I originally left a positive review for this business because the worker who came out to install my peephole camera seemed to try his best. He appeared to work hard and I genuinely appreciated his effort. However, after seeing the end result more clearly, I've realized the job was left incomplete and unprofessional--the area around the installation was left damaged and unfinished (see attached photo). Looking back, I wish the worker had been honest up front and told me if he wasn't able to handle this type of installation. Instead, the job was done poorly, and I was left with a mess to fix. It's disappointing, because I was understanding and respectful during the appointment, at the end I offered water and a bathroom break since he seemed frustrated. I did not receive any follow-up or acknowledgment for my original review, which makes this experience even more frustrating. If you are considering using this business for peephole camera installation, I would recommend asking for examples of similar work first and ensuring they are truly qualified before hiring. read more

I ordered a Marks mortise lockset online recently and it was a great experience. Especially compared to the other locksmiths I've been to in NYC. Priced great and *seemed* accommodating but they never showed up to an installation appointment they made with me. Never called to let me know they were busy. Didn't pick up my calls. I called the next day and the man that picked up didn't know what I was talking about. He had to ask someone else, find out what happened, and then call me back. Apparently that someone else was the person that made my appointment. That someone else was a "musician" and busy. And apparently I seemed like such a "nice girl" that he couldn't bring himself to let me know he couldn't make that appointment. (I think it's already too generous to give them 2 stars, but I do believe that minus that one disorganized person, they could've done decent work. Personally, I'm not planning to use them anytime soon for risk that I'll be waiting hours for an appointment no one will be showing up for.) read more

They were friendly, fast, and efficient. The price was cheaper to make duplicate keys than other places. We were in and out in a few minutes! I had to visit 3 other places before coming here because they didn't have my type of key or because they were closed despite what the sign said. A little hole in the wall but it's busy, meaning they do a great job! I got a pair of keys and it was done super quickly and he mentioned I can come back if they didn't work but it was perfect. I had issues with other keys done at another place before but this time, it's good on the first try. Will come back next time I'll need a new set of keys. read more

Didn't have a variety of blank key options (colors or design to distinguish similar keys) but they did the job quick. I got an ilco key duplicated for around $6. I would recommend to call ahead to make sure the store is open. read more

It's shocking how many customers come in and out of the doors in this tiny locksmith in the span of the 5 minutes that it takes me to get my keys made. The employees are swift and know what they're doing. The prices are fair and they do medeco keys which can sometimes be a challenge to find a place that copy them. Ordered a hard to find lock off their website to the tune of almost $250. Order indicates shipped , but no tracking info ever provided. Multiple calls have gone unreturned. Next step is legal action! Would really think about it before doing business with this company! read more

Good product, GREAT Service. I ordered a replacement doorknob online - a really small order. The post office tracking said it was delivered, but it wasn't. I called ASK just to make sure I had given them my address correctly, but the said they would have to look that up and call me back. This is a wee tiny little hardly-visible joint on the north side of W38th St, and I have to say 'small but oh my! These people know what they're doing. They can make just about any key and fix just about any lock, or replace it if necessary. Once the locksmith opened a lock in front of me and fixed it by knocking out some dirt. Then he gave it back saying 'no charge.' My wife has known them to send her home with a replacement part and the advice "See if it fits. You can pay me tomorrow." All the guys seem to be quite young but somewhere along the line they got good training old-time service. read more
