Calzone with chicken and white garlic sauce
    Victoria S.

Read amazing reviews about Bestside and it did not disappoint. Ordered the calzone that had chicken and white garlic sauce and it was so yummy! It's not stuffed full like your typical chain restaurants do, but it was the perfect amount and have good flavor, and was filling! We finished the night with their Brisket Bomb Shot, which is a whiskey shot with a side of their hot brisket au jus. They were very generous with the pour.It tasted like mega Salty beef ramen broth, which immediately cut the flavor of the whiskey. A fun experience! Our server was super nice and attentive!

Recently dined in again at Bestside since my last review and it was just as good as last time, if not better! I've had carry out a few times here since my last review as well and the food has always been very good. This past time I came for their Sunday brunch with my parents. They open at 10am on Sundays and have a brunch menu from 10-2. Everything on the menu honestly sounded amazing! I went with the hangover sammy which was honey baked ham slices, an egg, cheddar cheese, and a garlic aioli. It was honestly amazing! It was the perfect size and I lovedddd the aioli on it. My mom had the scrambled flatbread, and my dad had the best side hot chicken sandwich. Everything looked awesome and they both really enjoyed their meal. The pricing was really great also. I felt that it was super affordable. Their parking lot can get full quick but luckily they have an overflow parking lot right across Leonard!

good service, nice ambiance, big portions, good food. They do a great bunch, as well as burritos. Parking lot is a bit tight but there is a lot across the street.

Good food amazing service and close to home. Can't ask for much better than that. Best side consistently delivers on every level. We love their Sunday night $10 burger and beer special and it's nice to have a local favorite that we can all enjoy as a family. They really care about their customers and this comes through their exemplary service and delicious offerings.

Cuban with home made Tater Tots.

First time trying Bestside Bar & Grill and we will definitely be back. It was nice a dining area with the garage door open during some good weather. The staff all seemed very friendly and checked in to make sure drinks were full and nothing extra was needed. We started with the pizza puffs, which were fresh and had a nice crunch to them. I went with the Cuban sandwich and house made tater tots. Hands down the best Cuban sandwich i've had, and the tots were basically cheesy hash browns that were deep fried and tasted delicious!! Not pictured, but the mac & cheese with bacon was ordered too. It was hot, cheesy, and the bacon was crispy!

Shocked that we live close to this great restaurant however this was our 1st time getting food! We ordered take out and it was ready much sooner than expected which was nice. We had the spicy burger with tots and smokehouse burger with truffle fries. At 1st we were surprised to only have 7 tots however they are very large and filling. Both burgers had double patties that were meaty and juicy. They give you plenty of toppings on the burger and the bun was toasted. We both really enjoyed our burgers and the truffle fries were a hit. We will order again and explore the menu. Parking is a bit tricky at the actual restaurant hence why we did take out.

    Brunch Menu 03/2021

We came here on a Saturday morning (11:30AM) and it was our first visit here. Pleasantly surprised to see they had a brunch going on from 10AM to 2PM on Saturdays - fair warning, their regular menu is not available during this time. I haven't been to this building in YEARS but the update that Bestside has done is AMAZING. Bright, open, clean and welcoming. The glass garage doors make a world of difference! Love it! It was seat yourself, but all the tables were spread out pretty far. All the staff were wearing mask, minus one bartender - his buff was never pulled up, always around his neck. I was really impressed with the brunch menu! Although it was on the smaller side, everything looked/sounded amazing! They do have some al a cart items you can order for kids, however, there is no kids menu. I started with a Bloody Mary and I was pleasantly surprised with the spice level and the horseradish flavor - so good! Menu said "house made" and I never believe that when I read that statement... but I did this time! Plus, it came with a loaded skewer - so good. For our food, I ordered my kids the Waffle Monte Cristo and split that between them. They loved it and i thought it was REALLY good, too. Two waffles and a good helping of potatoes - lots of food! I got the Hot Chicken Benedict and was absolutely blown away. SO GOOD. Like, I'm craving it right now. It comes with two pieces of chicken, biscuits, a healthy helping of potatoes, and delicious hollandaise sauce over two perfectly poached eggs. I ate until I was full and had enough to bring home for the next morning. Chicken had great flavor and nice heat, not overwhelming but just enough! My sister got the Biscuits and Gravy and enjoyed it, too. She had plenty to take some home, as well. I definitely look forward to coming back here for brunch again! I was really impressed with the food and I definitely want to try their regular menu next! Great addition to the West Side!

As soon as you walk in, there are games, chips for sale, and a water cooler with reusable cups. The place was busy. Many folks eating and drinking. There were two seats at the bar, both on either side of a young lady; so I asked if I could take one and she said yes! As it turned out, she was an off duty employee just having a beer. We chatted a bit while I ordered a flight. I love that the flight is not limited. You can have as many 2.5 ounce beers as you want! Each are priced separately. I perused the food menu and checked out the merch. Sadly they did not have the tshirt I liked in my size. They also sell beanies, glassware and hoodies. Oh, and beer to go! I enjoyed the two IPAs with Good Good being my fave, followed by IPA#1. The porter was good and so was the Kona brown. The fade was my least fave, and it pretty much tasted like Guinness, but I did drink it all. I have preferences but I also have values! Lol. The off duty employee and I chatted awhile, even looping in the bar tender and my other bar stool neighbor, especially when it came down to naming the artists on the decorative candles (see pic). We were having so much fun that we decided on her having another beer and me getting a couple more samples. The Mosacca IPA was really good. The Economy, gotta love the name, was also good and the most affordable beer! Look at them looking out for the people. Loved this place. The locals are friendly. Did not eat but all the food I saw looked good! Would return to enjoy more beer, fun convos and to buy a size small shirt!

They have a smaller dining space, so a reservation is recommended (you have to call, no online option) but when we arrived, they were ready and seated us promptly! We each got some sort of steak, potato and veggie combo and it was all VERY delicious! They offer you complementary homemade bread (this did take a bit of time, but they were warm when they came out) and we easily devoured it! I will say that it was a little slower than anticipated, but still very good. I would hope the bread would come out sooner than our appetizers. I ordered the caesar salad (very large) and included bleu cheese which was not listed on the menu. I would definitely list that on the menu unless it was an accident? We got bleu cheese on the bruschetta which listed another cheese, so again, I do think that they need to disclose this. I like it but most do not! I also ordered the $29 steak deal, which for the size and meal, I am very happy with! I ordered it medium rare and it was cooked properly. More rare than medium, which is how I like it! I think I'd like to come back and try it again, but for a good steak meal, it's approachable without feeling like it's TOO casual with peanuts on the ground. Parking is available across the street, but you do have to cross West River Drive, which can be a lot, but cars were patient while we made our way across. I'll definitely be back!

My husband and I decided to check this place out on a Monday night for dinner. He had been craving a good steak for awhile, and we were excited to try a new spot. Nearly immediate disappointment. It was completely empty when we walked in, and right away we were asked if we had a reservation. We did not. The hostess seemed a little put off by this, but sat us anyway. I do understand that it's possible they had a whole group of reservations about to show up, but it was an off-putting reaction for our first time in. Our tablecloth was a little dirty and the music was a little loud, but we didn't want that to deter us, so we ordered drinks, and started looking over the menu. I decided on the salmon, and my husband was deciding on which steak. It turns out, they were out of the 6oz and all 3 of the 10oz steaks. If we had known this when we were seated, we may have come back another night. He decided on the 16oz Prime New York Strip with asparagus and mashed potatoes as the sides. Oh, they were also out of the salmon, so I ordered the shrimp accompaniment and the side Caesar salad. Already facing disappointment since they were out of so much of the menu. It got so much worse when the food arrived. The steak certainly didn't look like an actual 16oz cut, and was as thin as a cafeteria steak. It was at least cooked as asked at medium rare and had a decent char, but it was also served nearly room temperature. The steak knife was also super dull, which didn't help. The asparagus melted in your mouth, in a kind of over-cooked way, and the potatoes were so dry it was like they had been under a heat lamp for half an hour. The gravy basically tasted like a cheap canned gravy. My Caesar salad was...weird. Yes, it was a side salad, but the bowl it came in was huge, so it looked like a sad little thrown together salad. It tasted fine until I got to the bottom and there were massive chunks of bleu cheese. First of all, the menu did NOT say the Caesar would have bleu cheese - I wouldn't have ordered it. And I'm not sure it was supposed to be there since it was just chunks at the bottom, almost like they started serving the wrong salad and just plopped the correct one on top. The shrimp accompaniment was the star of the whole meal. Decent sized, seasoned well, and not over-cooked. The whole experience was just not good. I'm giving 2 stars since we did eat our food, and didn't complain to anyone, but realistically we probably should have just left when we learned they were out of 4 of their 8 steaks and the basic fish entree. Based on the experience, and how many other restaurants there are in town, I'm pretty confident we won't go back.
