Absolute garbage will not work with you on any loans. Will hold you hostage and freeze your accounts. They froze mine on an account that my dad opened up for me when I was a kid. I kept using it for 20 plus years I didn't know his name was on my account. So my dad had to foreclose on his house because he got laid off. So unknowingly they held my account hostage to get his payment when it was my money that I earned. That's how they do business. read more

I am very sad to have to write this review I have been a member of this bank for over 10 years now. I have always received amazing service. However since this bank did a technology upgrade it has made my life much harder. Like many people I work very hard for my money but still live pay check to pay check. For years past my bank always posted my funds the night prior to my pay check date which was very convient knowing my check would be avalible first thing Friday morning. I always set up direct payments for Friday morning when my check goes in. Last week my check didn't post u til 6am which was upsetting but I luckily didn't have any payments scheduled. I called the bank to ask why my check was late. They informed me of the upgrade. Which I understand. I asked if should chance my scheduled payments and was told this would not be nessary as the bank will always post my check prior to any scheduled payments. What a lie this turned out to be. I was hit with payments and over draft fee prior to my check posting. Now 9:15 am and still no check. Called bank and was told they would have it deposited to my account in 30 mins. I would have to call back on Monday to have the NSF fee removed. I just spent 40 mins on hold and low I have to do this again on monday! The person I spoke with told me to set up my auto payments for later in the day on Friday. This is not possible they are scheduled payment arrangements I don't set the time the payments get posted to my account only the day. Was informed I would have to call every week to have the NSF fees removed. What kind of service is this? I am fine with my check not depositing before midnight on Friday morning. But it should at the very least go in some time soon after midnight on Friday. Every one of my coworkers who use other banks in AZ have there checks deposited shortly after midnight. I felt bad for the man I spoke with at One AZ Credit Union as he was noticeably frantic. Dealing with call after call from upset members. I was very polite to him as I know it is not his fault. But obvious other people have been taking their frustrations out on him. One AZ employees have always been helpful and polite. It's a shame they have to now deal with upset customers. And a shame bank members have to deal with this added headache. I for one will unfortunately be looking for a new bank. It's a shame because I loved my bank but now I am forced to go elsewhere. I hope that they figure out a way to fix this. Again not looking for my check a day early but soon after midnight as I finish writing this it is 20 mins after bank opened for the day and still no check in my account. Please get your act togeather as I am sure I will not be the first member or last to leave your bank due to this technology upgrade. read more

These people need to learn what customer service means. They keep holding my deposits so that my financial planning is impossible as I never really know how much is available. To top it off they have lied to me about the dates that funds would be available. The purpose of a checking account is for me to use it to pay bills, but if I never know how much is in the account this becomes impossible. They screwed up a car purchase price because they refused to do indirect lending with the dealer so I went to a different credit union, which was more than happy to make my purchase easy. I am in the process of closing my accounts at OneAZ forever. I do NOT recommend this credit union. read more

I thought I was doing something good by using a local state Credit Union but my experiences have not been great. We had a business account with them for a few years, business went on hold for a couple of months, while we were away there was an unauthorized transaction that we were unaware of that put our account into the negative. We were not informed of this overdrawn situation as it would have been resolved immediately. When we returned to our bank needing its services we were informed that our account was completely empty, in the negative and has been closed, all without any contact or information of this! Also I was sent away with incorrect info in regards to getting a check cashed at the issuing bank. At the issuing bank attempting to cash this check using this info they provided me, I was told that actually the information I was given was incorrect but, my original bank could have verified my identity at their location before I left and could have prevented my now serious lack of cash from this business check we needed that we couldn't cash because of the sudden closing of our business account. We will not be reopening our business account at this bank. read more

You can try and remove all the negative reviews you want oneaz but that doesn't change the truth. For the last few years from age 18-now 22 I've felt pretty stuck with this credit union because I felt it would be an okay idea since my mom has it (that'll change soon). These people are the absolute worst. I had a loan with this bank and unfortunately I came on a tough time where I was in between the last day of my last job and the start date of my current employer and unfortunately that was a few weeks (which is another story in itself) I had contacted Suzanne about my situation and that I wouldn't be able to make a payment until about 2 weeks after the due date, but to make it up I'd just pay the full remaining balance ($222.22). I was told it would be okay since as long as I didn't go over 30 days with nonpayment. Well just about a few more days until payday my debit card was declining and not only that but my mother's was too for a couple of days too. Neither of us knew why but contacted the credit union to see what was going on, apparently they decided to close my bank account because of the late payment AND we found out that my mother and I were somehow under the same account which is why her account was closed too. We never intended to share a savings account, which I don't understand how she would even be on there since she never opened my account for me, and it's not like our accounts were dependent on each other, like her money was hers, mine was mine, my checking account would show $800 hers would show probably a lot more than that. So my mom agreed to pay the money to have her account open. I paid my mother not only the $222 owed but ANOTHER $200 just to be nice and makeup for the inconveniences she went through. My bank account remained closed, and I'm okay with that, yes oneaz I'm not the biggest fan of you guys anymore either, I honestly was planning on closing it not very long after this anyway, I'm sure you knew this, then reported me to chexsystems to make it hard for me to open other accounts which was pretty unnecessary and just done out of sheer spite because you knew you were going to get the money back from me soon. I don't like how they treat their customers, they never seem to want to help you, never want to meet you at least a quarter way (instead of telling you're customers what you can't do, tell them what you can), and it was pretty foul of this bank to lie to me by saying nothing would happen to me for being 2 weeks late, BUT they dragged my mom into too. She couldn't even buy groceries for 4 days. Her payments towards bills were declined as well and that I do not appreciate. We were allegedly joined in a account this whole time never seeing any currency from each other but I honestly think this was just convenient for them to do so they could get money from her. Keep my family out of it. By the way Desert federal is a much better credit union honestly. Good thing I'm young because I have my whole life ahead of me not to affiliate with you guys. read more

I've been with them for 3 or 4 years, they have a branch right on ASU West campus in Glendale so that was super handy. I had a few issues with wording once on their transfers but when I went to talk to them they settle those issues and the wording that confused me was actually changed in their disclosure statements soon after, they likely had other people confused but I'd like to think it was just cause of how awesome I am. When the checking fee kicked in I had them switch me into a student checking account so I could get 5 years free checking, but now that I'm working again my direct deposits would keep me from getting a fee so for me it worked out great but I do agree there would be some reprive for people who aren't students and are unemployed though...I suppose using your debt card 10 times a month to avoid the fee isn't the hardest thing in the world, especially if you ever buy anything at 99 cents only. They also have coinstar machines at a couple branches, and if your a member you don't pay that crazy 11% fee which saved me a ton! I really hope my pleasant experiences continue with them when I get the chance to buy a house. read more

DO NOT GET YOUR MORTGAGE FROM ONEAZ. They have been OK as a bank overall, but the mortgage service is pretty bad. They work with DOVENMUEHLE on all their mortgages, and if you ever have to talk directly to them I wish you luck. DOVENMUEHLE somehow entered an incorrect mailing address, which we were never associated with, on our loan in 2016. We noticed it and attempted to change it in 2018 using their official change of address form. It never got changed. We just closed out the loan and found out they mailed our $2300 refund check to that same bogus address. They would not reissue the check without this 'change of address' form... EVEN THOUGH WE ONLY ASKED THEM TO SEND THE CHECK TO THE PROPERTY WHICH WAS MORTGAGED...OUR PRIMARY HOME WHICH IS ON RECORD WITH ONEAZ. Anyways we filled out the form and sent it on their secured email system twice. 10 days later we get a response that they never received it. At that point we spoke to someone who PROMISED TO GET TO THE BOTTOM OF THIS... 48 hours later we have received no feedback. Ugh. read more

When I checked my balance on a Sunday afternoon, I saw I was $1.11 overdrawn by mistake. First thing on the way to work on Monday morning, I stopped at the ATM to make a deposit, thinking it was covered and didn't have to worry. When I got to work, I checked online banking and it showed an $35 NSF fee. WHAT? Chase and the other big banks do their work on week day nights which allow you to recoup an overdrawn amount ahead of time without getting an NSF. But no, ONEAZ dinged me on the spot on a Sunday afternoon. I was shocked, I had no clue they did this. After reading the reviews, it makes no sense to even call to complain, they won't reverse it. Needless to say, I closed the account, not going to be prey to that practice anymore. read more

Now I have a fleet and have finally been able to grow my business. I go to the ASU branch the most and am consistently impressed with all of the staff. Our experience with ASCU Equity Loan process was horrendous. They lied to us, insulted our intelligence and were bumbling incompetent. We spent over a month going through the process of getting an Equity Loan only to found out after 4 weeks that they should of never even started the lengthy process. We wrote two members of the ASCU Board of Directors and never even received any sort of response. Not even a 10 second email or call saying "sorry for your bad experience, we are looking into this". The ASCU's "Core Values" include trust and accountability. Their 'Vision Statement" includes providing the highest responsive service. We feel they have failed at their intentions. If I could give this financial institution negative stars, that would be the choice! I have been banking with them since Feb of 2017. Biggest mistake I've ever made! As with all relationships, everything was great in the beginning. However, as time passed, I eventually started to recognize their practices and procedures were are very prehistoric and are deemed to make them money! NEVER have I banked with an institution that does not allow an opportunity to bring an account balance positive BEFORE charging a $35 NSF fee. For example, I check my account regularly. If I notice a transaction processed (that morning mind you) that caused my account to go negative, I generally will put funds into the account to bring the balance positive. However, this greedy institution has already charged a $35 NSF fee BEFORE I even had an opportunity to 'correct' the account balance. When I call customer service, no one shows any empathy or even apologizes for misinformation given. They literally become defensive and it's an argument with your ex-boyfriend before you know it. I have filed a complaint with the BBB because of their greedy practices. Shame on you for robbing hard-working people! read more

So heres another update. I had no money on my daughters 4th birthday because I still had no card. I finally ended up getting my card, called to activate it and spoke "yes" to keeping my old pin. Never let me use my pin and kept saying invalid so I used credit and it worked. I guess when I did that it deactivated my card. F****** BULL****. I used my card twice and now all of a sudden its deactivated because IT DIDNT SAVE MY PIN LIKE IT WAS SUPPOSED TO. I have been humiliated twice in front of a ton of people because my card doesn't work so people think I don't have money. I am sick of it and going in first thing tomorrow and getting my money out. I now hate this credit union with a passion and will do anything to keep people away from that horrible place. Never put your money in that place. read more

I have "banked" at crdit unions for over 40 years. They are not as "greedy" as banks. We use AZSCU in Payson and the staff is excellent. Great personalized service, they know us and never send us away displeased. I would give them 5 stars except for the dollar limit on web bill pay. read more

One AZ is like a bank....no better and no worse. I can see no compelling reason to leave my money with them than I do with other institutions. I use one other bank and one credit union besides one AZ. No difference between them except perhaps that 1Az has worse hours. In terms of loans (which I've done) and credit cards, they are a lot worse. In realty loans it takes an act of God to get the final payout to pay off the loan. Will never go to them for a loan again. Credit cards: I've had one of theirs for several years. They advertise about rewards but as yet I don't know what they are or how to get them. The problem, as I see it, is that 1 az subcontracts all parts of their business to others who in turn subcontract to others and the list goes on. Anything you want to do has to filter through all these subcontractors which takes an unbelievable amount of time since none are interested in moving faster than a snails pace. If you're thinking that 1 az is an Arizona company then think again. They're really based out of California but trying to get anything done leads to subcontractors which are all over, literally, the united states. read more

i Have been with Az one formerly Arizona State Savings and credit union for 35 years since I was in college. I will be closing my account. I check my balance, am good about writing down debit card transactions and in all the years I have had this account have had maybe 3 NSF. I NEVER authorized courtesy pay which means if you do not have available funds they will pay anyway and then charge you a 35.00 NSF fee. I never wanted this feature as I think it gets you into trouble. I have been out of work recently thanks to surgery and am not scheduled to go back for 2 weeks at which time I will have regular checks again. I checked my balance on Friday as I had a deposit. Imagine my surprise when i checked on Monday again and was over 400.00 overdrawn. That made me think someone MUST have my debit card number. When I called I was passed around and put on hold for over 45 minutes. I was told that I had checks totaling 125.00 that were paid even though funds were not available and had 350.00 in return check fees. I was shocked. Why did you pay - you never have before. Well, you have courtesy pay. Who authorized it I ask. They could not tell me and only stated I could work with collections to pay the 350 in NSF. I told her I would cover the 125 in charges but not the 350 as I had no clue they were paying things when funds not available. They never had before. Their attitude was too bad and if your next direct deposit goes in it will go towards the NSF. I responded that it was needed for rent. As I had been a customer for 35 plus years along with my mom could they adjust? They responded I would have to speak with a branch manager who has NEVER contacted me. Today I went to another financial institution, will be opening an account and closing the one at AZ one. What a horrible place. I work so hard to keep on track and have had a hard time recently thanks to health issues. They have put me behind and messed up my credit thanks to their NSF charges and i was NOT aware they were paying with no funds. NOONE told me they added that feature. I rarely give bad reviews, but this one needs to be made especially with their unwillingness to correct a wrong. What happened is scary, because they did things to my loan and my account without my approval or even notifying me. AND to top it off they never once accepted responsibility for their mistake. I lost my job in October and money is tight, so we needed to pay the car payment with a credit card and have our automatic deduction skip a month. I was told to sign a document and return it. Everything seemed fine, but all was not fine. Please note: ASCU was only authorized to take the credit card payment in lieu of the one automatic deduction. This was all they were authorized to do. They not only took my credit card payment, BUT they processed the automatic deduction AS WELL! Obviously this caused me great grief with my Florida checking account that was now upside down. We quickly scrambled to take care of our Florida banking account and contacted ASCU immediately to have the credit card refunded. I didn't think this was an irrational request since they took MY MONEY TWICE. Simply put ASCU refused!!!! THEY SAID THEY DIDN'T RECEIVE THE SIGNED DOCUMENT TO PREVENT THE AUTO PAYMENT AND THAT IT WAS MY FAULT FOR RETURNING THE DOCUMENT VIA THE SAME EXACT "SECURE" EMAIL IT ORIGINALLY ARRIVED FROM. The only instructions in the email were to sign and please return the document. It doesn't say to return it to any other email. NEVER HAVE THEY RECOGNIZED THAT THE CREDIT CARD PAYMENT SHOULD HAVE BEEN RAN ON THE PAYMENT DUE DAY AND NOT FOUR DAYS PRIOR. If they had done as requested this would have never happened. They state they WILL NOT AND CAN NOT REFUND OUR CREDIT CARD PAYMENT BECAUSE OF THEIR THIRD PARTY PROCESSOR - LIKE I CARE! After three days of going back and forth they decided to rework my loan without my approval and deposited money into a static savings account without my approval. They basically did whatever they wanted with my financial documents and accounts AND COMPLETELY DISREGARDED MY SIMPLE REQUEST. In the end I was charged a front end $20 processing fee by my credit card and a back end $10.00 processing fee by ASCU for PROCESSING THE CREDIT CARD PAYMENT!!! No fees have been refunded. SO TO BE VERY CLEAR - WE MADE A CREDIT CARD PAYMENT FOR A CAR LOAN AND THEN ASCU TOOK THE MONEY OUT OF OUR FLORIDA CHECKING ACCOUNT AND IS NOW SENDING US THE MONEY BACK IN A CHECK FORM. AM I THE ONLY ONE HERE THAT RECOGNIZES THE INSANITY HERE??? AND WE LOST $30 IN THIS PROCESS. AREN'T THEY SUPPOSE TO BE FINANCIAL EXPERTS? OH and please note that our credit card company said they can do this and we would avoid the $20 process fee. All they needed to do was refund our card!!!!!! In the many years of business with ASCU I've never needed anything special minus this one time. We needed one favor and they totally blew it and made us pay for their mistake. My husband needs a new company vehicle and we just discussed obtaining a loan through ASCU in the near future, but NOOOO WAY would we ever trust them again. We'll move this loan and be done with them. We don't want or need this type of customer service or professional services. read more

I opened this account with plans to make a car loan in the future. So, about 10 months later, I wanted to refi a auto loan that I got at a high interest rate from the Chevy dealer (was 10%), While my credit score was pretty low (555) they would not give me any loan at any rate, even thou the loan was for half the car's value. I had been paying 4 times the minimum payments on the car each month for the past 10-12 months in order to get out of this high interest loan as soon as possible. I called them and asked why they would not give me a loan because the loan amount was only for half what the car was worth (they appraised it as well). So, if you have bad credit rating, do not go to them for any auto loan! read more

I have been a member for over 10 years. In all that time I have NEVER lost my card and never disputed any charges. Two weeks while at Target shopping for school supplies I must have lost my card. It wasn't until my account was overdrawn that I realized my card was missing and there were two charges (total $42) that I did not make. I reported it immediately and canceled the card and created a fraud report. I went into the branch two days later to get my card and sign the fraud affidavit and just got the letter saying the charges will not be refunded because it was MY FAULT. I guess I should have lied and said the card was stolen. I thought they were required to verify a signature or something to confirm the charge was made by ME. Guess NOT. I am so glad the amount was not thousands of dollars. Very disappointing. I am going to cancel my account with them on MONDAY. :( read more

I've been a member for 8 years. Here's my honest opinion of the pros and cons of banking at AZ State Credit Union: CONS: 1. Funds on large checks are held and not available for 10 business days. (Even if you speak with the manager). 2. Your debit card will be turned off if you travel outside of AZ and try to use it. (Good luck trying to get it turned back on on a holiday weekend). 3. They never have enough money at their branch to give you a large amount of cash for say a large purchase. 4. Open 9-5 mon-fri 5. It is very difficult to refinance your house. I tried twice with a 755 credit score. I gave up after months of paperwork. 6. There are very long wait times. Plan on being late back to work if you go on your lunch break like everyone else. 7. Their savings account will give you 1/2 of 1% interest. 8. Calling the bank doesn't help answer your questions. They will direct you to go in and speak with the branch manager. PROS: None, I am getting my direct deposit transferred asap and going to use my Wells Fargo and Scottrade accounts. 8 years of banking at AZSTCU and finally realized they are terrible. read more

I am closing my account and moving to another institution. I am a tenured customer(almost 20 years), I have a large savings account with them, an excellent credit rating, was never late on my previous car loan and paid it off 2 months early. They advised me they needed to pull my credit to qualify me for a lower interest rate after they verified I have an excellent credit score they told l me that I don't qualify because my loan is under $20,000 (the could/should have done this before making the inquiry and affecting my credit). I appealed to the manager who told me she sent it into underwriting but it was declined again for the loan being to little. I was however told by the original representative that if the dealership gave me a better rate to come back to them and they would try to match it (what????). read more

Applied for a Home Refinance loan. Was supposed to close in 30 days as they stated and as they advertise. It probably would have been done in 30 if the so called Loan Officer knew what she was doing. The sent an appraiser to my house when an appraisal was not needed. She asked for paperwork that was not necessary. Delay after delay. When I spoke to her she said she has too many files. They don't answer their phones when you call because they are too busy. I started a home refinance before my parents and they closed before me. Would not recommend doing a home loan with them. Remember all the trouble Wells Fargo got into for opening up accounts without telling unsuspecting consumers. Seems OneAZ has found a shifty way around this. Say you have an elderly parent (many of us do), who happens to live in Tucson and has banked with (what used to be called Arizona One). Your 95-yr old parent is still at home and has bills to pay. He can not work a computer, so you help by doing online bill paying for him from your (out of state computer). All was working fine. Then apparently OneAZ heard how rich Wells Fargo got. They decided (we are assuming): let's tell the out-of-state relatives if they WANT to help their ELDERLY parents, we will MAKE THEM OPEN UP A 0.03% or so SAVINGS ACCOUNT and if they DO NOT USE IT (why would they, really), we will charge them $7.00/month. Clever, don't you think? Elderly folks are resistant to change, so what choice do you have? Meanwhile, when said elderly parent had scammers getting him to write checks to all kind of phony places, guess what Arizona One said about that? "There's absolutely NOTHING we can do about that." Guess what - AzOne (or whatever you want to be called) - if not for online banking, we would not have found out about these scammers stealing money. And you CLAIM these new policies are FOR SAFETY REASONS? Really? Me thinks not. You can't find a way to notice if a customer born before 1930 has a checking account with 15 checks a month out of the blue?? Please don't pretend you care about elderly. This is nothing more than a scam, which we will apparently go along with. Not much choice, now that we also know a Republican governor decided to appoint an "un-elected" Republican into a Senator's spot. Perhaps some Arizona Newspapers who are not owned by GOP will be interested in this story. Be forewarned others.
