if I could. My long-haired 60-lb dog was groomed to perfection; her ears and paws were trimmed beautifully and her coat was lustrous. Nails were trimmed far down (but not too far) so they will take some time to grow out. I dropped her off in the morning with my other dog so they could spend the day playing in their doggie day care. My 70-lb short-haired dog got an exit bath which they offer as a bath you can add-on for about $19 after playtime (We all know dogs play with their mouths!). Both of them smelled delicious at the end of the day when I picked them up after work. We boarded both dogs over the holiday in a suite with a lifted dog bed, 3 walls and a wrought iron gate door and even a TV in the room. Now... this seems a bit much to me but it was the only availability left because we booked late. I was very pleased with the cleanliness of the facility when they gave me a tour. BEST thing about the place is the pure adoration felt from the workers towards the animals. I felt comfortable leaving my dogs there because I truly felt like these people cared and loved my dogs. Four stars because of two reasons: 1) The expense. Between the grooming, play time, and 7 nights (shared room) was about $800. 2) I received no feedback as to how the grooming went or how their stay was. Usually, at other businesses, I receive a little report card or something to that effect. When I inquired, they said they don't do that. I felt rushed at check out because it was so busy at the desk. I would like to know how they did with grooming, etc. read more

I am so bummed to say that I am no longer going to be going to Pet Palace. The last two times I have gone have been such a disappointing. If you read my original review, you will see I used to rave about this place but I'll just explain my last experience so you get an idea of why my view has changed. Last month I took my Dogs to stay here for a long weekend. My one dog has been there for two years now and this was the first time that I took our new dog. I filled out all the paperwork, had the vet fax over the papers, and we were all set. This past week over Labor Day I picked up my dogs again. This time, they were only allowing pick up on Labor Day from 5-7 which made for a lot of angry customers. I kept my cool because it wasn't the employees fault for these limited times. However, when I got in there to get my dogs, they said my one dog isn't in their system at all and I have to refill out all the paper. This wouldn't be a big deal but that paperwork tells you if my dog can't eat certain food or has to take medicine. My dog doesn't but if this was my previous dog who had loads of health problems, this would be a huge deal and that's why I got so angry. I also was upset that they didn't contact me earlier about this and I could've resent over the information because if my dog had to have special attention or mediciation, they should've known that. And if they looked up in the system that our dog who has gone there for two years has a vet down the street, they could've called and had the vet sent over information my other dog to make sure all was okay. After I refilled out the papers, they told me I had an outstanding balance on my account from our last month's stay....how?! I explained to the woman at the desk we pay what we are told is due, and she said well we owe another something amount of dollars. As we were talking about this, I told her that visit was when my two dogs were here too, when I originally filled out all this paperwork I am redoing. She looked so frazzled so she said she'd have her manager call me. When I sent an email explaining my frustration, I received a voicemail back where they apologized for our inconvenience and "if we don't see you again, we enjoyed taking care of your dogs". They didn't even offer any resolution. It was very disappointing. I am sorry to see a place I used to love make a mistake like this. I just personally cannot trust taking my dogs there anymore unfortunately. The staff is nice, the place is clean, and this could just be a one time occurrence but that is all it takes for me when it involves the health/safety of my dogs. read more

My puppy has been here about a dozen times. It is always clean and smells fresh. She literally runs inside and is so happy to go to doggy day care. They feed her lunch and she has play time, exhausted when we get home. Intermittently she receives cute report cards and the staff updates me on how she did that day. I'll start by saying we've never had any issue with how our dog has been taken care of. The staff truly loves animals. That being said we have never had a smooth check out when picking our dog up from boarding... And I mean never. Every single time the boarding has been messed up in the computer and the staff do not know how to fix it. It takes hours for a manager to call us back and fix the over charge. Pet Palace has also gotten rid of their boarding special which allowed you to buy a lump of ten days at a discounted rate. This promotion was one of the only reasons we tolerated the continued administrative issues. We will now be looking for another boarder. read more

I realize I'm the only poor review, and I seldom write negative things unless I feel strongly. 1) First visit: My dog is a rescue who was aggressive before we rescued him. All prior instances of aggression and behavioral issues were disclosed. Upon calling to check on him, I am told "are you aware that your dog is aggressive?" I say, "Yes, I noted that with your staff." he says "oh yes! I see that now." Obviously my dogs file was not thoroughly read. 2) Upon pick up from said 1st visit, I was told he was upgraded from an extra large room, to a royal suite (free of charge) in order to handle him easier due to his temperament. This redeemed Pet Palace at that moment. When I went to schedule another visit several months later, I booked the royal suite with ease of handling for staff in mind. I got a phone call saying that they wanted to move him down to an extra large room to better handle him. What? I purposely booked a royal suite because you said it was better for the dog AND you last time. I did not confirm this to be OK. A few days later I get a confirmation call, telling me that "you never booked a royal suite in the first place." I checked my email reservation which said "royal suite" on it, so I knew something was fishy. The manager had to call me to explain why an extra large room was now suddenly easier... OK.. Whatever. I let it slide. 3) I was to drop my dog off at 7pm Saturday, and pick him up at 7pm Sunday. 24 hours. They were going to charge me for TWO nights instead of one... That's just poor pricing. 4) Go to drop my dog off with updated records, and they are not properly noted for his updated bordatella, which was issued 3 days prior. Though the vet did not send me the correct records (and will be getting a phone call from me come Monday) I was turned away without so much as an ounce of an attempt to try and help. My trip was canceled, deposits lost, and non-refundable hotel costs lost. I won't give this place one more opportunity to upset me. read more

We LOVE Pet Palace. We were in search of a Doggy Daycare for our almost 1 year old Boston Terrier, Charlie. We happened to drive by Pet Palace about a month ago when they had just opened. We stopped in to get more information and the manager was very accommodating and informative and more than willing to give us a tour. The staff was friendly, the facility is very clean and well lit, the dog suites are spacious (and adorably decorated). There are multiple areas for the dogs to play including outdoor space. They separate the big dogs from the little dogs, which was important to us, being that Charlie is on the smaller side. A little back story....We had had a negative experience about a month earlier with another Doggy Daycare facility. Nothing traumatic but we felt it was loud, crowded, and just got an overall bad vibe. Charlie seemed to be stressed out by the whole situation and didn't seem to like it after a trial run. So going into Pet Palace we (and Charlie) were somewhat apprehensive. Charlie is a happy and rambunctious puppy but is definitely shy around new people/situations.We have been to Pet Palace close to a dozen times now and Charlie has certainly come out of his shell! The staff is excited to see him when we walk in the door, knows him by name and has taken the time to make him feel comfortable spending time there, including one-on-one time with him. And when he comes home at the end of the day he is pooped! We are so happy we found Pet Palace. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a day care for their pup! read more

Pet Palace took great care of my 2 Shi Tzuhs. They boarded there for 11 days in an extra large room where they had a bed, 2 blankets and a bowl of water at all times. They were taken out 3 times a day free of charge but I also added group play. I was watching them through the web cam several times a day and I could tell they were not stressed out. I particularly liked the evaluation sheet that came with them stating what they liked to play and with whom (dogs of course). Poco had to take one oral medication, ear drops and eye drops twice a day. They sure gave him his meds because his lesions were gone. I am very very pleased with the service. My dogs came back happy and clean together with a pillow that I sent with them. It was also cleaned for me. Thank you Pet Palace read more

Our 8 month old golden doodle LOVES Pet Palace! She comes home happy and exhausted from playing with her buddies in doggie day care. They do awesome grooming, too, and I feel it is less traumatic since she already likes and is comfortable at Pet Palace. She has been groomed twice by Nicole and once Dorian cleaned up the choppy mess around her eyes and beard that I made! Both groomers totally understand what each breed and fur/hair type needs and seem to genuinely love the dogs. Cleoh was groomed yesterday and came home beautiful and smelling yummy - pumpkin spice season! read more

AMAZING A+++++ GROOMING SERVICE. This is the 3rd groomer we've taken our 1.5 year old 90lb golden retriever to. It was, by far, THE BEST and we will definitely be coming here regularly from now on. I only wish we would have found them sooner. For the same price as the other groomers ($55-60), they washed, trimmed/feathered his hair, blow dried him, cleaned his ears, and cut his nails. I didn't realize how mediocre the other groomers were until I went to pick him up and saw how amazing he looked! Our dog is very finicky and playful. The other 2 groomers we took him to seemed to have hurried through him; skipping his ear cleaning, nail trim, and the long hair on his feet or behind his ears because "he is a very sweet and loving dog, but a handful" (exact quote from the lady at one of those places). Pet Palace handled him professionally and calmly, and were able to pay attention to all the little details of his care. And he seemed in such good spirits when I went to pick him up! They also went above and beyond by being up front, and informing me they couldn't clean one of his ears b/c he seemed in pain when they attempted, and they thought he may have an ear infection. He never showed any signs at home. Sure enough, when I took him into the vet this afternoon he was diagnosed with a yeast infection in his ear and given medication. I'm really glad Pet Palace caught it! The Vet and vet techs were so impressed by the grooming job and how they caught the ear infection, they wanted to know who I took him to so they could refer other customers. My mom and I dropped our dogs off at Pet Palace because we toured the new facility and felt comfortable. The staff was very nice and helpful. However, one of our dogs had an issue during the night and nobody was there to help. in the morning, we were notified of what transpired and realized one of our babies wouldn't be coming home. We have been heartbroken ever since. I like to think we are reasonable consumers and realized things could happen, I just never realized it would happen to us. I guess we really only have ourselves to blame since we knowingly left them somewhere without supervision at night and tried to save a few dollars in the process. We should have known better as parents. This pain is unbearable and I am only writing this review so maybe I can help someone else not have to experience similar to this. read more

We toured other boarding kennels and liked this one best. Our dog is only a year old and we are extremely attached. The people are friendly and accommodating. We receive upgrades if they are not full and a grace period on pick up times. That goes a long way on customer satisfaction. One minor bleep is that we like to get photos of our dog while we are away and their system for this is hit or miss. But not a big deal.We leave her brand of food for her so we haven't had any issues with stomach upset at all. More important is that we feel she will be safe and happy while we are gone. She is a social dog and the playgroups are great for her. Daily report cards also let you know she is being watched over. We like this place and recommend it. read more

We bring our large dog here multiple times a year when we have to leave for a day or two, and we are always so happy with their services! Our dog knows it's time for Pet Palace when I pack up her tote bag, and she can't wait to get there! The staff is so friendly and seem to genuinely care about every pet they encounter. When we go away for more than 2 days, they write up a "report card" that includes comments from every staff member that interacted with our dog. Of course, as with many other boarding services, they are indeed busiest around the holidays, so I recommend booking far in advance of when you need it. Their online booking form/tool also makes reservations so easy, and their rates are very reasonable for such good service. Their extra treats offered (Frosty Paws, peanut butter Kong, etc.) are lovely to leave for your pet while you're away. We will for sure be visiting Pet Palace again for our boarding needs! read more

Just had our second doggy day care at Pet Palace. The place is very clean and the staff are all pet lovers. Echo, our English Cocker Spaniel, has been lonely since our older dog died a few months ago. She is quite timid and the wonderful staff have been lovingly encouraging her to be around the other dogs. The play groups are divided into 2 sizes most of the time. Today Echo was introduced to some of the larger dogs and she was not fearful. She socializes with the others, but has not yet felt ready to join in the fun and games. The staff reassured me that this will come in time as she gets more comfortable in these new surroundings. So far, I am very impressed with the dedication of the staff to the pets they care for. I encourage anyone planning to go there for the first time to ask how your pet did during their stay. They are happy to provide you with that information. I also called during the first day to check on Echo, really more for my peace of mind. We plan to continue going to Pet Palace! read more

This was truly not a palace for my dog @petpalace. It is highly unfortunate how things transpired at this kennel as I had high hopes. Upon my pet returning home he had diarrhea. I immediately contacted them and was told, "OH, we are sorry we forgot to mention he had loose stools this morning, but the days prior he was totally fine eating and pooping were all normal." He continued to have diarrhea the entire evening, lethargic, not eating, not himself AT ALL and vomiting. This went into the next day which now turned into bloody stools, thank God he was at least drinking. I had to clean up diarrhea all throughout my house for almost 4-5 days straight, running him outside in the middle of the night and morning, remind you he is potty trained to go outside. I then tried some home remedies which provided little to no relief and then took him to the vet. Several test were performed upon the vet's medical discretion and after talking to the assistant manager I was told if I took him to the vet to fax over the receipt and they may cover it as it has been done in the past. So this is not a first time occurrence I thought to myself. Of course I faxed over the bill and after a couple days was told they would NOT cover the bill because the vet performed several test they "normally," do not see and after written documentation from their records there was nothing wrong on their end. Now my dog is on a grain free diet and drinks bottled water, so there are several issues or events that could have transpired leading to the cause of these terrible events and his symptoms at this kennel, but based on human written documentation there was no negligence. Unfortunately it will be hard to prove them wrong, but humans make mistakes. Take away what you will with this post, I just know myself or anyone else associated with me will NOT return or consider this "pet palace," ever in the future. read more
