I used to have AAA for several years I changed plans because they will literally add people to your policy without your permission if you share an address. Even if the other person is just a roommate that has there own car and there own insurance they added the person than insisted we pay for it. The lady pulled me out of line and rudely asked me what service I needed I explained my situation she then kicked me out of line and refused to help me insinuating i needed to go online or a kiosk to do the service. Well, my dmv account is locked out due to an IT error they can't unlock it. So this or by mail is my only choice. I had the money to pay for the service, the information and everything. She refused to help. The situation was very confusing and frustrating. Because of this place I had to illegally park my car downtown every single day for 4 months until the dmv fulfilled the request by mail. What a nightmare!!! read more

Good customer service and quick agent interaction as needed when I went in for wither DMV services or insurance updates.

I first want to state that I have been a AAA member since 1979 having both multiple autos, home and now RV insurance through AAA. I usually get good service but this time, it has been far from adequate. First of all, none of your employees are trained on the optional coverages (Through Progressive Insurance) for RV's that are on your website. I had to speak to multiple people (six) before I got the response, "you need to come into the Laguna Branch and speak to an underwriter". Ok fine, I did that. I came in and the first person (An agent) I was connected with had no clue to what I was talking about. I had her pull up the main AAA website for her to take a look. She still had absolutely no clue that you even had that page on your website. After waiting nearly one half hour, I finally got sat with Mr. Verma. I will say he was very helpful at first. Long story short, he did help me with getting the optional coverages. He was supposed to amend the coverage from AAA and get back to me later that afternoon. He did not. A few days later, I sent him an e-mail and he never responded. I checked my policy and the coverages that were supposed to be cancelled are still there and I am being billed for them. You got a one-star review for this terrible customer service. 4/14/ 26. Update. Still waiting for someone, anyone to contact me from AAA. Got an e-mail from a senior member relations specialist on Friday the 10th and immediately responded by asking him to call me and as of 3:00 pm on the 14th no e-mail or phone call. I came in to this location to get an International Driver's Permit. It was a fairly efficient process, filling out the form, and getting passport photos done for the license. I was in and out in about fifteen minutes. My gripe, however, is with the person who helped me. She was visibly sick, red-nosed, and sniffling. As she was processing my paperwork and handling my driver's license, she coughed into her hands and resumed touching all my things. I understand that it's rough out there these days and if you don't work, you don't get paid. But at least wear a mask? Cough into your elbow? Use some hand sanitizer? Maybe don't get your customers sick???? It was absolutely disgusting, and there were no hand sanitizer stations anywhere in the waiting areas. I'll mail my form in next time. read more

Follow up on review : I spoke with the Assistant manager, The Manager and a person from the corporate office . Both the manager and assistant manager talked down to me telling me " that's not how insurance works . I told them both raising our rates to almost 600.00 a month and saying that's the best we can do and I don't understand insurance was a bad idea. I more than understand how insurance works that's why we now have all our policies thru State Farm for better coverage and for half the price . After being with AAA for over 30 years and being treated with such disrespect by these small minded people we will never purchase home/ auto or any other kind of insurance off them ever again . This is hard to believe but I had such a good experience. I'm almost glad my truck broke down in El Dorado Hills, CA.    Nick H (aka Nicolas the ridiculous) called me immediately and told me when he was coming. He was so kind, professional, and thoughtful-took wonderful care of my truck and me.  I didn't have a ride home and was planning on hiring an Uber, but he said that sometimes AAA covers that too !   So he talked with his management and they instructed him to take me home which was more than 10 miles away from where my truck was left for service. Wow, I am blown away and didn't know that that was even possible... thank you AAA for going above and beyond the call of duty, and making a difficult night actually enjoyable. Thank you all for your kindness expertise, and giving such incredible service.  I don't have words to describe how grateful I am and how much I will recommend AAA to all my family and friends. This company's employees have been so rude and unprofessional on the phone to me. I bought my father a AAA roadside membership in 2024. His car broke down and we got rid of it, leaving him carless. I called them to add myself on to the membership since I drive, and didn't want that money to be totally wasted. That was only around $6 to add me. I told them I didn't want to auto renew the following year since I already have coverage from my GEICO insurance. They auto renewed it last month and charged me $109. I called this branch, and the lady was rude and unhelpful. They wouldn't talk to me because they said it was my father's account (even though they charged my card and took MY money and MY name was added to the membership.) I asked for the manager. He was just as rude and unhelpful. I had to have my mentally ill, disabled father call the branch to handle the matter for me, so I could get my money back. I got the refund, but on my bank app it still shows an anticipated reoccurring charge to AAA in 2026, so I call today to ask if they have a form of payment on file and make it CLEAR i do not want AAA to charge me for anything again. The first employee I tell "I don't want the insurance" she comes back with "it's roadside" in a smart tone. Lady I think you know what I'm talking about and correcting a frustrated customer in a snotty tone is unprofessional and unhelpful. I would never deal with or do business with AAA again after this experience. read more

I have been AAA customer for almost 15 years and I really like AAA. However, the Insurance Agent named Trang Fowler at this branch (or maybe the entire branch) is really one rotten apple spoils the barrel. She only answered when we first needed to open an auto policy, so she could meet her quota and earn commission bonus. After that, when we got issue or got into an accident, we called and texted her for assistance but she returned no response and ignored us. It is extremely unprofessional and such a shame of insurance company for not helping a customer who paid thousands of dollars annually. How could we trust you and put out liability in your hand? (We are Vietnamese and we don't know much about auto insurance nor good at English, so we thought we should reach out to Trang, since she knows Vietnamese, so she could provide some assistance or valuable guidance, but no, she returned no help) Also, after talking to several family members, we figured she lured us to buy unnecessary memberships and insurance coverage. For example, the auto policy is for two cars of a husband and a wife. One membership is good enough for the family. However, at that time, Trang insisted we must have a membership for each wife and husband. This is very misleading. Also, we don't know much about insurance, and Trang advised to put $50 deductible for comprehensive coverage, which drove the premium really high. Who the heck could advised the unknowledgeable customer to out $50 deductible for comprehensive coverage to drive up premium cost? may be just the one who wants better bonus? right? to be honest, how often does your windshield get shattered by a rock or you badly damage your car by hitting a pole, and you need to use comprehensive coverage? Somebody forgot to pay the registration on our car on time!! So being that are AAA members we went to our local office & were able to pay the late fees & get our tags. So convenient not having to make an appointment to do so, to not have to deal with going to DMV or wait for tags in the mail. Tammy helped us and she was great. Very friendly & on my side!! Solicited AAA on their website for a quote on homeowners insurance. They have a fairly simple quoting system. I fed my personal and home info in & it spits out a recommendation on replacement value & other coverages that it allows you to tweak to some degree. Then it gives you a yearly premium. The premium was competitive even when factoring in the yearly AAA $65 membership required to buy the insurance. All sounds great, right? Well, that wasn't the case. Their online quoting system is not accurate & imo downright dishonest. One of the questions asked of me during the online quote was whether I wanted to bundle my homeowners insurance with auto insurance for a further discount. I specifically answered no on that question because AAA auto insurance is ridiculously overpriced. It's double what I currently pay. Well here's where it's dishonest. When it gives you the yearly premium on the online quote, it includes the bundled home/auto discount even though you specifically tell the system NO, you do not want to bundle auto insurance. Once you get your quote you call into AAA & talk to an agent to purchase. They go over your quote & give you a yearly premium that was, in my case, almost $400 a year higher than the online quote. When asked why the difference, the agent tells me it's because the online system automatically give the bundled quote price no matter what you select. It's completely dishonest & pretty much a bait & switch tactic. I definitely won't do business with a company like this. read more

I'm not a AAA member. However my husband and I had seen we could get an international driving permit from AAA. I called ahead to ask if non-members were eligible for this. The lady on the phone was helpful and said yes. I asked her what documentation we needed to bring and she said a valid DL and 2 passport pictures. At first I was thinking, is this truly necessary? b/c I had 1 picture leftover from other stuff I'd done. But they need 2 identical pictures. I later found out why: One is attached to the application, and the other picture goes inside the permit booklet. I asked if we'd be able to walk-out with the permit today, and she said yes. This was also on a Saturday which took us here because the other AAA branches we searched for were only M-F. Bonnie was helpful and friendly. We were helped right away - filled out an application and she got to work. She did let us know that this permit was not recognized in Brazil and Uruguay - they use another type of permit. She also said that she has folks coming in all the way from the Bay Area just to get this permit done. Bonnie took us to the front to pay. I noticed other folks doing their DMV stuff - which seemed very convenient to do all of that here. I highly recommend coming here for your permit! read more

I HATE this location. The service is horrid. I came in to get my registration sticker, not knowing I had to do the smog test first. So I paid for the registration and left to do the smog test. I figured since everything was payed for already, my husband would go pick up the actual sticker, since I started not feeling well. But Nope, they wouldn't release a sticker to him, even with all the paperwork, and me on the phone. EVEN WORSE, they kept the paperwork that showed it was paid and when my husband asked for MY paperwork back, they refused saying they already attached the sticker to it. Smh. read more

I needed to register my vehicle. This year, I hadn't received the renewal notice in the mail. It was almost the end of the month when I realized that my registration was due for renewal. I brought in an old renewal notice from a past year, thinking that they could get the VIN number off of it. It turned out that not only was it not a problem, but if I signed a statement about not receiving the notice, they could waive the late fee (yes, I was actually 4 days late to renew.) The CSA agent helping me today was kind, helpful, and patient. Each time I go the customer service is top notch! Honestly, from the moment you walk in to the walking up to the service desk is great. Was there a few days ago to renew my registration and felt SO RELIEVED I did not have to go to the DMV to do it. I was in and out in 10mins! Also, I had a flat tire maybe a few weeks ago, the service agent was awesome and was able to get someone out to me faster than my quoted time. Seriously the AAA membership is worth it!!! read more

It should be negative 5. I just went to the AAA Elk Grove-Laguna Branch and planned to do a DMV transaction. I was treated very badly by a woman named Tammy, who was rude and unprofessional. I asked her for more information; even though I was the only customer, she did not want to help. She threw the papers at me, and said I answered 5 times. Then, she turned around and talked to another co-worker. When I said, ma'am why are you so rude, I did not ask 5 times with the same question. she answered rudely, "So it is 4 and a half time." Then, she turned away and talked to the co-worker. I have been with AAA for more than 30 years. I am very disappointed with the customer service and the employee's attitude. This is a lengthy one: My experience with AAA insurance company has left me unsettled. They are by far one of the WORST insurance companies available in California. When my car was hit by an UNLICENSED teenage driver, I sent video footage as proof that I DID NOT CAUSE the damage that was done to my car. After TWO Days (not even a week), they determined that my car was a "Total Loss". My car was still drivable - NOT a total loss. All I wanted was for my car to get fixed. I did not care about the money - I didn't want money! I wanted my car fixed, which is why we were paying hundreds of dollars for FULL COVERAGE in the first place. I spoke with FOUR different AAA 'Specialist' and every single one of them told me something different. NONE of them had communicated with each other. They gave me the run around the first week. By the 2nd week, Susan Golden (auto field specialist) sent me e-mails with TWO different options. When I responded with my choice, Susan Golden (very rudely) told me, "that option isn't available to you, I shouldn't have sent you that option". I was appalled! It made absolutely NO SENSE for them to send me those options, if it wasn't available to me. I lost ALL CONFIDENCE in AAA as my insurance company. They were UNHELPFUL and have the WORST Customer Service ever! Susan Golden, Paul Norat, Tracy Miller AND Shenea Wilkins are terrible representatives for this company! They did nothing but, try to take my car from me. So, beware of how awful this insurance is! They more than likely WON'T do anything to help you, even if you have VIDEO PROOF AND, have a Police Report! I will NEVER RECOMMEND this insurance to anyone! I give them a '-10/10'. read more

Scott has been my agent for years now and I never had a problem. He is readily available to be contacted even via email to process some changes on my account insurance and membership. He is willing to work with you and give you good bundle deals. I Haven't tried calling them for a tow or processing claims so I can't make a comment on that. But nevertheless, even when they say they are on the pricier side I don't mind as long as I don't have to deal with issues or any bad customer service which so far didn't have any. I usually see a long line so make sure you stop by early. I believe they also do DMV services. read more

I saw on their site that AAA provided a discount for three days one park per person for Disney Land. When I went to the branch, the lady told me that they had only two day passes for one park. I thought that I would be able to get one day for one park separately from Disneyland and get the two day one park from AAA. I was planning to buy three adult tickets. When I came home, I found out that those one day tickets were $40 more per person for one day on the week I was planning to go, so instead of originally paying $990 for Disney land tickets on the Disney Land website, I ended up paying $1200. That was not AAA fault that the tickets ended up being that much due to the event that was happening at Disney on that week. However, when I went to the AAA site, they did claim they have a three day one park pass and if they knew that at the counter, I would not be paying the extra $300 for a "$15 dollar discount". I would have just paid the $990 tickets from the actual Disney Land site without using AAA. It was a complete joke with their non refundable and non exchangeable policy. read more

AAA is the biggest joke ever!!! It's a waste of money and I am going to be canceling my account!!! I have been stranded 3 consecutive times now after hours and they never responded. They obviously don't care about their clients. They don't even let you know!! You are stranded out in the middle of no where for hours before they finally let you know no one is responding. This is unacceptable for a service that you actually have to pay for! It used to be a great service but not too much anymore. Unfortunately it's not the same anymore. I had to leave my truck stranded and walk home at 2:00am. I am an adult and able to manage for myself but I wouldn't be comfortable putting my wife, teen, senior or anyone else behind the wheel and depending on this lousy service!!! *Update The driver Justin did not know how to put my truck into neutral to be able to get it on his flatbed. Park by Citibank (shared lot with Club Pilates, former Corner Bakery soon to be Blaze Pizza) and walk around to the main entrance facing Laguna. Came in to transfer a vehicle title/registration to another family member as well as pay for the registration renewal upcoming for 2019. The greeter provided me with the Statement of Facts form I needed. Having ID and membership card should make things go faster. Once at the front of the line (middle counter), turns out I needed to still fill out another document before we could proceed so I got a clipboard and was told to let the front know I was done with paperwork and didn't have to get back in line. Another lady (rightmost counter) said I needed the transferee present so I had to wait again. Anyway, third time's a charm. At the leftmost counter, the lady mistyped/misspelled the new owner's first name but it was corrected. Was able to complete both the transfer and pay for the January registration. Walked out with a new sticker and the new title will come in the mail. Still took about 45-60 minutes and the line was long the entire time. Some people in line for insurance payments, travel packages, or DMV service. I noticed some people were called personally out of line to be sat down and helped at an actual desk rather than the counters. Pretty painless. They also have travel maps/guides for free in vending machine format accessible with your member card near the entrance. read more

Explained my situation, showed my current registration, was told it was mailed 3 months ago (I never received it). Paid my registration fees, got my sticker and was out in probably 15 to 20 minutes. Anyway, I find the Team Members pleasant, professional and always helpful, even during these pandemic times. Because of the positive experience there, AAA is my first choice before going to DMV. I've had my membership at this AAA location for maybe 15 years. I have been a member for almost 30 years overall. They have my insurance and they are also our travel agents. In addition I do all my DMV work here. The employees are all friendly and know their jobs. As I make my payments in person monthly some of the employees know me by name. Their insurance is more costly than the cheapo companies, but when you have a claim there are no surprises or bad news. read more
