SO MUCH FUN! We actually have now completed and escaped all three rooms! The staff is fun and there's a great discount for locals. Thanks friends!

Super fun! We chose the hardest room (the circus one) and it was actually quite challenging! I've been to many escape rooms and I found these puzzles to be really unique! There was also a lot to do. We did ask for some hints and overall, we had a great experience!

Need a little fun and challenging adventure? Try an Escape Room. Although I have attempted other escape rooms this is the first time we as a collaborative group successfully completed the task. Located right off Hwy 246 In the City of Solvang, this quaint escape room is the perfect for large and small groups alike. At the moment there are two separate rooms to pick from Gold Mine and a Christmas theme. The cost is a little pricey$39.00 pp and $25.00 sor seniors On this day we chose the Gold Mine room which was decorated with thematic features,

A fun way to spend an hour on our weekend in Solvang. We did the Christmas themed one which my wife was pretty stoked on.

Booking via the website was easy and seamless as well as filling out the waivers. The check-in area is beautiful and everyone we encountered was friendly and welcoming. Adrian was our guide who told us how to put on the harness and handle all the rigging. This was our first time doing any sort of ropes course like this but the tech involved seems fail safe and so user friendly. We definitely got a workout in and can see the need for the height requirement! We will definitely be feeling the work we put in doing the course! The guides were great, especially "Krissane"(sp) who was so encouraging and positive as she checked on us throughout the course. We were able to do both sides of the lower part of the course within the two hour booking. We opted not to do the upper course and will save it for our next visit. They offer water at the course and have tables and shade for those who are just watching. We are looking forward to returning to try out the zip lining. Some notes: Bathroom is located at base camp and the facilities are modern and clean. Gloves should be used and they offer them for $10 at base camp but we brought our own and I don't think it would be comfortable to do the course without them. They also offer camera rentals for $20 I believe. Wear pants or long shorts as the harness needs to be snug and it could be uncomfortable with shorter shorts. They have small storage behind the counter at base camp for your phones, keys, and other belongings.

I went on the website, easy to navigate, reserve a spot and pay. About an hour drive from downtown Santa Barbara...not bad. We did go on a Thursday at 11:00 AM. Plenty of parking and only 6 in our group. The "Base Camp" main office is very nice, new, clean bathrooms, easy check-in with small storage box to hold a small purse with keys wallets and such. Joey and Jaun were our guides, they were fantastic, super friendly very courteous, made sure we were safe. Basically the Zipline adventure consist of a jeep ride to the first Zipline where you get geared up and are given safety instructions. The zips are 2 side by side lines, which was fun to race with my friend. First zip is the longest, Second is medium and third is the fastess down to base camp. My only wish is that hey had more than 3 ziplines. My only helpful hints would be is to wear sunscreen (in our case I wore leggings and a light long sleeve shirt), more comfortable, PLUS if you wear shorts or sleeveless shirt of any kind, put bug spray on. When you were stationary there were these annoying flys. It was deffinitely worth it and fun as hell. I would go again when I go back to Santa Barbara. If you plan ahead leave time to go to Solvang for lunch... fun area too. Zipline: very safe and so much fun. Service: excellent.

Grimm's Bluff is stunning with so many fantastic sites to paint. Art Spot chose their private lake with the mountains and a bit of Cachuma Lake (Cristi joked about it being a unique painting in the vineyard experience to not actually paint vines!). Stunning scene. But before we proceeded to our painting location, we enjoyed sampling a bit of rose and estate sage honey and olive oil, with a little primer about Grimm's Bluff. I had persuaded a friend to join and had told her that I had done a watercolor class at Kaena, where the scene was penciled in and we were instructed on how to mix paints and water and layer in the paint, but it was easy and fun - almost like a paint by numbers with a good glass of wine. So when we got to our painting spot, I was surprised and somewhat intimidated to see completely blank canvases on easels with a few globs of acrylic paint! But Cristi is a great instructor and leader, and made the experience so fun and comfortable (the liquid courage from Grimm's Bluff didn't hurt, either). She gave us detailed tips on color mixing, which brushes to use, and how to just jump in and start. She had an easel up front and led the way, showing us on her canvas what to do. It was a blast and each one of us produced surprisingly passable if not beautiful little canvases - each unique in its own way. I highly recommend Art Spot. I have zero training or natural ability but with Cristi's guidance, now have two cute little paintings (including my Kaena watercolor). There is no reason to be fearful or intimidated- Cristi makes it so anyone can pick up a brush and release their secret inner artist. It is a lovely activity to do with friends on a gorgeous SYV day.
