I am so happy with my shoes! I brought in a pair of Chanel sling backs and wanted an anti slip pad placed on the heel. He recommended I just replace the heel with a full slip pad so it can wear down better. He also recommended glazing the bottom sole because he noticed there was wear on it already and I had even said I only wore it once for a couple mins. So it ended up being $20 for the heel and $30 for glazing. It was ready the next day so super quick turnover. I really appreciated the expert recommendations for my shoes. I didn't feel pressured and it didn't feel like he was just tryna make a sale. Anyways the photos of the shoes speak for it self. I was blown away at how beautiful it looked! I was worried bringing in a pair of Chanel but I am so blown away. I will definitely be coming back with my other pairs in the future. read more

I have a fairly expensive leather briefcase/brief bag (Bree) that I've used for the past 30 yrs of my career; love it but it was literally coming apart at the seams and in need of some professional TLC. OK, I'LL ADMIT IT. I WALK FUNNY. That's why I entrusted my life (and my shoes) with One-Stop Shoe Care. I love my collection of high-heeled shoes, and would much rather pay $15 to have my heels fixed than have to shell out WAY more money for a brand new pair of zapatos. After dropping off 4 pairs of shoes that looked like they had been dunked into a tank of heel-tip-eating Piranhas (jerks), I was highly skeptical that ANY shoe repair place could salvage my shoes. Boy, was I proven wrong. Not only were my shoes finished before the end of the week, but the new heels were much sturdier than the original ones. Patty even did me a solid and stayed a few minutes after closing so that I could pick up my beloved shoes after work. I had a pair of my dress shoes re-souled and got new heels put on. The workmanship was good and they were even finished a day earlier than promised which was nice. It was a little expensive $45 for leather soles and $20 for the heels and the guy that helped me when I picked them up was giving me the hard sell on some insoles which I didn't want at all. It was a little uncomfortable because he was so into my feet and shoes that I just wanted to get the hell out of there before he offered to rub my feet down. OMG, what a FIND ! Based on other YELP reviews, I took my broken TEVA Sandal to this place in hopes to salvage it - versus have to shell out another $125 on a new pair. It had a broken strap that went into the sole of the shoe. I had doubts of it being able to be repaired, but what the heck, worth a shot. I've brought the gamut of shoes in here from sandals to hiking boots and have been thoroughly impressed with the workmanship, repair and price. I had new footbeds put in my Romika walking sandals and it was only $20. I recently pulled some boots out of the storage closet that I hadn't worn in a year or so, and wore them to the field, getting them muddy and filthy. Then when I noticed it felt funny to walk, I took a closer look and saw the bottom soles were peeling away from the middle area. I'd paid a lot of money for these shoes and they are all broken in nicely so I took them here not really expecting anything could be done. He took them and said "sure no problem, $25" and then I felt terrible because I'd brought them in so dirty but he didn't seem to mind at all. Three days later, I got a call to pick them up and they were all cleaned up, uppers reconditioned and the sole firmly refastened. I was so happy to get my old friends back! Expecting warm temps soon so I pulled my Romika's back out and found them mildewed and in need of care. One guess as to where I will take them.... read more

Went here after Hi Tech Shoe repair in Concord closed to get heel taps replaced and insoles re-glued-down on a pair of boots. They did an okay job. The heel taps were normal, but the insole gluing job didn't stick--I ended up ordering glue and re-doing it at home. This isn't a huge deal, but I'm annoyed that after paying what felt like a premium price, the job didn't last. Meanwhile, I didn't love the service. The person at the counter kept trying to upsell me on having my shoes polished (which I do myself.) Not a bad cobbler, but I'm going to try some others around town next time I need shoe repair. read more

I took some shoes and boots here to be repaired - basically have tips and heels replaced. It only took a couple of days, which was great. It was $15 for each heel (just the little tip on the end of the heel), $20 for boot heels and $20 for shoe tips. They came back looking OK, but the workmanship wasn't great, and it looks like they didn't bother to clean them up at all. I've gotten tips AND heels replaced for $20 total at Galletti Shoe Repair in downtown SF, and they came back looking brand new. So maybe I have high standards, but at that price I expected better. read more

I found this place on Yelp and stopped by to get the straps on some very saucy multi-strap sandals tightened up. They punched new holes in 3 straps on each shoe (as I said, very saucy), and they DIDN'T CHARGE ME. What kind of business doesn't charge a new customer? One that wants a customer for life. The customer service is good and that's the reason for the 2nd star. I brought in my shoes for a cleaning at $7.50 and all they did was put some shoe shine on there. I could have done a better job with just the shoe shine. Anyhow, I brought my shoes to Nordstrom and they cleaned them and took off the top layer, and then polish. The shoes looked 10 times better than One-Stop's service. I cannot comment on their repair. Perhaps they do great repair jobs. Thanks Mark A. for writing the review. I just moved to Lafayette and had a pair of heels that needed rubber soles, so I don't slip and fall and break my neck. Not only did they do a great job, they matched my red soles by putting red rubber soles on the bottom. I told them there was no rush since I'm going to be out of town next week. They called to let me know it was ready 2 hours after I dropped my shoes off. Speedy! The person at the counter was super nice, and my son loved playing with his dog named Ozzie. This might be my second review. I was getting ready to go on a 3 day motorcycle trip to Tahoe and my motorcycle luggage just didn't quite fit as I wanted. Many straps but the main one was just too short. I popped in at last minute just hours before having to leave. I wasn't expecting anything to be done until I got back but just wanted them to take a look. They took my bag, made the adjustments I requested and it was back to me within 2 hours! I've had plenty of old abused shoes and purses cleaned and repaired which came out significantly better in both looks and durability. I've been going to Miguel for over 20 years, and he is the BEST! His latest miracle was salvaging my child's Gemeinhardt flute hardcase where the stitches had worn off and the paper covering was torn. He explained some ideas and I chose to have it recovered with a thick, padded material that is sort of like synthetic leather. It is better than new! The original stitches were white, so he repeated that. But it was a difficult job to penetrate that thick hard case with hand stitches. He said it wasn't perfect, but for me, the price was right and I'm happy. I have so many Miguel examples. I bought two pairs of Clarks "Wave" style walking shoes in a soft lambskin that easily tears with a cool dark metallic pewter color. I scuffed the toes. Miguel said he would match it. He ended up having to combine several colors of shoe polish to get it JUST RIGHT, just like new. I took the second pair of Clarks (same color, scuffed) to Miguel's brother, who said he would match it. The shoes came back in a coppery brown color (the brother just chose a standard spray paint color, not a custom color), not the dark metallic pewter gray, and the brother charged me more money even though Miguel did more work to match the original. Once I had a purse with an unusual metallic color strap that wore out, and somehow Miguel found a matching leather strap in that color. Another time I had a pair of leather sandals that made my toes sweaty. Miguel cut two holes in the top (on alternating sides of the shoe), in a nice curved organic style swoosh that let in more air to my feet and was done smoothly. I figure I have probably had Miguel work on around 10 belts, 5 purses, and 30 pairs of shoes (for me and my family) since the early 1990s; ok, so I used to be a Shoe Horse. If you need to get half soles on your Western boots = cowboy boots, this is the place to send them or bring them. I had a cobbler in Berkeley who retired; and I got good results from the online cobbler after that, but it's around seventy bucks all told; so when One Stop said they'd do soles for forty five bucks, whileUwait, I gave it a try and I am one hundred percent satisfied with the job. They fashioned a rubber "Vitrene" non slip sole to a pair of Tony Lamas that is just superb. I'm happy. read more
