I only saw one review posted and it was negative, so I felt I should give a post after several months dealing with One Main Financial. I filled out an application in the later part of 2016. Went online filled application, was called within 10 mins, spoke to, Bridgette Hernandez she was very helpful, and polite. Had a few credit blemish, which I explained and she understood. I was approved, to my shock. Bridgette was very professional and nice and personal. We had great conversation while waiting for all paperwork. To my shocked I was approved for more than was expected or what was said over the phone. Bridgette got me more money than was stated on the phone and I had a little extra cash in my pocket. Giving me the opportunity to a cash payout deducting the illegal compounded interest & allow me to pay that which was. Like 3,380.oo but seems to never go down after 5 years & 8k into this loan with the 1,300.oo repo taboot. Maybe some fairness, I even purchased the insurance to cover me if a loss of job which one main didn't honor for some decietful tactic you used to not honor your fake insurance. Ladies beware she will seek out male clients and engage in sexual relationships with them knowing they are married. They sent me email after email practically guaranteeing me that I'd get a great loan with terms that would work for me. I was not looking for a loan. Finally I gave in and checked it out. Preapproved! So I apply, which then dings my credit, but I have all the documents turned in and an appointment to sign papers. They call me to make sure I'm coming to the appointment. I'm dressed and ready to go, when I get another call..."we're not going forward with this loan". No explanation. A small loan, 4K, which I was willing to pay their high interest on and use my car as collateral. I've never missed a payment on a credit card or car loan. So these a-holes repeatedly ask me to apply for a loan, ding my credit when I do, and then mysteriously deny me the loan. To hell with these stupid fools. Predatory lenders! read more

Was pre-approved through credit karma for 15k consolidation loan at a predatorial rate of 35%, but I wanted to use the funds to streamline my credit cards and build my FICO score up and then pay it off early. First off the loan processor rude over the phone and said they wanted to use my car as collateral at 35% interest when I am only paying 2% currently then they deny the loan after submitting all these documents and dinging my credit. I would never recommend these horrible predators to anyone. read more

My wife has a current loan with One Main Financial. She wanted to pay off some of her credit cards and received notification that she was eligible to apply. She submitted her all documents. She had appointment in the Elk Grove office everything was going fine and they said oh it looks like there was fraud on your bank account which was charges made on her bank card that were not hers. They asked her to bring in her SSN card to confirm her identity remember she already has an existing account. When she finally got a letter from SSA office she submitted the letter. No phone call after that she just happen to look on her account on website and it said loan denied. Is this how they treat their current customers no communication no explanation making her wait for days, she had to call them to keep inquiring on the status of her loan. Very unprofessional and she has had multiple loans with them so why now does she receive terrible customer service. Very disappointed customer read more

They have a friendly staff, together they offer a friendly efficient service. July 2017 update: My account was paid I full in the amount of $10.79 as of July 2017. Over the last three years, I've been a loyal customer who's paid my dues to you. You automatically withdraw $75 from my bank each month to avoid late payments. As of July my account was paid in full. There was no reason for you to steal $75 from my account when I only owe you $10.79. Your office is fucked up. Now send me my refund and do your stupid job the right way and stop the automatic withdraws idiots! I'd give this crappy place a 0 star if I could. As a single mother, loyal and good client to OneMain Financial for over three years, I have paid my monthly payment on time via automated payment. I have never been late on my payment. Recently, my mother became ill and I needed to pay her back for a loan she gave me in the amount of $1500. I called OneMain financial and spoke with Sara Taylor, the branch manager. While on the phone with her, she pulled up my file and took some information that I had on hand: my VIN# and my hourly wage. She had asked for my net income, but I was unable to give her that information so I gave her my hourly wage instead. I also told her I get child support for my daughter which she responded that she'll leave this information out and see what I would qualify for without the child support. She took my information, ran my credit and called me back a couple hours later and said that I was approved for $1600 after paying off some of my current credit card bills. I was overly excited and happy that I would be able to help my ill mother without. When I got to the office with my toddler, Susana (branch account manager) told me that they made a mistake and I was short $600 after they input my Paystub into the system. I told her I felt lied to, taken advantage of because they ran my credit and told me I was approved for a little over the amount I needed for my mom. Susana went and got Sara to speak with me and this is what really got me sick to my stomach!!!! Sara walked into the office and apologized for the miscommunication because the "net income [she] entered into the system [while on the phone with me] was different from what was on the Paystub." I asked her how she got the net income over the phone with me because I never gave her my net income, I gave her my hourly wage. Sara looked me dead in the eyes and lied straight to my face that I gave her that information. Sara, you are the most disgusting, lowest type of human for you to be able to look a single/struggling mother in the eyes and straight up lie. I bet you didn't think I was big enough to call you on your lies and look you back in the eyes and tell you that you are sick and you're a lair! I hope you can sleep at night for falsifying my net income (and not reporting my child support information that I gave you) when running my information and then having the audacity to look me in the eyes and lie straight to my face. Terrible! Never get a loan from One Main!! I was quoted one APR and given a higher one once I got into the office. Opened my account in the Elk Grove office and my account was switched to West Sac without them telling me. Didn't know until I called to see about a one time courtesy payment skip for a month. The girl I talked to said "Oh lets see about refinancing and lowering payment." Since the have all my info, did not think there would be a hard pull and she did not inform me there would be. But yep hard pull!! AND apparently, unlike other companies who give you a courtesy skip payment once a year, they charge you almost the same cost of the payment to skip it!!! read more

The worst business practices!! I have never used the race card but I fell victim to it at the hands of the branch manager Sara Taylor. So I apply online and receive approval after submitting all of my documents. I get directed to this branch to complete the paperwork (simple right) but when I go in, i get the run around. Sara Taylor says i need to drive all the way back to work to get my original stub (shes alleging my stub isnt real). I go to my job and retrieve it. I come back and in told the processing department is closed and that the paperwork would be ready tomorrow (today). Mind you, i was referred by a female friend (white) and she didn't have to do any of this. Mind you, we both work for the same company. So today I'm told my employment couldnt be verified yet ive been at the company for 12 years. I request the number she calla to confirm and she changes tune. Asks can i bring W2's and my work badge. Well if you have, I hope your experience turned out a lot better than what mine did today. I got the name of this business from credit karma. They were recommended as a financial institution that had a good rating with helping out those wanting to apply for different types of loans, consolidation loans being one. You go through the formalities of completing the application you push the magic button and hallelujah you get a congratulatory you were, there's a word they used and I can't remember what it is but basically they approve for an amount less than what you asked for and then they call and ask you more questions that aren't on your app. Then comes the let down. This is period where they let you know that basically you just wasted your time because you were never going to get the help you originally set out to get from them. They are just another pay-day loan place, not even a financial institution, that targets those in desperate financial situations looking for help when they cannot go to any real financial institution such as a bank or credit union. They interest is phenomenally, outrageous. There really should be a law against such places, but as of right now there arent best suggestion is to try and stay clear of this place and any such business, they make money of people in need.
