STORE CLOSING BY June 30, 2026. UPDATED REVIEW (May 2026) -- One World Shop is amazing. It's a fair trade store which means that the products come from businesses that ensure safe working conditions and fair wages for workers. The store has a vast array of homegoods items to buy from candles, clothing (dresses), incense, handbags and wallets, etc. They also sell Storehouse tea and chocolates. EVENTS -- They have events that you can attend such as fair trade talks. I visited for an event in May 2025 which was a private tea and chocolate event organized by a Facebook women's food group. It cost only about $25. My friend Olga planned the wonderful event and it was awesome. She collaborated with One World Shop in purchasing some of their teas (Storehouse brand tea) and lots of their chocolates. Tables and chairs were laid out in the store for a fun tea party with plenty of chocolates to try. There was so much chocolate that many of us even had whole chocolate bars to go home with, including myself. The store also had mini tea snacks for us to eat, including a small sandwiches I visited One World Shop again recently in early March 2026 for a Fair Trade talk by Francesca B. of the Hope Collection store in Oberlin, Ohio. She spoke about her fair trade store, traveling to Ecuador during the start of her business, and what it means for products to be fair trade. It was a nice 30 min presentation and we got to ask questions afterwards. There were about 15 people who attended the presentation. One World Shop provided complimentary snacks such as mini pizza bites, lots of Storehouse tea, some macarons, and fruit just for the fair trade event. It was a lovely time of learning and meeting new people. If you are looking for gifts or just want to do general shopping, I highly recommend this store. The value and quality of the products are great. The 2 women who manage the store are friendly which good customer service is always nice to see. Updated Review: Adding more context to my review about available events at One World Shop. I organized tea party here. I included a cute event page (tea party) they created for our group. The shop does NOT offer chocolate parties (not yet anyway). They were gracious enough to allow our group to bring in chocolate from local stores and support their fair trade chocolate, which we set up ourselves. It's a great idea for anyone hosting to add! We tasted the following from their store which I bought at the store: Zotter Coconut Labooko Chocolate Bar, Zotter Wild Berries with Vanilla Mini Bar, Zotter Apple Pie (Hand-scooped Chocolate), Zotter Macadamia in Blackcurrant (Balleros), Divine chocolates (variety), Equal Exchange, Women's Bean Project Chocolate Covered Espresso Beans, and Alter Ego Chocolate. I very highly recommend Zotter hand scooped chocolate and chocolate covered espresso beans! They were a crowd favorite! Want a gem in our city! I love love love this store! The store is committed to fair trade, and all employees truly live out that mission. The store has global treasure of such variety - chocolate, tea, candles, sweets, clothes, accessories, house wares, home decor, children's books, pet treats, and so much more. I was blown away by the variety of merchandise, quality, and the number of regions that this store supports. My favorites were hand scooped chocolates, especially apple pie from Zotter, chocolate covered espresso beans from Women's Bean Project. I also really loved the fact that there were so many children's books about the world and empowering topics. Whether you're entertaining, gifting, or just want to treat yourself, you'll find everything you need at this store. It has an open layout and treasures in every single corner. Considering how far these treasures traveled and the quality, the value is excellent. They offer shipping and pickup options too. I found pick up options to be excellent! Every brand has a beautiful story of impact, it's a wonderful assortment of do good brands. Purchasing anything from the store makes you feel like you're making a difference. This store also hosted women's group that I'm a part of at their location. I was coordinating the event (tea party). The store was very attentive to all of our needs, very responsive, and just blew us away with everything! We had 27 guests. They provided us with tasty lemonades, teas, cupcakes, savory and sweet treats. We got to experience Storehouse Tea. We paid $20 per person which was a great value. They also did a wonderful presentation about fair trade. We felt very welcome and very well cared for. The event was during golden hour and the way the sun illuminated the entire store. I was very grateful to the team of One World Shop for all the hard work. The store has wonderful volunteer opportunities on their board and in their store. Look into community events that they organize and upcoming events in store! Without hesitation, I'd host more events and shop in this store. Not only have I been an Elite Yelper for a dozen years, but I also belong to a women's food group (apparently I can't get enough of eating and socializing). It was through this group that I attended a special event at One World Shop, my first time in this store! For a meager $20 we were to learn about the store and partake in tea and chocolate. These days I try to limit my time on social media so when I signed up for this event I was not too entirely sure what all it would entail. I just thought it would get me out of the house and I was open to a new experience. Honestly though, everything that ended up being included in this event far exceeded the money paid. There were little finger sandwiches (cucumber cream cheese and egg salad), two different gourmet flatbreads, cupcakes & brownies, multiple Storehouse Teas to try, sangria, and an overwhelming amount of chocolates from around the world. On top of the treats, you got a 15% shopping discount and a free bar of soap with any store purchase! I spoke with Colleen who manages the store and learned a great deal about fair trade. This is definitely something I want to support more of. I like that artisans in poverty all over the world are paid fairly for their creations instead of being taken advantage of. I also like that these workers are empowered further by being given financial education as well to help them manage their monies and climb out of poverty. Skills and traditions are also kept alive as younger generations start to see the benefits of a craft and the growth it can bring to their communities. I ended up purchasing some spice (paprika, but apparently you can't go wrong as I was told that several of the spices tastes great on popcorn), and a large pretty decorative rock. I will be back for those cute animal covers for hot pan handles and the lovely felt plant leaf garland! I thought there was a good selection of unique items and that the pricing was reasonable/affordable, which is not always the case at boutique stores in Rocky River. If you've read my reviews you know that I don't just blow smoke up bums. I believe it is a disservice to pretend everything is okay when it is not. This review is no exception as there were some issues with the event. Several who purchased tickets did not receive an email confirmation and had to check their bank statement to make sure the purchase went through. There was not enough seating which caused some confusion and a few attendees behaved poorly before remedies were made. There was also a lack of structure with the chocolate display which unfortunately caused many attendees to rudely start grabbing chocolates while they were still being put out and to gluttonously snatch up as many chocolate samples as possible before everyone could have one pass through (I saw one woman pack a lot of chocolate into her purse and coat pockets). So why am I still giving 5 stars? Because this was the first big group event for the host. Managing 25+ people can be hectic so some kindness and grace needs to be given here. There was clearly a lot of time, effort, and money put into the event. Some things are learned by experience, but even with much planning issues can still pop up, and there will always be someone complaining. Also, adults can be rude and self-centered which is no fault of the business or host. Overall, I enjoyed myself and will patronize One World Shop in the future! read more

The fair trade supports the various local artisans, providing them fair pay for their products. There is a variety of price ranges including many cute very affordable items. This is the CUTEST shop! Whether you have/know kids, readers, environmental enthusiasts, socially conscious people, cooking lovers, foodies, fashion lovers - this store is for you!! Everything is super reasonably priced and supports a great cause. This is a one stop shop for Christmas gifts, and I will be recommending it to everyone I know. The jewelry is so cute, and ranges from super classy to fun and colorful. Same with clothes and household decor. There's something for everyone on your list here. Hi! It's me! Reviewing ANOTHER fair trade shop. Are you surprised?! Since Northeast Ohio has so few of them, I've been on a mission to find them all. This particular shop is located in downtown Rocky River and offers free street parking. The shop looks small from outside but it is actually HUGE! If you're unfamiliar, fair trade is an institutional arrangement to help creators in developing countries achieve economic prosperity. Fair trade ensures makers are given quality wages for their work. Everything is handmade, locally-produced and profits go directly into the hands of low-income people (especially women). So, in short, when you buy something fair trade, you are literally helping someone put food on the table and achieve economic independence. Color me deeply impressed. This store is thoughtfully curated in such a meaningful way. This particular shop doesn't carry much in the way of clothing, but rather shines in jewelry, small gifts, and home goods. The home goods section is easily their strongest selection. From pottery to wall decor and candles to blankets, you could outfit an entire room beautifully with items no one else will ever have. No two items are the same. The manager at One World Shop is remarkably well-versed on the inventory. I am always surprised and delighted when you can pick up an item and the manager can tell you exactly what country it came from! She was super nice and helpful. I love shopping. Theres no way around it. Retail therapy is the best kind of therapy. But it gets even better when you're helping others. One world shop is completely fair trade, but you get well made goods for great prices. I always stop here first for special events jewelry, little knick knacks for the house, or a thoughtful gift. But the last time I visited really prompted this review. I visited with a friend and kept going back to this awesome orange purse that was under $30, going back and forth if I should buy it or not. The lady finally convinced me to get it, and I'm so glad I did! Everywhere I go strangers compliment me on this bag! I tried searching for it online and it ended up being worth 3x the price I paid. I used One World Shop's online store and curbside pickup last week for Mother's Day. I was astonished at the wide selection available online and found it hard to choose! Pickup was easy and efficient, and the employee was helpful and friendly as always. My mom really enjoyed her gifts! I would recommend shopping online and in store to anyone. Women love their worldly trinkets! THE UP-SIDE: An interesting array of smaller gifts from around the world. Lot's of musical instrument type stuff and fun little trinkets, etc. If you're looking for something to buy that earthy / spiritual type friend of yours, this just might be the place. THE DOWN-SIDE: Eh, this is more of a store for women than men. While I have bought great gifts here, I always feel a little out of touch being the only dude in a store full of broads! I need to make this perfectly CLEAR: This is a whites only establishment. The store clerks were on me the second I entered the store and shadowed me until I left. I am disgusted and insulted by this ignorant behavior. I've always visit One World Shops in other cities I've lived or visited - Ann Arbor, Cambridge, Georgetown, Portland, etc - but never have I ever been shadowed. I have always gone to One World Shops to buy unique fair trade gifts, but after I realized I was being followed in the store by the store clerks, I put down the items I was planning to buy and walked next door to Whole Foods where I bought the same, but BETTER gifts. Fuck you One World Shop for your ignorance and racist attitude. You're clearly not representative of the One Word Shop community or its spirit. read more

I found this fair trade store to be well rounded in the goods they carry. I enjoyed seeing so many clothing options compared to how it was a few years back. Recently they had a shoe event which was really fun and unique. And I enjoy attending the rug events they've had in the past. It is such a tactile experience to pick up and hold such a wide variety of handmade items from developing countries. I always make it a point to buy gifts for my friends and family from here. Not only can I find something that perfectly fits my loved ones, I know that the purchases I make go to empower people all over the world. We keep Wheels on the Bus book in the car, along with the cd when we go to and from school. The kids love learning about Guatemala. The fair trade coffee is incredible, smooth and rich, not overly acidic. One World Shop is my one stop shop. read more

yep. i love the free trade worldly gifts. if you were wondering where to get those cozy wool hats, scarves and gloves made in the andes mountains by a little old woman not in a sweat shop, well, ten thousand villages is the place. and i was. so i was good to go. aside of the free traded cozy knitted pieces of comfy, you can pick up various other neat stuff. ornaments? yep. hand made jewelry ranging from pretty cheap (but still quality) to kinda pricey? yep. drums for that drum circle you're planning? yep. and very friendly service. so wrap yourself up in your newly purchased gloves, scarf and hat, put on some fancy jewelry, and bang on your drum. what? i don't know. yelp ate half my review. i don't know where i was going with it. good place. good stuff. good people. and apparently freely traded. read more
