I switched to One Medical to have a pcp practice closer to my home on the east side of the city. My spouse recently switched as well. I've been a patient for a year. I chose Dr. Timothy Lee as my pcp and also see NP Michelle Patterson regularly for wellness checks. I also saw Dr. Jillian Noyes once when the others were not available for a last minute rush appointment. I've been so happy with every member of the health care team who has treated me. I feel like the team spends more time with patients than at my previous practice. Bloodwork, prescription refills, referrals to specialists, follow up...it's all done quickly. The staff is friendly, the offices are clean and fresh, and it's all a nice place to go. It never feels hectic. And of course, the app makes it easy to schedule appointments. I'm very glad I made the move. I have neighbors who see other health care practitioners at this office and are equally happy with their care. read more

I love all the convenience One Medical offers. The membership fee is ridiculously high but it's worth it for me and my husband for our needs. In my four ish years of being a member, I've had to switch PCs twice since the ones I had moved on to another practice out of DC. Fortunately, all doctors have access to previous appointments notes so I didn't have to fully explain every single thing I've mentioned to my newer doc. I want to note that I also attended a stress and anxiety program called Shift and found it very helpful even though it was personally difficult to commit to the weekly evening appointments. Those sessions came with snacks (yay! Esp for my long days), reflective discussions, resources for more info, and just my copay per visit. I highly recommend it if you're trying to find physical ways to manage your mental health through stressful times. read more

I've been spoiled when I lived in New York because my company had a health clinic in the building, and you could go see a nurse practitioner for whatever health problem on the same day. When I moved down to DC, my new company unfortunately did not offer similar services but I thought that I could deal with going back to regular hospitals. However, one fateful Memorial Day weekend, I rubbed my eyes after a day playing around in the pool and found myself with a puffy, swollen eye. No one in-network had same day ability to see me, so I decided to bite the bullet and pay the membership fee to One Medical. Six months later, I am still a happy camper and would not consider going back to regular hospitals. I see Christine at this location, and she is great! She has treated my eye along with various other ailments, and I've already done my physical (bonus - you don't have to fast before the blood work!). There is also a consulting element to the online portal if you are traveling abroad and need to inquire about any shots. I got my typhoid shot before going to Morocco and knocked out my flu shot in the same appointment. The membership fee may be hard to swallow at first, but it's a precise amount that I can control (as opposed to going to urgent care and having to deal with unexpected costs). Plus, every appointment starts right on time, which allows me to stop by during my lunch time without missing too much work. I love that you can go into any One Medical (I think there are at least five in the DC area), as long as there are open slots available. I caught a nasty cold/bronchitis over the holidays, but was able to snag a Sunday appointment in Adams Morgan and get desperately needed medicine. read more

SECOND TIME IN A ROW they cancelled my appointment at the last minute after I took off work. First time, they didn't bother to let me know before I showed up in person. This time, they called less than 2 hours before the appointment when I had already taken off work. I've needed this appointment for more than 3 months and have *still* never seen Dr. Shukla because she keeps canceling. I'm so frustrated--do they think people can just infinitely take days off from work?? I thought OneMedical was supposed to be easier than other providers, but my experience to date has been terrible. Maybe it's just Dr. Shukla, but this is so disorganized and disrespectful. read more

One medical has illegal billing practices. They are billing me for charges my insurance company already said are disallowed and I have zero patient responsibility on. I have provided one medical with the documentation proving the charges are disallowed and I'm not responsible for the charges yet they continue to refuse to remove the charges from my one medical account and keep sending me bills demanding I pay them. The medical care I have received from One Medical as of late has also been extremely subpar, poor care. I highly recommend seeking care elsewhere. read more

Joining this practice was one of the best decisions I've ever made regarding my healthcare. The office is super clean, the staff is wonderful and professional, and every time I've visited the wait time was non-existent. I see Dr. Sibyl Siegfried and she is awesome! She's super knowledgeable on a variety of issues and works with you on any questions/concerns you might have. As someone who usually gets nervous visiting a doctor's office, the caring touch from the front desk staff to Dr. Siegfried alleviates that pretty instantaneously. It definitely is a different type of experience visiting a PCP at One Medical vs. a traditional doctor's office, and is by far well worth the annual fee. The level of care is excellent, the convenience is awesome, and everything from check-in to checkout runs like a well oiled machine. I would definitely recommend One Medical to anyone who is looking for a great experience and a great medical team. read more

When my insurance changed from Kaiser to Aetna I was devastated. Turned out to be a blessing in disguise because I joined One Medical and started receiving the best care I've received in almost 20 years of being a DC resident. As a busy mid-career professional, being able to schedule an appointment mere blocks from my office and, if needed, get a same day appointment, is fantastic. Not to mention never having to wait to be seen?! Absolutely worth the membership fee. I see Susan Kim at Metro Center, Sibyl Siegfried at Union Station, and Sara Shiffman at Union Station. All three are amazing. Appointments start on time. If you're going to be late, call ahead to see if you can still be seen. If it's 5 minutes, you might be ok - if 10, probably not. If it's your first appointment at One Medical, be certain to be early. Note: if you want to schedule back-to-back appointments, eg: one with a primary care and one with a specialist, you can, but note that insurance will only cover one visit to a One Medical provider in a given day. I discovered this by trying to be efficient with my time out of the office and it backfired. read more

I really want to like them, as they came highly recommended by friends. I have a great feeling about my doctor, this review has nothing to do with her and everything to do with the professionalism of other staff. I've never had an issue in person (but I've only been once). I've been trying to get prescriptions filled since January 4th and navigating one medical along with a new insurance company, has been a learning curve. I'm completely understanding about things out of their hands and insurance issues. However, One medical's communication has been lacking. I've called and emailed due to needing pre authorization for a medication to be filled and not being updated about the status of it. My doctor told me to call back on friday (a few days later) if I hadn't heard back, so I did. Still no answers. Sunday, I called and emailed again on hope's of knowing if I'd need to take time off work to fix the issue. The Dr. whom responded initially ignored the question regarding the one medication and answered regarding my other questions. I asked again, she said she'd get back to me...but didn't. I called Monday, they told me to call my insurance. Insurance said two requests were denied because One Medical hadn't responded to 2 faxes from my insurance company. They then provided a direct phone number to a representative regarding the matter for me to give the office. Today, I called back to check the status again, since I still had not been updated. The first call was extremely pleasant and left me reassured, I wish that was my first impression of One Medical. The person who answered the phone assured me she would contact my insurance company to see where it stood and I should expect to hear back within 30 min or so, by phone and by email if I couldn't answer the phone. 1.5 hours later I called back and spoke to someone else. He asked if he could just have the person call me back, I asked to stay on the phone because the other person hadn't called me back and I keep being told I will be contacted with no follow through. He obliged and when he told me she was still working on it and would leave a note in my file so that I was updated at the end of the day, I was happy with this and thanked him. Before hanging up, he clearly said to someone next to him, " so crazy, he keeps fucking calling." I'm not one to complain and I certainly don't like taking so much time to have to track this down and make these calls. I wouldn't, if I were updated in the way they say they will update me. This is a medication I need and I'm going out of town. ---are people not expected to self advocate? Am I supposed to wait until I'm forced to go to the ER for something that just requires medication? Or am I simply expected to make countless trips to the pharmacy to inquire so as not to bother the business that I'm reliant on for the medication? How would you feel if this were the response your were given? How would you feel if you took the time out of your day to try to track this repeatedly, and you were called crazy? I like the doctor enough to try again, but I won't stay if professionalism and contact doesn't improve. read more

Awesome doctors. They came up with a treatment plan and followed up with me constantly to make sure I was getting better. Other doctors I have been to that are not one medical make me feel like they only saw me for fifteen minutes to collect insurance money. Def not the case at one medical. Plus all the locations are connected so you can basically see any doctor if you need to make an appointment same day. Also they do FaceTime visits 24 hrs a day. I had one of my worst medical experiences at One Medical. It was horrible and demeaning. I had a provider sarcastically say "Thanks for making sure I do good doctor work" Every time I had a concerns with my health I was questioned or met with a very rude response. The provider seemed annoyed and did not take any of my concerns seriously. And when I left the appointment they did not shake my hand when I arrived or left which is very common for most other providers that I've witnessed. This isn't the first time I've experienced a negative reaction with providers/nurses at one medical but I wanted to give it a chance. The worst part when I got a second opinion I actually had a pretty serious medical condition that could have left me in the hospital for a few weeks. Its agitating and disturbing as a one medical client to have to pay and receive such poor quality in health care. Even after emailing customers service and the medical director of the facility I was met with the same type of responses. I do not recommend this facility to anyone, save your money. read more

When I first moved to DC from California I didn't even think about how I needed to find a doctor on the other coast. After a bad experience with MedStar Georgetown I did some research and found One Medical. I was slightly deterred by the annual fee but paid it anyways since I had belonged to a similar but much larger medical group back in California. That was almost 3 years ago and I haven't thought about going to another medical group since. I even prefer going to One Medical (as opposed to parent's medical group) when I am back on the West Coast. This is truly an impressively run operation and I am constantly recommending it to my friends. Benefits: - everything is done online (appointments, prescription renewals, etc.) so you rarely (if ever) need to pick up the phone. - you can read about all the doctors available and choose the one that best suits your needs - One Medical has a variety of different health care professionals so if you're going in for something simple (UTI, cold, etc.) and your primary care physician is not available there are always tons of FNPs and PAs available - same day appointments; you can't plan for sickness and One Medical understands that so if you need a same day appointment all you have to do is give them a call and they'll make room - multiple locations in cities: I'm not sure how many offices they have right now but if you live in NW/NE their offices are very accessible by metro Cons: - annual fee: it's not that horrible and I guess it's to be expected since it's a medical group (note: some insurance companies will reimburse you for it) - some people are not as thorough as others so I would recommend finding a physician you really like and then finding out who is on their team (example: I went to OM and had 3 separate appointments with different NPs/PAs and all of them treated me for the same infection even though I kept coming back with the same symptoms...I finally went to Dr. Siegfried and she was thorough, considered all the possibilities and determined that I had been treated for the wrong infection the whole time) read more

I went through a health crisis a year ago caused by severe adverse reactions to medication and toxicity that went undiagnosed. I made terrible choices: One Medical, Virginia Hospital Center and Cardiocare (a referral from One Medical). I found excellent care through Medstar and solid care at a couple of other places. The only disastrous thing about One Medical was the referral to Cardiocare. But One Medical's big box, assembly line approach to medicine didn't work out for me. Partly because my diagnosis wasn't obvious, and partly because I wasn't actually suffering from "hysteria" or "vapours" or whatever catch-all disorder they assign to women in the post-Victorian era. They do in fact see a lot of trivial health complaints here (regardless of gender). One of the providers was telling me about her other patients and I was like, wow, people go to the doctor for that? I mean, Walgreens is a block away and they can solve your problem for $1.99, but whatever. When you have a run of the mill condition, providers are all pretty much the same. I would just as well see an AI bot if it could legally write me a script. When you're in a healthcare crisis, the gap between the excellent and the terrible is the chasm that you're jumping into. And dead is dead. If you make the wrong choice, you don't get to try again. Someone very well familiar with the medical community convinced me that I would have a much better chance of surviving my next health crisis if I ditched One Medical and went to a provider with a reputation for careful diagnostics. When I walked into my new PCP's office I saw elderly in their 90s. Not hipster or trendy but with complicated, overlapping health conditions that kept his diagnostic skills sharp. One Medical's Metro Center office was across the street from my job, they opened late and had sunny, smiley front desk staff but all of that matters zilch when you can't get enough oxygen to walk across the room. read more

I really enjoyed my appointment with Dr. Siegfried. She is thorough, understood what I needed, asked really good questions, and had very good bedside manner. I am a patient with hypochondria, anxiety, and some other issues and she dealt with me very skilfully. The perks of the practice were also quite nice as well. read more

This is a review about One Medical in DC and overall. Firstly, I think One Med used to be a great concept. Over the past few years the quality and customer service has decreased as they seem to focus on expanding as quickly as possible and providing excellent MARKETING, less efforts are spent on customer service and patient care. Here are some thoughts: 1) They've hired a ton of staff. A few are great, this is not about them. Many are very YOUNG and arrogant which is bad customer service and leads to bad patient care. Make your own judgments, a brief review of their website likely shows few providers with over 10 or 20 years in medicine and many with 1-3 years ie just out of residency 2) The "concierge" medicine customer service and email access used to be great. Now it commonly takes 2-10 emails to resolve simple matters. I avoid getting One Medical to assist on serious matters, the hassle isn't worth it. 3) They claim they want feedback on the practice and such yet they rarely answer the feedback email address. 4) In DC they have minimal, if any holistic or integrative medicine. I guess they make more money on 15 min primary care visits but whatever the reason, completely goes against the states philosophy of the practice. The reviews on Glass Door and related sites highlight growing pains and rapid expansion The billing is always on time and ruthlessly efficient which kind of embodies the problem. The marketing materials make it look glamorous but the reality is a busy conventional medical practice with very young providers. Not for me, anymore. read more

I was referred to One Medical Group by a co-worker as I had just moved here from So. Cal. and had to find new medical care. I had a baby a year ago and during pregnancy and post pregnancy caused some health issues. I went to see Dr. Aminah Jones about 2 months ago.I let her know that I'm a certified personal trainer with a specialization in nutrition and group fitness along with a list of medical issues/diseases that affect me. Told her what was going on and that I was having a lot of heartburn/indigestion and wasn't sure if it was related to my gallbladder. She decided to run blood work. I make an appointment after the blood work results and she tells me I need to see a nutritionist due to my A1c being high, it was in the pre-diabetic zone, (told her I was hypoglycemic post pregnancy as well as other medical issues/diseases that are untreatable) but she felt I needed to be on medication. My LDL was a little high but my overall was in the normal range. She suggested a medication for that as well. Then my ALP was also high and she said it's not from my gallbladder/gallstones because the blood work wasn't showing that I had any and that we would need to run more tests but first I needed to come back to see her. Why did she think medication and a nutritionist was going to fix anything, if the true issue isn't addressed? I called my Gastroenterologist in California and he told me to find a new doctor because the first thing that should've been done was an ultrasound of my abdomen, not blood work if she had been listening and doing her job. I found a new doctor and my new doctor did just that, made sure that I had an ultrasound immediately. He was not concerned with many of the blood work numbers as he asked for the other medical records that showed the results of hypoglycemia. He also said if I do have gallstones it can cause LDL levels to be off. This past friday I received a bill from them for my copay from June. They think they're slick but I keep all my receipts and use my flex spending account. So I had to call and have that taken care of by faxing them the receipt and a copy of the transaction. I will not being going back here because they just care about billing the insurance rather than making sure patients actually get the care that they need. I have a gallbladder FULL of gallstones and have now been having gallbladder attacks due to having to find another doctor and a specialist as the correct process wasn't followed. I was ignored and brushed off and by law I could sue for malpractice as she didn't do the correct procedure and I'm now dealing woth pain and suffering. I won't but maybe these doctors really need to pay attention! read more

The long and short of it is: Wholeheartedly recommend One Medical. Expect to pay a membership fee of $200 that goes towards same-day appointments, access to all One Medical locations, access to call nurses to determine if you should come in, email access to your physician, and a 95% chance that you will be seen on time. (Carefirst covers the membership fee, as in my case) The offices are clean, stylish, and organized. Scheduling appointments is easy online, and reception staff are very efficient and friendly. Dr. Siegfried is very personable, knowledgeable, kind, thorough, and never asserts any opinions or judgments (yes, all doctors are supposed to be this way, but they aren't all). She was extraordinarily helpful at determining which birth control method made the most sense for me, which is where her non-judgmental demeanor really became important. The location is very convenient, and walkable from my office on the Hill. I can't speak to parking, but I hear it's fairly easy. As for the claim that you will be seen on time, this hasn't been the case for me. At both of my visits I waited at least 10 minutes. That being said, they provide ample time to ask questions, get clarification, get comfortable following procedures, etc., so it's understandable that appointments may run long at times. I would rather wait a few minutes before an appointment than feel rushed out to accommodate the next person. Overall, peace of mind and access to quality, caring doctors are worth the membership fee. read more

I am extremely impressed with the facility and and professionalism of the Union Station office. I had a very pleasant experience and was very excited to have gotten on board with a medical group that has so many offices around the country. Although there is a fee to belong to One Medical, I believe that the ease of scheduling appointments and transferring amongst doctors makes it worth it. I'm a young professional in the city who needed a primary care doctor and this place made it very clear and easy to research and choose a location and doctor. Would highly recommend! read more

Not an actual urgent care! Just an urgent care for their own patients! Was on tour from out of state and came down with a stomach bug. Walked a little over half a mile to this location since google told me it was the nearest urgent care. When I got there, exhausted and miserable, they informed me that they "didn't know why google made them come up as an urgent care" and that it was just "an urgent care for their own patients." That's funny. Their official website refers to them as an urgent care. Where on earth would google have gotten the idea that they were an urgent care, I wonder? They sent me to the nearest urgent care that actually saw sick people. I walked there (a mile in the rain) and finally was taken back after throwing up 4 times in the waiting room. Thanks for being accommodating, One Medical. You really suck. read more

I have been a member of One Medical since moving back to the DC area in 2015 and Dr. Micheal Gee is my Primary Care Physician at the Union Station (New Jersey Ave location) and if I could give him more than 5 stars, I promise I would. He is a wonderful fit for me and truly cares about the entire patient approach, as opposed to the clinical way most of us have experienced PCPs of "just tell me what's wrong and I'll write you a script). Dr. Gee is NOTHING like that at all and very little slips by him. I truly feel like he has a vested interest in my health and he just...he takes care of me and has been a blessing. This group of Physicians, the MedTeam, Receptionists, and Schedulers work seamlessly together. If you are sent to a specialist or already have one, your PCP will get an update on what the result, status, and what their recommendation is/was. This part has been huge for me. This cuts out so much time and the stress of record requesting and negates the need of having to go through everything that happened with the specialist because my PCP already knows it. Time and stress-saver...EVERYBODY WINS. From the person you first speak with by phone (even when you may or may not be panic-stricken because of an appointment or prescription issue, usually my own fault), to their email response time, to the very personalized and special care you receive, I can't say enough great things about them. When Federal BCBS stopped including OneMedical for coverage, I almost flipped out. But, thank goodness it was "Open Season" and we literally changed to United Health Care's Federal Plan solely to ensure coverage with this group. They are just awesome. read more

There are not enough stars to rate One Medical Group. I regularly visit the Union Station office, but have been to other locations as well. The Doctors, PAs, NPs, phlebotomists, anyone you see in a medical setting are all fantastic (and I have seen enough of them to know!). The front desk staff are also phenomenal, taking care of anything you need in terms of medical records, billing, scheduling, etc. Their online portal is extremely easy to use to book an appointment, and if you have any issues with that, you can call and they will search all locations close to you to get you in as soon as they can. The office is beautiful, with a comfortable waiting room (not that you will wait long, as the appointments actually do always start on time) and the exam rooms are very nice as well. The entire staff will do anything to help make your day even just a little bit easier, between scheduling you as soon as you can, sending your medical records over on the spot so you don't have to worry, and settling any billing issues that you may have. I have a chronic condition that requires a lot of care and visits, and I have never had a bad one yet. I see Becky Stafford, who is very kind and smart and listens to everything you have to say and actually makes you a part of the decision making. As long as I am near a One Medical Group location, that is where I will be going. They have earned a lifetime patient. read more

Well appointments do really start on time. There is also a virtual team that you could see via videochat. I found the video chat very convenient but I'm not sure if its good or not for medicine. I do like this office better than any other dr. office I've been to. I wish there were more offices in N.Virginia, as I have to uber here every time I go into DC. Parking and traffic is just bad in DC. Generally, I'm happy with the doctors here so far. Maybe I'll do an update review later. read more
