I have subscribed to other CSF and Sea Forager is by far the best. I have a "Neptune's Delight"…read moresubscription for 2 people every other week. I love the packaging, and the fact that fish is on ice rather than surrounded by those frozen plastic packets (which end up in the landfill). The fish is packaged in environmental "friendly" bags rather than in plastic. They also deliver at the beginning of the pickup period (i.e. The pickup range is 3:30-8pm, and it's at my pickup point at 3:30). That is different than other CSF who deliver sometime within their published pickup period. Now about their seafood. It has been nice to get clean cut fish, not something that looks like it was hacked from a larger fish. Everything is fresh. They send you an email letting you know what you'll receive. They also have recipes. The last item I received was 4.5 dozen mussels! I look forward to doing business with them for the foreseeable future. Just an aside. My daughter took a sea foraging tour with Kirk in 2012. She raved about how knowledgeable he was and recommended him to me. I, unfortunately, did not follow through. I found Kirk just by chance when the person whose home is used for deliveries asked, on NextDoor, who might be interested in a fresh fruit CSA. I'm glad I did.

I feel like I'm learning about the sea and the food, which is awesome. * Bonus that it's family run, they're super friendly and well meaning, give you great flexibility and they're funny too and down to earth * Super easy to order and trial, lots of pick up locations. Summary: can't go back to eating WF/Molly Stones/Costco fish no more. Uh uh.

What a gem amongst all the restaurants in Japan Town! It's in the outside center near the…read morestationary store Paper Tree for reference. Been here a couple of times already and the service never failed. Even came here during the Cherry Blossom Festival and the staff were still friendly / accommodating. They even put a spicy sauce on the side of one of the katsu plates when we mentioned that my dad couldn't handle all that haha. This cozy spot mainly focuses on katsu plates, but I like how they had off menu or specials to choose from if you'd like another option. I will say though them katsu plates were just chef's kiss. The meat is pounded thin enough where it's still juicy and tender, but doesn't affect the exterior from being crunchy and a bit flaky. Nothing was dry here yallll! I also like how it already comes with miso soup and salad. Huge fan of that Hamachi Truffle special though. Think of a citrusy flavor from the ponzu, fresh fish, a bit of micro greens, and a thin slice of jalapeño that just ~works~ on a cute wooden spoon that you want to steal I could honestly eat like 5 spoons of this. I'd skip on the calamari as it was kind of skimpy to share with a large group. Only note was that their fried katsu curry was a bit underwhelming with having more slices of carrots than potato! Would love to come back if I am ever in the area.

Ganji is a solid spot for katsu in Japantown! The service was excellent--the staff were friendly,…read moreattentive, and quick to take our orders, which made for a great dining experience. The miso soup was a delicious way to start the meal, and when my katsu arrived, it looked amazing. The meat was hot, tender, and the portion was huge, so I definitely left full. My only suggestion is to ask for the curry on the side if you like your katsu extra crispy. I had the curry poured over it, and the breading got soggy pretty quickly. The only reason I'm giving four stars instead of five is the price. My dish was around $30, which felt a little expensive, although I can understand it given the quality of the meat and generous portions. Overall, it's a great place if you're craving katsu, and I'd definitely come back--just with the curry on the side next time!

With the San Francisco skyline stretching across the Bay, the setting alone makes the visit unforgettable. The restaurant's unique shipping-container design gives it a cool, laid-back vibe, while the patio offers one of the best sunset views in the Bay Area. The food is simple, flavorful comfort food -- perfect with a drink while watching the city lights come on. A hidden gem where great food meets incredible Bay views.

The views were really beautiful, but I found the menu, food, and worn down decor uninspiring. They have a seasonal menu that changes daily for some reason, and I ordered the halibut which came out dry and pretty flavorless. I ended up exchanging it for a fish chowder with some fries, which they kindly refunded me the difference and added a slight discount for me. Since they were unable to accommodate my group inside (we asked if we could move two tables together, and the waitress flatly shouted "no" from behind the bar), we went to go sit outside. We sat outside for like 30 minutes, and then more staff came out to tell us they were setting up for an Afrobeats event and that they would have to remove the tables we were sitting at. The funny thing is, we came to the restaurant initially because there was supposedly a DJ set that ran until 3 PM, but the restaurant was pretty much completely empty when I got there. No music no DJs. We also ended up circling back and saw the alleged Afrobeats set and it was mostly techno :( I think that this could have been a really lively and beautiful location, but the combination of the staff, service, unoriginal menu, and perhaps poor/false advertising for event times has really just made the whole experience very sad.
