First time ordering for our Christmas Family Dinner of Crab Louie Salads with a side of scallops. Patrick the owner answered by several emails with helpful information. I was concerned about getting the fresh dungeons crab on a Saturday but not eating it till Monday night. He told me he picks it up on Saturday morning and then delivers in the afternoon. So assuming he is getting it from fresh that day it should be good. The crab was from Eureka Oregon as the dungy season has not opened yet locally :( I ordered cooked , cleaned and cracked fresh crabs along with 1 pound of fresh crab meat and a pound of Japanese fresh scallops. Everything was fantastic. The fresh crab indeed was perfect on Monday and while the crab meat pound container was not quite as good it was still worth it. The picked meat was a good combo of large pieces and inside meat. The fresh cracked crabs were meaty, in fact two of the 4 were really loaded with meat. The scallops were particularly delicious and some of the best I have ever had. I of course over ordered and my daughter made a bunch of crab cakes the next night and she said they were awesome. So indeed One Ocean is sourcing really fresh and top quality product and delivering it for free or very inexpensively all around SF. Trust in them to deliver the goods. read more

One Ocean is the absolute best -- not just restaurant quality salmon, but four different varieties to choose from. They have fish that are impossible to find elsewhere like whole sardines and whole branzino for grilling. For $15 you can buy a whole Branzino/Bronzini fish and have a beautiful dinner centerpiece that would be $60 in a restaurant. Delivery is super easy and their delivery zone is huge -- all the way from Santa Rosa to Los Gatos with East Bay too. The fish is wonderful, fresh, sustainable and so much higher quality than even the nicest supermarkets. It's a wonderful service. read more

The fish we receive is always ice cold, pristine, and smells like the ocean- not like fish! I told my husband we can never move out of their delivery area. I am currently pregnant and can not stand the smell of any fishiness. I have not had an issue with anything that has been delivered, and in fact, this fish is the only fish I can even think about eating. We've ordered clams and mussels a couple times and we have not had to throw away a SINGLE one- at Whole Foods or Costco we usually have to throw away 15-25%. Now I wouldn't even think of buying seafood from either of those places. Prices are shockingly reasonable given the quality and freshness of the fish, not to mention delivery. FYI, while he will confirm your preferred delivery date, there is no delivery window. So once we start leaving the house post-Covid we may opt to pick up in the mornings. read more

During the pandemic, we started to order from One Ocean Seafood. I recommend them. Although you could go to the supermarket, the quality is better and the delivery is convenient. The prices are higher of course, but this is one of those instances of "it's worth it." The proprietor is friendly. He will get to know you. The advantage is freshness. Our local Andronico's is not bad. This is better. We've had just about everything, from the tuna and salmon and petrale sole to mussels and oysters to our favorite of hamachi collars. That last item is great. We would enjoy it at restaurants. It turns out to be so simple to make. You just crinkle heavy duty aluminum foil, oil it, put ample salt on the fish, then broil it. That's it. They have shrimp with and without shells, deveined or not, and with or without heads, so you can do what you want. They also have abalone, which it turns out my wife doesn't care for, and salmon collars, which are a tasty snack but which my wife also doesn't like as much as me. They've added non seafood items. We've ordered a bit of that too. The protocol is simple. The owner, Patrick, has a van. He has specific days for specific areas. You look on the web, select, pay, etc., just like for any other internet vendor. You put a cooler out. He shows up. His stuff is all packed with plenty of ice. He puts it into your cooler. read more

I have yet to have any fish that I did not like the taste of because it's always that fresh. Last week we got tuna and it was so beautiful we ate it as sashimi and the leftovers we did poke. I was recommended One Ocean Seafood during the pandemic, and it's been a game changer. I recently ordered ahi tuna, lobster tails, and head-on shrimp, and each item was the talk of the getaway. The quality is so fresh and Patrick delivered it right to my door. Why pay exorbitant prices at the supermarket or other spots where you have no relationship with the vendor when you could be shopping with these guys? I made ahi the first night and the second day made poke. I grew up in Hawai'i so I have high expectations of seafood and this is the best you can get. What a HIT at the party! We had this team come to a small, Covid Safe gathering to celebrate life, friendship and happiness. This team came in and shucked oysters for the party. They were really clean, covid friendly (masks, gloves, etc) and knowledgeable. They had the BEST recommendations on how to dress the oysters with the different condiments. Of course we had to have our hot sauce but the horse radish gave it the best kick ever! And then at the end, they cleaned up everything as if they were never there. It was the hit of the gathering. I've been ordering delivery from One Ocean for the last few years and we've never been disappointed and have always been impressed. We've loved everything that we've ordered, and the quality is way better than anything you can get at the grocery store. And, really, you can't get this variety at any grocery store. We've been to a few neighborhood seafood markets too, but this is still way better. You can enter notes for the order if you want 1-inch steaks, filets, skinless, etc and they will prepare the order as specified. I recently tried a sample of the Scottish salmon and I'm dying to get an order now...being from Seattle, I thought I've had a lot of really good salmon but this knocked my socks off! Kampachi, mussels, poke, sole, black cod, swordfish...everything we've tried has been amazing. The customer service is truly amazing too. We have been ordering the fish sampler through GoodEggs for almost half a year now and have always received fish that's very fresh, juicy and delicious. We literally can just steam it with a touch of seasoning and it turns out amazing every time. In terms of value and selection, it's more of a three star. The sampler has mostly been the same stuff over and over again for months, despite the changing seasons and their inventory. 90% of the time it just feels like they're just getting rid of their leftovers bits despite the sampler costing $1-$3 versus picking your own selections. read more

I have been looking for high quality fresh fish for some time and have had multiple occasions where I've had to return fish that I've gotten from the local grocery stores after I've opened the package when I arrived home. The fish from One Ocean is so fresh that it doesn't even have the slightest fish odor! So far, we have ordered the shrimp, salmon, rock cod and petrale sole and everything has been amazingly good! This is an amazing source for fresh fish, delivered to your door, for free! I know, it sounds too good to be true, but it is. Good news for we fish lovers! I learned about One Ocean when I asked a friend in the culinary business where he sourced his fish, as it was always so fresh, highest quality, and 'beautiful' (presentation matters). I did a google search, and saw that Patrick was at the Portola Valley Farmer's Market, and also had on on-line store. I sent an email with my questions about ordering, and he responded immediately. I wanted salmon and fresh dungeness crabmeat, but didn't need a full pound for just two people. He said, no problem, just tell me what you want. He also offered to cut the salmon into portion sizes. And, unbelievably, said he delivers free of charge with no minimum. I was skeptical about ordering the crabmeat, as that has to be very fresh, or it's not worth buying - I would be using it for crab louie entree salads the same day. The crab was wonderful - not only super fresh, but it had more of the leg pieces than what I get when I buy it from our local highest end market (and pay more). We've had the dungeness crabmeat, king salmon, loch duart salmon, scallops (amazing), petrale sole, artic char, and steelhead trout. I placed an order by email and then picked it up at the San Carlos farmers market. I was looking for a variety of fish for sashimi and this was perfect. I had a dinner party and ordered 6 pounds of halibut, even thickness for easy cooking, and the fish was outstanding. Last week, when my sister was in town we had the steelhead trout--she was wowed. I found Patrick at our local farmer's market a couple summers ago (we're in San Carlos). His booth quickly became a weekly stop on my famer's market itinerary. His fish and seafood is the freshest I've found anywhere, and of reliably excellent quality. He delivers, too.
