I'm about a month into my new hot yoga journey, and OTY is everything I could ask for. I've always been tight in my muscles my entire life and loosening up has been a challenge. I found hot yoga several years ago when I was in Vegas and found it very helpful. Fast forward several years and not enough stretching later, I needed a new pathway and OTY is exactly what I needed. The staff here is AMAZING!! I can't say that enough. They really give you a sense of belonging while you're there and there is never any judgement. Everyone that goes there is on a different level and they do a great job meeting everyone at that level. Bernie is great at pushing you just enough to ease you through your comfort zone. And Lynsi must be a great story teller in real life. She has a way of projecting her words that is very calming. I'll keep you updated next month! Namaste. read more

I dropped in, as a first timer, for a hot yoga session. There was plenty of parking and lots of signs to tell you how to get there. Tracy was very inviting and gave me the run down of what to expect and got me set up in a good spot in the room. It was fun and challenging and something I will be doing again. read more

I have been practicing yoga for almost 14 years now. Found One Tree though a friend about 5 years and really found a supportive and fun place to practice mind, body, and spirit. As part of my latest self-improvement kick, hot yoga has been part of my routine. Even while on holiday in Omaha, I didn't want to deviate. Through the power of Google, I was able to find One Tree Yoga. For new students, they offer 2 weeks for $20. Since I was on vacation, I didn't bring my mat so I had to rent one -- which they offer for $2 per session. Keep in mind, if you're used to a thicker mat (especially with knee problems) the one for rent will require you to fold it over during any kneeling postures because it's on the thinner side. I was able to go to two sessions -- the first being a "Hot/Vinyasa Hybrid Hour" and a 90 minute "Hot Yoga." What is nice about One Tree Yoga is that the instructors are more than willing to give feedback and readjust your postures (I felt so bad because I was so sweaty!). Do bring: water bottle, body towel for the mat, and hand towel to wipe off the sweat. read more

I always enjoy my time at One Tree Yoga. Classes are diverse and accessible. The owners and teachers are welcoming. Classes are easy to follow, and teachers always give so many options, so yogis can decide what works in their bodies. I think people are intimidated by yoga, but that is not the vibe here. read more

This is the best hot yoga (birkim) studio in town! I was a newbie, and was upfront about that with the person at the register. She was also ultimately the instructor, so nice and very informative, going over the format of the class and explaining birkim a bit. I used to do yoga about 2-3x a week all through college, but since I moved to Omaha, I honestly have had a hard time finding studios that don't do primarily "power yoga" (yuck i hate it, it's so far from traditional yoga for me). Anyway One Tree Yoga was great, I brought my own mat, water and small towel...they provided lifesavers in case your blood sugar dropped in the heat, had folding blankets to assist into getting into positions. Their studio has one room, they have little changing rooms out in the lobby/check in area, and a little bit of merchandise (mats, yoga mat towels (for the sweat), water, some other cool goodies). The instructors vary in their style of conducting the class, some purely instructor/walk around and assist, while some instruct/assist and also participate in the poses, and others do the poses and just comment on corrections to the class. If it's your first time, let them know, they usually pay a bit more attention/go over things a bit more vs a class full of regulars. If you can't handle the heat too well or concerned you can't handle it, tell the instructors and they have recommended spots in the room where it's a bit more cooler. read more

Love this studio. My only complaint over the years was the gross carpeted flooring they used to have in the studio... hot yoga on carpet ugh. BUT! On this year's visit to Omaha, I came back to a new floor! Not sure when it got put in but it's great now! It's a quiet studio with never more than 2 people on staff. They are always pleasant! Totally different vibe from Lotus studio which based on aesthetics alone, I want to favor... but nothing beats good vibes and hospitality. I much prefer it! read more

Has to be the yoga studio for instructors and atmosphere in town (I've tried most). Everybody's great and welcoming even if you're a dude and feel stupid going to yoga. I actually give OTY 4.5 stars though because they don't really have an "advanced" class and you might find some sessions too easy, depending on what you're used to. read more

Went to yoga here and there were ants crawling around everywhere on the floor. I couldn't even focus on the yoga class because I was too busy killing the ants that were crawling on my mat, water bottle, and towel. Classes should not have even been offered due to the infestation of ants. Could not wait for the class to be over and will definitely not be returning/recommending to others. Gross!!! read more

Bought the two week pass for $20 so I was able to try a variety of classes. Loved all the classes and the instructors were great! Everybody was very friendly and welcoming! I got the sense that people who attend the classes had all gotten to know each other really well. There was a definite sense of community and support. This was especially impressive because of the diversity of clientele. There were young folks and older folks. Men and women (more men than you typically see at yoga classes). And based purely on assumption, it appeared that there was a wide variety of income levels. (The classes weren't just full of wealthy trophy wives like you see at some yoga studios.) My only complaint was that the classes seemed too full. It was hard to feel zen when I could feel my neighbor breathing on me. But aside from that I loved everything about my experience with this lovely studio! read more

One Tree is a great studio. They offer a variety of really interesting and challenging classes. Their facility is always clean. The thing I like the best is that they are good at taking students where they are and helping them improve without condescension or judgement. It is a very encouraging place. I am relatively new to yoga and not very good but they make me feel very comfortable and work within my many limitations. Whether one is very practiced or new they will fit in at One Tree Studio. I would mention some of my favorite instructors but they have all been great and they are all well trained and interesting. One Tree is very good value for your money. I have done yoga previously at my health club and One Tree Yoga teachers are more interesting and better trained than those at the health club. read more
