I also appreciate that he has walk-in hours available for emergencies so you're not waiting for weeks (or even days) when you have an emergency or need to see the doctor urgently. (I've even had to schedule an urgent pre-op appointment and they worked really hard to make it work with my limited timeline and the doctor's limited availability). His front desk is also really great. If I need something, I don't need to ask for any specific person, they all know how to handle questions, cases, and concerns. Truly, they are great at what they do and they're incredibly efficient. When I ask for a referral or let them know about a concern, I know I don't have to follow-up and I will be hearing from the doctor or the office SOON. I even had a more urgent case that I wanted dealt with as quickly as possible, so I called and got the office's email and sent them the necessary paperwork before my specialist did and I had a referral and follow-up material within 24 hours. When you have lab tests, tests or xrays in general, or anything that requires your attention, someone will call and follow-up and update you on the situation and potential next steps. They may not be the gentlest about it but I prefer a straighforward approach so that I can handle whatever I'm dealing with as quickly and as best as possible. This office is kind, efficient, and very good at what they do. I've been coming here for YEARS, have gotten my family to come here as well, and hope to continue to be coming here for many more years to come. A truly fantastic doctor and office.

The doctor is consistently disrespectful…read moretoward patients and unwilling to provide even basic help or answers to simple medical questions. Every request is met with resistance, suspicion, or refusal. She appears more concerned about protecting her license than actually helping her patients, which makes no sense when patients are simply asking for basic care--not anything illegal or inappropriate. As a primary care doctor, answering basic questions and assisting patients should be part of the job. Instead, she questions everything, dismisses concerns, and refuses to help unless something strictly requires her signature. This creates an uncomfortable and frustrating environment for patients who are simply seeking care. The office staff makes the experience even worse. The front office manager is extremely rude and unprofessional. The physician assistant is also disrespectful and unhelpful. Phone calls are often unanswered, and when someone does pick up, staff members are rude, talk over you, or even yell. All they seem to care about is collecting co-pays and billing insurance, not patient care. The only positive person in this entire office is Mina, the Front receptionist. She is kind, respectful, and genuinely willing to help. Unfortunately, she is the only one. My wife and I have both been treated disrespectfully, and after this experience, we will never return. I strongly advise others to choose a different doctor--one who actually listens, respects patients, and is confident enough to provide care without fear. Very disappointed and will be changing doctors.

I've never had such a disappointing experience with a doctor. I recently moved to OC and chose Dr…read more Saam after researching holistic-leaning providers. Before my appointment, I signed paperwork stating that discussing anything "outside" an annual wellness visit could result in extra charges. Staff assured me repeatedly that I wouldn't be billed for anything additional since I was just there for my yearly physical. The doctor saw me for about two minutes - asked my age, listened to my heart, and left. There was no physical exam, no real discussion about my health, and no guidance about next steps. She sent me to get bloodwork and told me she was just running routine tests covered by insurance, but she added additional tests (like checking vitamin D) without my consent. This cost me more out of pocket, and I am now left with about a $70 bill for what should have been routine, fully covered bloodwork. She also sent me for an ultrasound at a clinic without explaining any cost implications. I ended up paying $900 out of pocket. Previously, I've always had doctors explain costs before ordering expensive tests, so I expected the doctor to have my best interest in mind and give me a heads-up. I felt blindsided and like the office prioritized billing over patient care. Even one staff member quietly told me that I wasn't the only patient who walked out feeling this way, which made me realize this isn't just my experience. Weeks later, I received a bill for an additional "office visit," despite the doctor spending almost no time with me and never performing a full physical. When some labs came back slightly abnormal, the office called briefly to share results and billed each call as an office visit. I left feeling like I received no meaningful care, was rushed through the process, and was billed for services I never knowingly agreed to. I now have to go back to my previous doctor an hour away just to get a proper physical for the year. I hope the office corrects the unnecessary charges. I also hope this helps others avoid the same experience.

She addressed 100% of my questions and was personable enough. She seems knowledgeable and very professional. She is the type of doctor that tests before she pushes a drug which puts her at an advantage to other Doctors in my eyes. I don't like the trial an error method that many physicians use when treating their patients. It's dangerous and careless. Dr. King did thorough testing before she diagnosed and prescribed. Specifically, she discussed respiratory problems and fertility challenges. I felt that she met and perhaps exceeded my expectations of my office visit. I visited her at Irvine Odyssey, so perhaps it is fair to also give feedback on the office as well. It's clean, modern, warm, and most importantly efficient. I don't think I waited more than 5 minutes. I hate that awkward feeling that you get when you're in that uncomfortable hospital gown, the waiting room is cold, and you just keep wondering if you should take your socks off too?... there wasn't too much of that during my visit. It was easy to make any appointment. Although the front desk was busy, which made for a less warming welcome- you can tell that they work like the old school type offices where the doctor interacts with the staff and everyone keeps informed and on the same page. I should've given this review 3 weeks ago after my initial visit... but it wasn't until now that I got the chance to. I just called today because I needed information about allergy testing and Dr. King talked to me on the phone. She sounded rushed- which makes sense because she didn't make me wait while I was in the waiting room, others shouldn't have to either. I would've liked to have finished my sentences- but I appreciate her taking the phone in the first place. I would recommend you seeing her- and if you're the type of person that requires extensive time during an office visit, ask the front desk to schedule you during one of the SLOWEST times of the week. That's what I would do! As for me, I usually prepare a list of questions- do research at home- and I show up prepared to listen to the Dr. and learn.

One year in particular, I flew back from Thanksgiving and caught a nasty flu on the flight over. Not sure what to do, I went to the walk-in clinic (at Dr. King's old location) she was incredibly helpful and also understood my non-health insurance (meaning potentially expensive) situation and she was incredibly helpful. She also helped write a few notes for my local GP (UK doctor). Since then, I have visited Dr. King once more in her new offices and they look great. I've seen other Yelpers comment that she has a nice staff, which is true as well. I recommend Dr. King and her practice. Good luck and feel better!

I've been under the care of Dr. Buten. I appreciate his efficiency, but also his time to care about my health and goals. I feel like he strikes a great balance with not spending forever at the doctors office, but also gets the job done. I've primarily only visited with him, so can't speak for the PA staff, but think his care is great. He is also very responsive on the portal, which is much easier than calling--love that feature! All of the staff are courteous and nice when I've had to come in. It's somewhat easy to get an appointment within the week or so. Office is clean and organized. I was on 60 mg of prednisone when I saw her and steroids is known to cause a ton of unwanted side effects including weight gain. She immediately started associating any sort of pain or health issue I had with my weight (I was and currently am not overweight) when I've told her multiple times that weight gain is normal for steroids - I've been on it multiple times and the weight just sheds off right away when I'm tapering on this medication. She proceeded to tell me I can only eat 1200 calories and some absurdly small amount of sodium a day and gave me a sheet of what I can eat (according to the other reviews it looks like she does this to everyone else). Her office also runs like it's the 1900s so nothing runs off of modern technology. I've seen MANY MANY doctors in my life and this was probably the worst, most unprofessional experience I've ever had with one considering I only needed a specialist referral. I switched doctors immediately and have since lost all of the prednisone weight after tapering off of it as expected. TLDR; If you're not stick thin you're just wasting your time going here because she's just going to associate anything with your weight and provide extremely unhealthy recommendations for your diet. Please look elsewhere for a doctor!
