The staff is professional and courteous. Received a shellac manicure from a new manicurist Danielle and she was kind and very precise on her application. She felt bad because she was so new and I appreciated her candor on being new to the shellac and was more than willing to be patient with her. I've scheduled another for myself and my daughter and look forward to seeing her become more confident in her abilities. Also, have received several massages from Haley. I would choose almost any where else in Lynchburg over the Personal Touch/One21 team. Waxes are not thorough and the technicians also don't seem to care. Intimidating staff if you book with someone else, very possessive of clients and only seem to care about the cash flor. Came here for a Brazilian, I don't usually go here but they are a little more convenient to get to than my usual place. Lindsey waxed me and she was super nice. I just got home and I'm looking at it in the light and the wax itself was not very good. She missed quite a few spots. And not just some tough to get hairs but full on patches. She herself noticed that she missed a spot earlier and asked if I still wanted her to remove it. Ummm, it's a Brazilian, you're supposed to remove EVERYTHING. That's the point. It was a very sloppy and lazy job. Even though the experience itself wasn't bad it wasn't worth the money. If I wanted a half done job I would've done it myself. Probably won't come here again unfortunately because the people were friendly and the place was so nice. I just can't justify paying $55 dollars to be disappointed. Ps. I usually go to Barb at Soho. My friend and I went together and they made sure we sat together and could spend the time with each other. Terrible quality. They were overbooked on a random Wednesday before 3pm so I settled for an express pedicure, but had to wait an hour. Express is only a quick soak, trim, & polish. No buffing. The polish lasted a week, which is bizarre. Overpriced. Poor quality. Staff is polite. read more

I have been to this salon on several occasions and have consistently have encountered rude behavior. They act as if they are doing you a favor despite their higher prices. The man who sits closest to the front door will literally try to watch a game or something on his cell phone while he does your nails (yanks your hands around). The other day (my last and final visit), another customer put a nail sample box on the edge of his station and he literally yelled at her, "don't put that there! It doesn't go there." The embarrassed women apologized and sat down. I wouldn't recommend this salon to anyone. read more

I enjoyed my massage! My co-worker would always talk about the salon, so when it came up on Groupon I decided to purchase a voucher. The lady i had was small and petite, but very good. My only complaint is that the room was a little brighter than I would have liked. But I couldn't say anything because it was from the window. It would be nicer if they added some darker curtains. I was a customer of Personal Touch and had nothing short of amazing experiences with Barb. She was AMAZING at Brazilian waxes. I understood that she left shortly before they moved sites and changed the name to One21... I decided to give them a shot anyway due to my wonderful experiences with Personal Touch and understanding "they were under the same ownership/management". Sadly, my experience with One21 was not at all the same. The young lady who did my wax was VERY rushed and not at all thorough. Anyone who has had a Brazilian wax knows that it is not the kind of wax you whiz through without any regard for the customer's comfort and it is no fun to have a ton of wax left on you in very sensitive places. It's been several month since I went so I am considering giving them one more shot... But, if I do I will make sure I do NOT get the same specialist that I got last time. THIS IS THE PLACE TO GO FOR WAXING!!!!!!!!!!!! Barb does a fantastic job and I can honestly say that a brazilian wax no longer makes me cringe (a 5 out of 10 for pain). Two different types of wax are utilized and Barb's professional attitude really makes it as pleasant as possible. She has clients that travel from out of town/state for her services and it is very apparent why. They also have Shellac by CND...weeks of beautiful color that dries enough in two minutes to dig your keys out of your purse. Some of the worst eyelash extensions I have ever experienced. The $75 "lash special" was absolutely horrible. It took her all of 30 minutes and they were not individually applied, making the end result clumpy and painful. Sloppy technique and way too much glue made it so I could hardly fall asleep. Very painful!! I went elsewhere to have them safely removed as soon as I possibly could. The worst part is the owner (who applied them) ironically was training another woman on how to do the same poorly executed work!!! My pedicure was amazing! Very nice even though it took longer than I thought it would. However, my paint chipped on my big toe the very next day, and I noticed that my nails were not trimmed properly or filed down smoothly--which is why my paint chipped. Barb Roakes no longer works at Personal Touch; however, she can be found at SOHO Spa on Forest. I, unfortunately, found this out the hard way when I scheduled an appointment at Personal Touch with her, only to arrive and find out she had not been there in months. This was very inconvenient for me and also unprofessional on their part to have intentionally neglected to inform me that she was no longer offering her services at their establishment. I almost felt as though I had been hoodwinked into giving them my business. I also was not pleased with the service that I received there that day, as it was rushed, impersonal, and sloppy. I am so happy, and thankful to have located Barb, as personal touch's failure to inform clients is incredibly independent of her service. read more

My first experience today at Personal Touch, and I was impressed with the array of services offered. I chose to have facial and ear candling. The facial was so relaxing that I completely forgot where I was there. Soothing music while being pampered was a treat, although I felt it ended abruptly, not sure why. But then again, I was so relaxed I may have just zoned out! The ear candling was something I had never tried, and felt it very soothing. Barb was excellent and walked me through every part so I was not apprehensive at all. A great experience so I will go back! read more

I got an eyebrow wax and a French bikini wax by a woman named Monica. I have never felt more uncomfortable in my life and will never go to this place again. She was rude and did not speak to me much at all. Also French bikini goes in further than a regular bikini and the wax I received was barely a regular bikini wax. I walked out of there wanting to cry. Sadly, this is the worst waxing experience of my life. read more
