Stopped in for lunch after arriving in Grand Rapids. Was close enough to walk from the hotel and appeared to have decent lunch specials. The place has a full bar, but from what I could tell, is only open for breakfast and lunch (or at least when I walked by in the evening, it wasn't open). I ended up getting a Mexican bowl, which really hit the spot. It was just the right amount and the flavors were great. I also tried a lime rickey, but it wasn't my favorite. If you're near the convention center, this is also just a quick walk away for a good meal. Worth making a stop here. read more

A long story,very little busy and the afternoon was slow, bartender was exhausted, tables dirty and was the less motivated servicer I have seen in years. I took a chance and ordered a bacon cheeseburger, and it could have won the world's worst burger everyday served.I round manufacture disc. I met one of my friends at the downtown location and we got a wonderful seat on the "patio". While I did enjoy the seating, it was definitely just on the sidewalk and not like its own space. There were a lot of pedestrians, and that was the only thing that made the outdoor seating less than perfect. Besides that, I like that it's within walking distance from downtown parking. It's nice that it's within the social drinking district as well! We ended up taking our sangrias with us for a walk after we ate. As for the service, it was great! I wish I remembered the name of our server, but she was wonderful. The food was really good too! This was my first time having their non-brunch food. Definitely will go again! read more

Ok, I guess? My Founders All Day was flat out of the tap. No happy hour specials. Food was at least inexpensive if ya got the special: $10 Wet Burrito. Place was deserted when we entered on the night before Thanksgiving which should have been warning to us off the bat. Servers were friendly. We would not ever try it again. The place was absolutely packed around 6:15, by 7:30 it was almost empty. Nice bar area and kind of a rustic feel to the place. We had some cocktails, which were nicely poured and balanced with flavor and alcohol. We started with the Arizona Egg Rolls which were delightful. Not too greasy, full of flavor, and sitting on a bed of BBQ sauce and pico. We had corn chowder which really should be called potato soup with corn. The shrimp tacos were surprisingly tasty. Crunchy and the BBQ sauce have a good balance of flavor. Chris was our server, and despite essentially having two broken wrists, he delivered food, cleared plates and kept our water glasses filled. We did have to wait a while for our food; but we weren't in a hurry so it really wasn't that big of a deal. If you're in the area, it's a nice place to grab a drink and some appetizers. read more

It had been a couple years since I went to Sundance so when my friend mentioned she wanted to go because she had never been before I was in! I didn't even know they had dinner to be honest. I always thought it was just a breakfast place. We came at 630 on a Thursday evening and it was totally dead. Only like one other group and another group or 2 filtered in while we were there. The waitress was super nice and attentive! We split the Arizona egg rolls which were pretty good. They were served on top of a bbq sauce pico mix and that was really good. I enjoyed it. For my meal I had the cilantro cream enchiladas. They were fine. Nothing special and I'm almost sure the rice was just an uncle Ben's pack (which is fine, I like uncle Ben's) but I think I just expected a little fresher tasting rice at a restaurant. Our entrees came out before our app which was kind of a bummer but there was an error on their end that our server fixed. I probably wouldn't come back here for a lunch or dinner meal but I still think they have great breakfast. read more

Sundance Grill is in my regular brunch spot rotation because it usually hits the SPOT. They have all the brunch classics like breakfast tacos, waffles or simple eggs and toast. Coffee was served hot and blended sour and bitter tastes for me. The food is never bad but it's also not out of this world.... like I said it just hits the spot and I guess scratches the brunch itch. The real star of the show here is the drink menu! They have Bloody Mary's with the works and margaritas that are mixed just right. If you don't order one of those, then I recommend you try the Espresso Liqueur. The restaurant itself is clean and I think spacing between tables is also nice. Not sure why I always notice that. Service is always great too. My most recent visit was during a pub crawl and even tho my party was not participating in that event, the staff was still very nice and tried to be attentive to us. Parking is a bit of a night mare because of the down town location, so as long as you plan for that then there will be no surprises. I like to walk around after dining in because you are in the middle of everything when you dine at the down town Sundance Grill location. Overall a solid 4/5 stars! read more

It's no wonder so many restaurants are closing these days. The staff just doesn't care. We came for breakfast on a Saturday morning. We sat at the bar where there were 2 other patrons. Our service was horrible. Once the food arrived, the bartender never checked on us. I asked for a side of salsa and it was never brought. She stood around talking to other staff and putting on jewelry. The food was bland and lukewarm. We won't be back anytime soon. read more

We came in for a quick bite and beers to watch the game. Little did we know that we were going to have such an outrageous bill. Two of us had two beers and chips, salsa, and guac. All to which were pretty mids, at best. We added salt to the guac as it came out bland, would be surprised if it was made fresh and not out of a premade container. Not quite sure where to start. It was a Thursday evening and definitely was NOT busy. I sat at the bar and ordered a dirty martini, extra dirty, extra olives with Tito's. Well, when I get my drink it looks nothing like a martini and I am pretty sure I have received drinks with more alcohol for the money. Not worth the value. So I order dinner. Shrimp tacos as that is what the bartender recommended. Do not recommend those tacos. First, the tiny shrimp are deep fried and all breading. Second, the cabbage has no flavor and then there is bbq sauce all over the shrimp which makes no sense to me because the bbq sauce overpowered everything else. I could not even tell you what the green sauce tasted like. Pretty sure the refried beans came out of a can. They were dry! The rice was alright until I got to grains of rice that were hard. Definitely can understand why this restaurant is not busy at 7 pm on a Thursday evening. read more

Family vacation 2021...bringing the California variant of COVID-19 to your city. Sundance...this is where the Platinum and above Elite members of the AC Hotel get their breakfast. My hotel's cheapness and the recommendation of the front desk clerk sent me to Sundance. I ordered their corned beef hash and their Texas biscuit and gravy. The food was good. The corned beef hash had a lot of meat and potatoes in it. A sunny side egg topped the corned beef hash. It was tasty. The biscuit was a big flat biscuit topped with gravy and a sunny side up egg. There wasn't much to it. There are better things to order for breakfast. Thank you AC for being cheap and sending me here. It was great discovering Sundance. They have lots more that I can try the next time I'm here. read more

This place is AWESOME! Walked down here with friends after the 4th of July. A little hung over but we all got a Bloody Mary and shared the giant cinnamon roll to start. The four of us sat at the bar. Multiple bar tenders tended to us. Forgot the water we asked for a couple times but they were busy. I had the Cilantro enchilada and it was good, cleaned my plate. Everyone loves what they had. Someone else in the group picked up the check, but prices on the menu were reasonable. I highly recommend this place and will be back next time I am downtown for breakfast! read more

During lunch time, we only had 1 hour to eat. The place was not busy. Asked the server what could be made fast. She mentioned a BLT. So I ordered a BLT on 9/2/2025. The bacon was burnt black, piled up on my sandwich has though is was leftover from breakfast. Removed all the bacon and ate what was left on the sandwich. Sundance is a nice brunch option downtown if you'd like a cocktail with your meal. My boyfriend and I stopped in one Sunday morning before dining in was shut down and pretty much had the place to ourselves. I decided to splurge on a mimosa flight and my boyfriend ordered the Aztec coffee, both were really good! I loved being able to try a selection of different juices for the mimosa flight. For breakfast, I usually get the Acapulco scramble, which comes with a side of their potatoes which are my favorite. The potatoes are always seasoned really well and perfectly crispy on the outside and tender inside. The scramble is packed with veggies and cheese and was perfectly cooked. My boyfriend got the avocado bacon omelette, which was really good too, with lots of bacon and avocado. Our server was training and did a great job. The day we were there it was raining, but they do have outdoor seating as well. read more
