There are more cons then pros to the VRDS…read more I registered my daughter in July to complete her training and get her license. The teachers she had during the 7 hours of supervised driving and observation were great, she told me she enjoyed her training and the teachers and gained a better sense of driving. When I first registered her, we walked into the office and were greeted by a blonde lady who treated us incredibly rudely. She was dismissive and hostile. We tried inquiring about the documents that we needed to bring in order to get registered, and she was rude and impudent in telling us what we needed to bring, instead of calmly informing us. A couple months later when I registered her to take her driver's test, we had that same blonde lady who had that obtrusive behavior monitor her for her test. While I was filling out some papers, I was unsure where to sign on a particular sheet since there were two blanks for the parent/guardian, and when I asked her where to sign, she gave me a rude look and unmannerly said "You sign on the line", as if I was foolish to even be asking a question. When I proceeded to show it back to her, it turned out that she ended up telling me to sign on the wrong line, and dismissively showed me a different place to sign instead of owning up to her mistake. My daughter also told me that during the test, she had a very impertinent tone and even criticized her for the parking spot she chose when they were coming back to the school, when her directions were simply to "park in front of the school". This behavior is absolutely disrespectful, especially since this is a stressful test that teens are anxious for. We were also told that we could get the license on the same day as her test, but the lady refused us because it was too close to her 18th birthday. Really wish we could've known that sooner (since it wasn't mentioned to us during her sessions or on the website). Overall, this lady's treatment of us was horrible, arrogant, ingracious, and disgusting, we were so relieved to walk out and never come back. I would give this school one star, or better yet zero, but I am giving it two stars for the two gracious teachers, (not including the blonde lady) Mr. Ward and Mr. Russell, for treating my daughter with patience and kindness, and easing her nerves about driving. However, I would not recommend this school at all. Please take your money somewhere else to a school that actually respects the kids. Overall a horrible experience for me and my kid. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE, GO SOMEWHERE ELSE.

I came to learn about The Driving Institute, earlier in the year in January - I had a relatively bad experience with another Driving School, after 10hrs of road experience with that school... I booked myself in originally for 2hrs behind the wheel private lessons (which after I passed my driving test - I added in a further 2hrs later in the year to gain some confidence with Interstate and Highway driving), and I must say from the moment I contacted Miranda at The Driving Institute, I was greeted with nothing but friendliness and professionalism. I had my lessons with Mr Rossi [The 2hrs were split into 1hr sessions] and I have to say just after 2hrs, my confidence rose to further than what it was after 10hrs with my previous instructor. He fixed any issues I had within seconds with such simple techniques. He's a great teacher and he knows his stuff! It was well worth my drive from Richardson just for the lessons - I couldn't recommend anyone better to get you ready for these fast and furious Texas roads.
