It was great coffee, wait was a little long though. The guy at the counter was nice and appeared to be the only employee/owner on site. The food smelled delicious and the menu sounded cool, but I wasn't here for food in this visit. The inside was actually pretty big and nicely decorated in a quaint holidayish type way I guess. it was cozy or at least that's what the vibe was going for, not sure if they accomplished it tbh. Really enjoyed the afternoon tea here! If you have kids you'll love the indoor play area they have here, lots of things to play with while enjoying a meal. There were some flies in the restaurant while we were there, so I docked a star for that. We were greeted right away and one of the workers checked on us too. This place is so cute and adorable I love the atmosphere just a cozy place to be with friends and enjoy tea, coffee and food. My fiancé ordered a coffee it was so good and usually he is very particular with his coffee, he was definitely pleased with the coffee and delicious cinnamon roll we shared, it tasted like it was freshly baked and homemade. My tea had delicious flavor and the cream added to the tea was delicious. I usually don't like hot tea but this was perfect. I loved the activities you could do such as color and play games. My only complaint is I wish they had better hours to be open. read more

I am very conflicted writing this review because long story short, the food and tea is fantastic but the service is some of the worst service I have ever experienced. This is the second time we have given this place a chance and both times they have failed miserably in the service department. The first time we had an issue, we ordered online for curbside pickup and when we arrived, the store was closed and we waited at least five minutes before the man came outside and said "sorry forgot to turn online ordering off, I will refund you." Keep in mind, this was during normal operating hours so they should have been open regardless. So we took a whole trip across town for nothing, and had to wait 3 days before our money was refunded. This did not stop us from trying again in person, and we did see on social media that they admitted to having a service problem but said that they hired help and everything should be good and on track now....or so we thought. We called ahead over the phone to order so we could make sure they were actually open this time. The man said it would be about 20 minutes because they were waiting on some bakery items to be done. Not a problem for us. We got there about 25-30 minutes after placing our order and was informed that he had to run to the store to pickup a cucumber for our order. He literally left and had his daughter watching the store while we sat there waiting. After all of this, it took about an hour for us to get 2 tea boxes and there was only one other customer in the store that we could see. When the man came back from the store we did not hear any hand or cucumber washing taking place as we sat there. That was also bothersome, but we can't prove otherwise because we couldn't see anything. Once we were able to dig into the food, that's where the experience changed. I now see why the cinnamon rolls get so much hype. It was delicious. The tea sandwiches were also not far behind in how great they were. The birthday cake tea was great as well. The atmosphere really wasn't our vibe either. If you are a mom with kids and don't mind awful service, this is probably the perfect place for you. It was loud with screaming children and the decor reminded me of my childhood in the 90s. I wish the owners could get it together when it comes to service because I would frequent this place often due to the awesome food. Having 2 terrible experiences with the service was enough that I don't want to go back. read more

Ok so I have to apologize that I don't quite remember the names of everything we enjoyed, and I wish I got photos of it all. But my GOODNESS. This was by far the best full tea service I've ever experienced. I love One Room for so many reasons, but this was just exceptional. We got so many different sandwiches and desserts- each better than the last! It was just the two (owners I presume) serving our party of 10 and we loved every bit of it. So fresh and delicious! The scones with lemon curd and clotted cream were my favorite. Also be sure to ask for a pot of their "birthday cake" flavored hot tea. Incredible! I can't wait to do this again very soon. This restaurant is... OK at best. The food is not very good, and the service (for lack of a better word) sucks. The food usually takes a really long time, and the staff aren't very nice. My main complaint are the hours. On days that they are open, and the time at which they are open, the doors are closed, locked, and no one is inside. The whole restaurant has a weird vibe. read more

This place is one that my child just loves to come to. She enjoys the play area and the food. I love trying the different teas while I am here. The employees always provide good recommendations and the taste of the food is fresh and so yummy! If you are looking for a quiet place this may not be the spot for you but if you have kids and are looking for a cute play date area this is good. Or a place to meet up with friends this is also a good choice. This place could use a deep clean and order do take time but the taste of the food is always fresh and on point. The drinks are so good and scene is comfortable. Plus there's not too many places that offer a clean area and these amenities to change your baby. I tried One Room Coffee and Escapes this week. Very welcoming vibe. As a mother, I loved the kids activity rooms. All are age appropriate. Even the restroom was completely stocked with all the necessities. The tea room offered a clean calming atmosphere. I had the full afternoon tea. So delicious. I'm so happy I found this little cafe! It's an owner operated spot and they are so friendly and helpful! As a mom of two toddlers and friends with toddlers, this place is heaven. (They even have diapers available in the bathroom) One side of the cafe is a traditional cafe setting. Cute little tables and chairs, adults enjoying coffee, baked goods, and sandwiches. Then on the OTHER side, is a playroom set up for those with young kids. I'm talking a two story wood playhouse, play kitchen, dollhouse, train table, dinosaurs, legos, and a air hockey table. Plus tables and chairs for both adults and kids to enjoy their food items. The food and coffee prices are extremely reasonable/affordable. We got a couple coffees plus some chocolate chip cookies (DELICIOUS) and the grilled ham and Swiss sandwiches. We both really liked our sandwiches. The coffee was good. We love this place! The kids area is fabulous for us parents and the food is outstanding. Yes, it can take a while, but that is because they make everything in house and it's delicious. I love the specials and that you never know what new drink specials they might have come up with. The tearoom is great for non kids outings and separate enough from the playroom that the two don't interfere with each other. The bacon, avocado turkey sandwich is my current obsession and the kiddos love it too. Last time, I had to order 2 because my kids all wanted some. Keep up the great work. I want so much to love this place or even like it, but I have tried on multiple occasions to enjoy it and it's just not happening. My favorite thing in the world is a 'proper English tea', with scones, clotted cream, lemon curd and a nice pot of tea, however each time I have gone, the employees have been rude or just seem completely uninterested in helping me. It's like pulling teeth when I try to order or ask questions about things on their menu. Several times I have tried calling and they just hang up on me. Or I have driven to the store and the sign says open and the door is locked. I have even gone up to the door and it is locked, walked back to my car and had an employee walk up to the door and unlock it while I was getting back in my car and said employee didn't say a word to me. Not even so much as a, "So sorry the door was locked, how can I help you?" Do they not want customers? I love nothing more than to help out small businesses and to spread the word around to help them out rather than go to large, corporate, money-hungry companies who could care less about their customers, but I guess that is what this place wants, seeing as how they can't be bothered to try to get me back into their business. I have decided to give up on this particular business and move on to try and find another place. I've been coming here since they opened several years ago. When they first opened service was understandably slow but the drinks and food offerings were always worth the wait. My family and I came here two years ago for their Mother's Day tea and it was so nice and well put together. Unfortunately, my most recent experience has made me question my continued support. We came in for the restraint week special at 10:15. They were busy but there was an open table available for 4 people. We were not greeted when we walked in but one of the owners all but knocked me over while I was standing and reviewing their drink menu. No excuse me, no sorry just came barreling towards me. We finally get up to the register to order and we find out they are out of the restaurant week special. You'd think that they would have planned ahead for this considering they made it one of their specials and it was only 10am. The kid promptly walked away after telling us this and didn't even try to sell us on anything else or ask us if we still wanted to order. I know running a small family business can be incredibly difficult but after all these years they still just don't seem to have it down and attitude is everything. It's not a good look to have the owners looking incredibly annoyed that their are customers coming in. We were not greeted. They did not have decaf coffee and someone with me required that for health reasons, a seemingly annoyed man who appeared to be in charge suggested a decaf americano which was a dollar more...after a long delay and realizing my guest wasn't going to go for it he offered the americano at drip coffee price. I declined. They didn't give me a number or ask for my name or pour the drip coffee right after I paid (very disorganized and overwhelmed) so I went to the children's area where my kids were. I waited and waited, made a comment like how do I know when my coffee is ready and all the adults in the room who seemed very "cliquey" kind of ignored me then one nosey little girl chimes in "they always take a while"...5-6 minutes later the only friendly employee (a young Hispanic female) personally brought me my coffee which I liked. She was the only once with any sense of customer service. I felt like I was an unwanted guest overall. In the children's area I noticed a few hazards right away. Toddlers playing around multiple choking hazards. Most other adults were busy socializing and didn't watch their kids who were not very well behaved. They seemed unsocialized, and I know this shop is an extension of our local homeschool group...that may explain things a bit. One woman may have been in early labor. It wasn't a welcoming environment. So we checked out the "adult side"...things were better over there so to speak, only really one guest on that side that was standoffish. As I was leaving I needed to throw a few things away and a pre teen looking girl (more than likely under 15) was gathering trash and pulled it out right as I walked up so I waited. It appeared the owners were working their own children. They seemed stressed. The one star is for the only working age barista. It wasn't very clean and when I had a spill to clean up I was handed an extremely dingey rag instead of napkins. Low budget. Bad service. Very very disappointed. read more
