Every year all teachers spend their own time and money preparing the classrooms for students in addition to the parent meet and greet which is planned on the first day a teacher is paid after the summer break. The heart of the school is its teachers. Teachers are who we know, who love their students and are beloved by their families. I want to thank all teachers at all districts for the hard work they put in every year to create a warm welcoming environment for their students. I wish the districts would actually pay teachers for working these hours. I wish that parents knew how much teachers care about their work. I wish school board members and administrators took the time to thank all of the teachers for their ongoing education and work for which they receive no compensation. Now I want to use my voice to praise all of the heroes in each classroom in the entire world. Thank you for your ongoing work. Thank you for sticking with teaching in spite of the lack of pay, appreciation, and respect. Thank you for your smiles and positive attitudes. For those people who think, "Yeah, must be nice to have all that time off in the summer". You can be a teacher too. But, in the state of CA, plan your finances well. You will have no paid holidays. In CA you will earn only eleven checks a year but not qualify for unemployment for the twelfth month, you will pay almost half of your check in fees, insurance benefits, and taxes. You will be judged by the color of your fingernail polish, hair style or weight. It is a wonderful profession and one of the very few professions talked about during dinner. Do you remember talking about the hair style of the person working at the bank or gas station? You can be a teacher. There are many wonderful families in the world who will support you and will help you to teach. Many administrators work hard, side by side, to support students learning. Teaching is the most special career on earth. Find a Teacher Thank a Teacher Support all teachers Just read the book, 1001 ways to reward employees - most cost nothing... Find a way to reward a teacher's hard work. Be a positive person God Bless the families who trust their children to the many teachers at the many school districts. God bless the teaching staff of all Shasta County Schools I hope for a wonderful teaching year. I miss all of what teaching is and know that all of you work hard and give your whole selves to each student. Thank you Thank you Thank you

He just turned 3 , knows how to spell his name , his alphabet and can count to twenty . We were told by our pediatrician to maybe look into outside help with a speech therapist , because he wasn't talking much at all ( which is common, EVERY little has their own pace ) . After our three year checkup , the Pediatrician was so Impressed with his linguistics and communication WENDY IS TRULY AMAZING !! Our son has learned so much with here! Everyday he comes home with a craft project, and a letter, he's learned for the day with a new word corresponding to the letter. He's excited to tell me his new word , and I'm amazed by how in tune everyone who works there is with his quirks . We are having some Potty training complications, and she is sooo nurturing (so is everyone working there ) they all make a huge point to keep me informed on his pee & poo accomplishments. . She makes sure they get prizes for going potty & celebrates every holiday and birthday. I am a first time momma and my son is everything to me , knowing he is loved , learning and growing his vocabulary, so he can express himself means everything to me in a safe nurturing environment. That piece of mind while I'm away from him is priceless. I was militant in Choosing a daycare after a previous experience and Wendy's has surpassed anything I could have hoped for . Wendy offers suggestions on behavior and learning always to communicate to me what we can work on together for helping him grow and it's always coming from a loving place . I want to raise a good human! Like I said I'm a first time momma and any help or ideas she can offer I greatly appreciate. I WISH I COULD GIVE A HUNDRED STARS . If you are nervous about finding the perfect place for your little and a crazed momma who is obsessed with finding the perfect place while you are away THIS IS IT !! I WE ARE SO LUCKY WE FOUND WENDY'S DAYCARE! ! She sends me pictures daily of his smile and videos of their activities. It literally makes my entire day and I can't wait to pick him up !

Given the unfortunate reviews that have come about, it is long past time that I share my story. If you are here checking reviews, you already know qualified childcare in our town difficult to come by. Knowing that I began my search early in my pregnancy 4 years ago. Several friends and families recommended Wendy's Daycare, and so I made the call to find out more information. To my disappointment, there was a waiting list 6 months out. (Weird that someone who is reportedly so terrible can still have a wait list a mile long all these years later) So I put our name on the list, and we waited. Sadly, no space was available by the time I went back to work so we found alternate childcare. Long story short, it was a total nightmare. A year later I was at the end of my rope, ready to quit my job and stay home, when I got the call that would change my life! Wendy had a space and wanted to schedule an interview. Being new to this game, I first thought it odd that a daycare would want to interview me. Isn't she working for me? Aren't I interviewing her? However, in a world where parents have varying personalities and levels of experience and as a rational adult whose concern for their children is paramount it makes total sense! The fact that Wendy has the emotional capacity to recognize the importance of these relationships speaks to her incredible character. Spaces at Wendy's are not easy to come by and that is because so much care and thought goes into selecting children and families, and once you're there you don't give up your spot willingly. Wendy puts every ounce of herself into the time she and her staff spends with children and she works hard to make sure anyone coming into her home is a good fit. It is a shame when people you once trusted turn on you and spread vindictive lies. Contrary to my original thought, Wendy may work for me in the sense that I pay for her service, but in truth, she works for my children. Taking care every day to research the latest curriculum, staying up on nutrition and health and safety to ensure that my children are receiving a well-rounded experience. She knows my children and their personalities as much or more than I do and is always there to listen and offer valuable advice when needed. To cut to the chase, I have since had another child and would have a dozen more if I it meant I could go to Wendy's every day. I now work for the Early Education Department of the Shasta County Office of Education and I can tell you in all confidence, as someone who has seen the worst, Wendy's Daycare is the best there is. I have never once felt anxious or uncomfortable about the care my children receive here. Wendy's staff is loving and compassionate. My children are happy and excited to spend time here. My oldest daughter went into Kindergarten more than prepared and Wendy's has the best reputation of any early learning center that feeds into our school. Wendy helped with our potty training issues, and my daughter was reading and writing by 3 years old, which is impressive because the information is presented in a way that my kids do not even realize they are learning, all they know is they are having fun and feeling loved. Yes, there are rules, and expectations. Children and parents alike know what is expected and Wendy provides consistency and security to all of us. Yes, Wendy runs a tight ship, but given the fact that she has nearly 20 years of experience, she knows that both children and adults need boundaries, and she knows what works. Believe what you will, but I rest easy every day knowing that my kids are well cared for, and Wendy will be part of our family long after my children age out.

We enrolled our son in this daycare sometime in Sept. 2024 (he was 1.5 years old), in the beginning it all seemed really nice, the staff were friendly and seemed to care about the kids. All that changed when one of the staff in the toddler class got fired because of alleged rough handling of one of the kids. After that, they seemed to always be short staffed, we didn't know which class to drop off our son, one time we would leave him in the infants area, next with the 3-year old, it was the same situation when picking him up, we had to walk all over the place to see where our son is. Additionally it's worth mentioning that every single day my son would come home with dirty face and hands, with snot all over his face, and almost every other week he was sick to the point that we had to keep him home. In few occasions when they were outside, we noticed kids playing with muddy water that had leaked from the drinking water fountain and had their faces in it and the staff would not interfere or stop the kids. we were fortunate to be on a waiting list for another daycare and my son's turn came up to get enrolled, but toward the last 2, 3 months in this daycare he didn't want to go, he was always upset during drop off and when picking him up, he would look upset until he would see us. All this, I do want to mention that I believe it is the management that is not good, the staff are most likely overworked and underpaid. If you care about your child's safety and health and if you have the means to not enroll him in this daycare, I would definitely suggest to stay away.

    Buckeye Elementry School

    Buckeye Elementry School

Review of Buckeye School (Parent Experience) As a parent, my…read moreexperience with Buckeye School over the past several months has been alarming, deeply disappointing, and ultimately unsafe for my children. I feel it is important to share what I personally witnessed and what many other concerned parents reported as well. I hope this helps families make informed decisions and encourages the district to take immediate action. 1. Severely Out-of-Control Classrooms Classroom environments were consistently chaotic and unsafe. Students frequently engaged in physical aggression toward each other, including hitting, throwing objects, and using classroom supplies in dangerous ways. Despite these ongoing incidents, no meaningful intervention or disciplinary action was taken. The level of disorder made learning impossible and placed students at risk. 2. High Teacher Turnover and Staff Instability Within the first three months of the school year, several teachers quit--some lasting only a few weeks. This constant turnover created instability and confusion for the students. Rather than addressing the repeated behavioral issues from a small group of disruptive students, the administration instead placed blame on the teachers, creating a cycle that never improved. 3. Extremely Concerning Staff Behavior and Verbal Aggression Multiple parents, including myself, reported verbally aggressive or inappropriate interactions involving certain staff members and substitutes. When concerns were brought forward, administration either dismissed them or claimed they would look into it, but no follow-up occurred. These concerns were treated as exaggerations or ignored completely. 4. Unsafe "Calm Down Room" Practices The school utilized a so-called "calm down room" that, in reality, resembled a storage or janitorial closet. Students were placed inside for extended periods, often locked in or prevented from leaving. Several parents--including myself--felt this practice was unsafe, unregulated, and inappropriate for children. 5. Lack of Administrative Accountability Attempts to report issues--whether verbally or through written communication--were routinely brushed aside. Some parents noticed that written reports appeared not to be kept or documented appropriately, raising concerns about transparency. When safety issues were reported, the general administrative response was dismissive, often suggesting parents "find another school" rather than addressing the problems. 6. Gender, Special Education & General Education Safety Failures Classrooms combining students with significant behavioral needs and general-education students were not supported with adequate staff or structure. This created extremely volatile environments where children were hurt, frightened, or overwhelmed. My own children repeatedly came home distressed by incidents that were never acknowledged or addressed by the school. 7. Failure to Address Weapons, Harmful Items, and Drugs Parents reported students bringing items such as pocketknives, lighters, and even substances onto campus. Instead of strict supervision and intervention, these concerns were largely minimized. This lack of oversight contributed directly to unsafe conditions for all children. 8. Dismissive, Unresponsive Leadership Both the principal and vice principal were made aware of the ongoing issues numerous times by many parents. Despite this, the typical response was dismissiveness, a claim that they were "aware," and no actual corrective action. The administration consistently refused to take accountability or enforce consequences for dangerous behavior. Conclusion After repeated incidents, unaddressed safety concerns, and the complete breakdown of structure in the classrooms, I made the difficult decision to withdraw my children from Buckeye School. In my experience, the environment is unsafe, unregulated, and not conducive to learning or emotional well-being. The administration's unwillingness to take action left me with no confidence that the situation would improve. I truly hope that the district investigates these concerns thoroughly so future students do not experience the same failures my children did. signed a parent and -student advocate-it is my personal belief that both Mr. Mr. Walker should be removed from their positions of power as they don't actually do anything in the scope of their job representation as to keeping faculty and other students safe from those who they continue to allow these individuals to be at the school and doing things like stabbing children with scissors, drug illegal drug use, engaging in sexual behavior in the bathroom and more I would also like to add that this school age all the way up to eighth grade and this is control. I have gone as for us to contact the district. Write a letter to mayor of Redding, California, and many many other things, and I hope that these individuals are removed for their positions and held accountable through the amount of abuse

When I called the school to ask why they would allow a kid that's coughing to go back to school they really made it quite clear they don't care the lady literally sat there and told me about how great their school is. I reminded her there has been videos posted to Instagram in the past of a lil girl being kicked on the ground by other students and asked her how that fit into her idea of a perfect school. I know several people that went to this school 10-20 years ago and I can honestly say the community thinks this is the worst school in Shasta county let alone possibly nor cal as a whole. The fact they let a kid with Covid go to school shows they don't care and honestly quite scary that when I told them I would be talking to my attorney to see if I have a case as they risked my entire family's life they told me I couldn't because they sent home liability waiver but I told the lady I wouldn't sign a waiver for this exact reason. Not to mention when they sent home the waivers they told the kids that if they had their parents sign the paper they would get a surprise bag the next day at school I obviously didn't sign it and thought this was a lot like bribing a kid to have their parents sign legal documents to protect them from negligence like this maybe I'd be wrong if it wasn't for the fact that the next day at school the teacher handed out the surprise bags to only the kids that had their parents sign the waiver isn't that illegal? I guess we will see after I call my lawyer and I'll most likely be pulling her out this school for her own safety as they obviously don't care about peoples safety my daughters mom has been coughing up blood and sneezing blood from this.
