Adobo fish tacos and lobster rolls
    Hunter F.

This was a very fun place! I love the view of the lake and the open area. We have two little kids and it was very nice to not feel in the way of others. The food was great. It's so nice to have lots of options and everyone can order what they want. I got the fish tacos and lobster rolls from seafood options. Both were tasty!! The poke bowl, the three tacos, and the chicken tender basket were all yummy options we had too. The pizza was the only thing we had that was not our favorite. Just lacked much flavor but the crust was good. There also was a nice workers walking around keeping the place clean and were very friendly. Overall a great experience and I would go back for sure!!

Stopped by One Social District in downtown Madison and grabbed a drink, but this place is way more than just a bar stop. It's a full-on food hall with multiple different restaurants and concepts all under one roof, so it's perfect if you're with a group and everyone wants something different. It's a super convenient spot for a casual hang, game days, or a quick stop when you're exploring the area--and I love places where you can mix drinks, food, and variety without overthinking it. Definitely adding this back to my list for a full food stop next time I'm in Madison. Save this spot if you're planning a trip to Madison!

    Senora Machetes Tacos - 2 pastor (L), 1 asada (R)

This was my first visit here on a Saturday late morning. I didn't see anything super breakfast-y for a weekend at 11am, but I was perfectly content to eat lunch food and I love having tacos for my first meal anyway. I ordered three tacos from Senora Machetes - man, this place was good. I got 2 pastor tacos and 1 asada taco and really enjoyed all of them. They were street taco size but I was quite full after eating them. Service was wonderful at Senora Machetes and the woman who took our order was so nice and so fun - we had some great laughs and it's just nice to see good customer service these days (I *think her name was Glenda?). The other food options looked good, but tacos are just my usual go-to first meal. I'd be interested in trying the other places, too. They have a large bar at the end of the food hall too, which looks like it is well stocked. While it's an open and airy inside space, it doesn't seem like there's actually that much seating and I wonder how it would be if the place got super busy. Even so, I'd definitely be willing to try again. Great location, can't wait for the summer months!

One Social Food Hall is brand new and the latest addition to the growing downtown Madison landscape. It sits at the of the new One residential tower and features a collection of local vendors from Tex-Mex to Seafood, Sandwiches and Pasta. There is currently an open stall, so I am excited to see what vendor joins next. In addition the eateries, there is an oval bar situated in the back where you can get all the cocktails and drinks to pair with your meal. Location is prime with the main entrances sitting just off the street and the back area overlooking the lake. There is also a shared public outdoor corridor with seating and activity space as well. Seating seems plentiful, but it runs out quite quickly. The space is food hall by name, but it is a bit smaller than you would think, it is more food "cafeteria" or entry level food hall. Not knocking it, but again, the space is fairly limited, especially when it gets busy. Most of the tables are 2 or 4 tops, I feel they would benefit from a few communal style tables, as there are lots of large groups and families that come through. On ethe night we visited, there was also live music, which was a nice touch. While you can order at the counter of each vendor, you can also utilize QR codes on the tables and bar to order directly with the vendor and then pick up like you would any other online order. Convenient for sure. We bellied up to the bar during our visit. The bartenders were friendly, but they were all on top of each other, service was all over the place as they were all helping the whole bar versus having a concentrated area. This created double drinks and double requests on occasion, and a lot of "she/he already has me taken care of". Not the worst thing in the world, but definitely a kink to be worked out. Pricing was a bit high with each of our cocktails running $13 - $14, which made for a nice $60 visit to at the bar that included only 4 drinks. Each vendor is priced okay, but still tad higher than your average pricing. Service was friendly and helpful at each spot, the place is gorgeous and very clean. Overall, great add to the downtown Madison! Excited to see what this space continues to morph into for the community once it gets well established!

Lobster roll order, they give you two
    Allison N.

I was very excited to see a food hall finally come to Madison, and do like that there is variety in the food options with pub burgers, seafood, Italian, and Mexican restaurants featured. It is trying to be very upscale and the price matches that, so it is clear why most of the restaurants do not show their prices online (except the Mexican place, yay for them!). The ambiance is a bit cold with very few tables placed around the space. I see a food hall as more of a community experience but this is more like a too fancy workplace cafeteria. I do like that there is sitting facing the lake and the bar looks nice and is back on that side as well. I ordered from a lobster roll from the seafood restaurant and for $30 at least you get two of them! I ordered from the counter and the staff took my phone number, said my order would be ready in 25-30 minutes, and that I would receive a text when it was ready. For 12:30 on a Sunday with very few people inside I thought that was long but hoped it would be worth it. At 1pm I still hasn't received a text so I went back to the counter and asked about my order. They seemed confused, but had three orders of lobster rolls sitting there and gave me one of them. I wasn't watching so I have no idea how long it had been sitting there. You can also order from QR codes at each table so I may try that in the future if I ever visit again.

Beautiful view. Nice vibe inside. I don't think they have enough vendors yet, in particular would be great to have a coffee shop. But the ones they do have are nice. I got fish tacos and they were pretty good. Worth checking out and has a lot of potential.

    Grey tuna
    Weston K.

I decided I'm not going to eat my tuna roll. I do not trust the look and smell of this tuna. Good tuna should be deep red or bright pink. This tuna is grey and gross. For a Saturday afternoon I would expect some higher quality tuna. This is equivalent to sketchy gas station sushi. I hope this review helps the restaurant turn their quality around as I know this food hall is new and there is time to improve.

    Green Enchiladas
    Aurora A.

What a great new addition to the downtown food scene! The inside is so warm and inviting. I love all the food options as well. We tried something from almost all the vendors. The oysters were great and I was surprised at the quality. One of the shells was broken but other than that they looked and tasted great. No mignonette though :( the green enchiladas were SO GOOD. Highly recommend. The Alfredo had a different taste to it but was very creamy. Loved the rigatoni noodles. The tiramisu from there was good as well. Everyone who took our orders were super friendly and helpful. I will be back to try more food options!

It's hard to say what your experience is going to be versus mine because there are something around 100 different options (many of which are different configurations of similar dishes, of course). I ordered their spicy pineapple chicken combo which came with pork fried rice and a kimchi salad. In terms of what the dish is: It is sweet and sour chicken with pineapple chunks and a fair amount of red pepper for heat. The kimchi salad was on the higher end of hot (as one would figure) and ultimately one note solely because of that fact. The chicken was, by and large, not stringy which is a common problem at food courts regardless of the sort of food they're serving. The sweet heat combination of the pineapple with a red pepper heat was nice. The pork fried rice had pork chunks that were generally smaller than your average pea, the smallest bits of egg (barely any), and oddly enough -- corn. It had a good flavor but the pork was almost not there and the relative lack of egg made it feel not much like fried rice. Despite the three star rating -- given the sorry state of Asian food offerings on the east side this is one of the better venues Mrs. T and I have visited on the east side. The next time we have a craving for Asian food this is definitely a contender for our business (and next time: We're buying some of the amazing looking Loves desserts from the case).

Pistachio one was my favorite. There were many Asian ice creams. Propitious mango was a good one. There were a lot of small food places in the food hall. I tried food from a lot of different places. The food hall had a lot of seats, and was neatly maintained. It was never crowded. Kawasaki is close to the entry of Global Market. So the first time I was there, I went straight to this place. I had a Chicken katsu rice bowl. It was one of the best food I had in the food hall. Display had some very delicious and cute cakes. Next time I should try some of that. Taiwan Street has nice pho and bubble tea. I went for a pistachio milk shake, without bubbles. It was good. But I think I should have really went for a pho. They have a lots of sweets in display. I went for a peach swiss roll and a sesame ball. Both were good. From Dumpling House, I went for a chicken and mushroom dumpling and chinese chive pie. Both were good . It came steaming hot. I think I should have gone for some of their more favorite items like chive and pork dumpling. From Nice Flavor Stir Fry , I went for a sauteed sliced lamb with cumin. Generally this is a really flavorful dish which you cannot go wrong with. But it wasn't as good as I expected. Flavors were off, and the quality fo meat was not as good as I expected. Stir fry chicken mei fun was my favorite item from Bowl Bowl Rice. It came hot and was flavorful. I also had a tea leaf flavor egg. It was just $1. But it came with egg shell. I had to peel it. Egg was slightly less flavorful than I expected. Mochi donut is the main item in Glazed. There were some food items as well, but I didn't find takers for that. I went for 3 donuts - Oreo, honey dew and churro. The flavors were all interesting. May be oreo was my favorite. Donut texture was more chewy. From S&B Hmong Kitchen, I went for a fried rice from this place. It was flavorful. Cilantro and scallion on top gave a nice flavor kick. From Poké Mì, I went for a drunken noodles as my entree. It was not as good as I expected. Flavors were off. May be I should have gone for bahn mi. I haven't seen sugar cane juice anywhere else in Madison. So went for one. I thought it was just ok.

It's clean, easy to navigate, and has a great mix of stores--whether you're looking for budget-friendly deals or brand-name finds. I've scored amazing pieces at places like Nike, Old Navy, and Bath & Body Works (and the clearance racks be rackin' ). One thing I really appreciate is that it's not overwhelming. It's a chill shopping experience with wide walkways, plenty of parking, and restrooms that are actually easy to find and clean. It's not a "huge" mall, but it's just right when you want to get out, walk around, and treat yourself without driving too far or dealing with crowds. Great for quick stops or a slow weekend browse. Definitely a go-to for our household!

And not having been in a few years, I can see that it is considerably smaller yet due to the number of closures at the mall. There are easily a half-dozen empty storefronts here, and the buildings themselves are definitely not being kept up, either. I do not think this mall will be around in a couple years unless management steps in and revitalizes it. Don't even get me started on the danger of trying to cross the street between the two sides of the development, either as we witnessed multiple cars run the stop sign in our short time there.
