Short walk to casino if if you want a ride, they will pick you up and take you to the door. Be sure to pull into drive right in front of the main hotel building facing south and up near the covered entrance to check in at the hotel desk first. There is plenty of room for big rigs with trailers to get thru. Check in at hotel first for campground spot assignment. There are over 50 sites. NO tents allowed. Each site has picnic table and a fire pit. NO outside firewood allowed and it is over $5 for a small bundle at the gas station on site. Cost weekdays $25 with a $10 play at casino voucher. Weekends about $3 more, holiday weekends $35 for the 2013 season. Rate subject to change. A Spa in hotel, no pool.. Several restaurants.

Thanks for the warning. We still got it wrong. You have to check in at the hotel. Easy enough but we thought the hotel check in was in the hotel. WRONG, go to the casino entrance. The rv park was nice with lots of trees. It's a little strange how they have their hook ups. Not a problem you just have to figure out which direction you need to enter your space. I gave this five stars only because the spaces are a little tight turning into them. We would stay here again.

We reserved a site at Scheffel's Hideaway Campground based on a comment from a camping acquaintance…read morethat the area was beautiful, friendly, and cooler than average. Since we had never been to that part of Wisconsin, we decided to give it a try. We've been full-time RVers for 14 years and can honestly say this is our favorite spot out of at least two or three hundred other campgrounds including everything from boondocking to resorts. The grounds are immaculate, as are the restrooms and two laundry rooms, which are handicapped friendly. The roads, while unpaved are of a fine shell or gravel and hard packed so these are easy to traverse using a walker. There are miles of popular, well-kept walking/bicycle paths nearby going from Point Rawley to the north, past the park and on to Manitowoc to the south. The owners of the park, Tammie and Paul, love the park and are working tirelessly at making it more beautiful every year. There is a lovely pond, lots shrubs and flowers as well as bat houses, bird houses and feeders (we watched goldfinches as we ate dinner several times), whimsical decorations large and small scattered throughout which are changed with the seasons. A number of sites have shade, and most of those without full grown trees have young trees about 15 feet tall or so and will provide more shade every year. Guidelines for the park are clear and reasonable: guests are asked to respect the space and people which is of course, simple common courtesy. All-in-all, this is is our idea of the perfect combination of a natural and well-kept park and friendly people. We are looking forward to our next, longer visit next year. Thank you for a wonderful three months, Tammie and Paul.

Cons: It said bathrooms were close to the Yurts-they were not:only a port-o-potty which is not the same so very misleading. The campground itself could use some updates and TLC. (especially in the bath houses) The store was closed during times it said it would be open. There was no wifi available so phone use is limited. My smoke detector was going off early on the morning for no apparent reason. Someone did come and fix it. This is busy season yet their were no activities or gatherings of any kind or an event calendar like most of their other locations provide. Pro's Staff was friendly and checking in and out was easy. You definitely have enough space between you and your next door neighbor for a little privacy. Dogs are welcomed! Apparently they are NOT welcome if you rent one of their cabins out. But if you can an RV- you're good to bring the fur babes! (There are also dog beaches near by and a lot of pet friendly restaurants in the area! It's just a google away!) As we were taking a walk, we did some exploring. There is a great activity area full of things for kids to do! Swing set, merry go round, soccer nets, tennis court, mini golf, an indoor activity center (that we did not go in but I'm assuming pool tables and things like that?) and a beautiful out door pool! This campground is right next to a state park! As we took the fur babes on our morning walk, we did some exploring. We are neighbors with Potawatomi State Park! We walked down a trail that lead us right to the lake! I wish I brought my phone :( All in all, this place is well maintained. In a great location. It's definitely peaceful. From the looks of it, there are more seasonal camp sites than people that come for a weekend are leave. Night time is quiet (how I like it!). You DO have to pay for WiFi. That isn't included in the site. I believe for our full hook up site (an elite site is what we have) we paid about $200 for 3 nights (Monday-Thursday). I'm excited to explore a little more and see what Door County has to offer! Happy Camping!
