    Hawaiian BBQ Mix
    Willy T.

I think this is a pretty solid spot. I came here on a Friday night a week or two after they first opened and it was packed. People having trouble ordering caused a bit of a backup. I ordered a Hawaiian BBQ mix. The food came in just around 10 minutes. They have pumps for teriyaki and katsu suace. Napkins are given with the trays so if you are eating in you can't clean the table you claim until your food arrives. The meat itself was very tender. I like the mac salad a ton and wish that portion was bigger. The veggies in this order is mostly cabbage and a few pieces of broccoli. They don't overload on the rice which I appreciate.

Nice Design. Hawaiian barbecue goodness. The environment was nice and the establishment was nice and tidy.

What a classic experience. I haven't been here in a long time and both the food and service remain consistent throughout all of their branches. They answer your questions, tell you about the different items. When asked they go into detail and help you customize your plate for your liking. If you have a good appetite and ready to chow down, this is definitely some good comfort food. This branch had some different design elements that I haven't seen in other places before. Most of us know what the food looks like so I thought I would throw that picture up here just for some fun.

Let me start by saying I enjoy Ono Hawaiian BBQ and their food. I have them in Los Angeles all the time so when I saw they opened one in my hometown of Lancaster I was very happy. Although, the two times I've been here they've shown an incompetence in management. The team here does not care about service and they all have attitudes. I'm one to always be compassionate and considerate even during long wait times anywhere, I'll never rush the service teams but this place has an attitude stemming from management. The first time I tried this Ono in Lancaster I asked the lady if I could have a minute to look at the menu. She gave me an "uhh" then when I said hello she didn't answer. I thought maybe she didn't hear me so I said I was ready. Nope, nothing. Then I even pulled out of the drive thru thinking it was the sensor that didn't detect I was there anymore like some drive thrus have. I pulled out and went to the left lane. Nothing. No response. Another car pulled up and they answered immediately. So I pulled up to the window and she looked annoyed and gave me an attitude. She said they don't take orders through the window but she told me while giving another "uhhh." This time today, the manager took our order. Worst attitude ever! I even asked how she's doing and she gave an attitude and asked me to pay. I figured she's having a bad day and I understood. She messed up my entire order. Gave me someone else's order entirely. I didn't realize until I got to the other side of the city! Almost 20 minutes away. I came back in and she gave her coworker a look like she knew what I was about to say. She gave me attitude and asked what I wanted. I told her she messed up my order and she immediately knew which one. She grabbed the bag from the back which had our correct order and she refunded my card then said she had to charge me for the correct food. I asked for a discount or anything since she made me drive back across the city. Without hesitation she said no and asked me to tap my card. I gave up, she was just disgusting. My brother was hungry so we just let it be. We noticed the food was cold and asked if they could heat it up. She said no but they could remake it then said it would take 30 minutes because it's backed up. She just kept making it difficult with the attitude. I'm always nice to any service team but the manager here is unprofessional, inconsiderate, and loves to waste people's time. Maybe she gets a thrill out of it, who knows at this point. Food was cold but good.

Who could go wrong with Hawaiian BBQ! I had to stop by the other day because I was craving it! The bbq mix is my all time favorite when eating at any Hawaiian bbq spot and this place definitely did not disappoint! The meat was very flavorful and juicy and the rice and macaroni salad was fire Of course I had to get some spam musubi as well! Delicious! I also order a plate of chicken katsu, because why not?!? Everything was great! This is going to be my new Hawaiian bbq spot for sure!

The beef plate with a combo salad. Also we for the Spam Musubi (2 pcs) and the chicken plate.

There was so much food!! The service was quick and friendly. The food was decent, better than a fast food restaurant The area around the restaurant was clean and well-lit making it safe.

    Grand Opening Day - Interior

It's been long coming, but it is finally here -- the grand opening of Ono Hawaiian BBQ! The building itself is squeaky brand new and this location has a drive-through (very convenient). Once you walk in, you can tell the inside is very modern from the furniture. They also have plentiful of inside and outside sitting so they have options on how you want to enjoy your food. :D I got your standard Hawaiian BBQ, and it was delicious. Since I came on grand opening, they had a BOGO so I got 2 orders of the Hawaiian BBQ. What a steal.

    Bogo so awesome

Great service and what a gem to finally have here in the AV. I love Ono and I'm so happy they are finally here. Congratulations to Ono for your grand opening. Today it was awesome because they have a bogo special going on and let me tell you it was worth the wait. I ordered the Hawaiian bbq mix and two kids meals. The flavor is very good and can't go wrong with the Mac salad. The employees are so nice and so kind. Overall it's beautiful in here. Can't wait to come back.

Favorite place to eat but they're needing to be a little nicer to their customers. I will be back but may use drive through next time

Ono why did you change the teriyaki sauce? It tasted horrible and was red? Please change it back.

Finding this restaurant was a bit of luck as we are seldom in this area, but had a doctor's…read moreappointment coming up after lunch and were hoping to find something fast, casual and original. This bright restaurant certainly fit that description! We were impressed by the Hawaiian feel and decor right from the start. We were welcomed so warmly by the young manager and his staff. He explained the menu and some of the options and also that Thursday was a discount day if you ordered a dish that featured chicken as the main protein, because it was Thursday. My partner chose a chicken bowl on a bed of coconut rice (12.99) and I chose the combination chicken breast and shredded luau pork plate (17.99) also with coconut rice, and a delightful mix of sautéed broccoli florets, diced zucchini, onion, and finally shredded carrots. There were four accompanying sauces to sample. I liked a combination of the spicy teriyaki with the pineapple teriyaki. The Sriracha was too hot for me because I'm a wimp when it comes to hot things, and I just didn't love their peanut sauce very much. I think the recipe could be reworked. But I liked that they offered peanut sauce as an option! They also served us a tasty Hawaiian style macaroni salad made with cavatappi pasta. Portions were large, and I love their presentation for dining in, especially the angled bowls. Even their take-home was in high-quality reusable plastic containers , showing the care they gave for even the smaller details. Dessert options include an individual pineapple upside down cake (4.99) and choice of large size chocolate chunk or salted caramel cookies (2.99). There was a serve yourself drink station. Because my partner had the chicken protein he was gifted a free drink. They have locations also in Simi Valley and in Ventura city. The Palmdale location has been opened already for 17 years! We plan to come back here again for certain the next time we're in Palmdale. Plenty of free parking as it's part of a large shopping area, but easily seen from the street. So in short, this was a great find!

I've come here for years, and the food is always great!! A few of my faves, the macaroni salad, pulled pork sandwich, chicken bowl with coconut rice or noodles, Caesar salad... my husband has had a few of the seafood dishes and he's never been disappointed either. The service is always excellent, everybody is nice, so welcoming right away, and the food is always incredibly fast. I mean, I'm able to come here on a 30 minute break, get my food and eat, and still have half of my break left. The outdoor patio, and inside seating is comfortable, clean, and well kept. One of my favorite places to go!

BLEH!!! If I could rate zero stars, I would! So I was in Lancaster for an interview, right?…read more Wondering how I would adjust to this place if I were to actually get an offer, I looked for anything that might have reminded me of something familiar. As I'm cruising down the street, I see a sign. Lancaster might just be OK after all. "Aloha Hawaiian Grill". YES!!! That's what's in order, a plate lunch! As I enter the empty establishment, I make a conscious decision to NOT choose impulsively from the menu. Approaching the counter, I ask for an extra second to think. "I'll have the Kahlua Pork", I said to the man behind the counter (owner). Who, by the way, is not from the islands at all. He's from Santa Clarita. =/ That should have been my first clue, huh? He was nice enough to bring my food to me while I sat at a table. Hhmm... My Kahlua pork was more cabbage than pork, but OK, I can deal with that, as long as it's delicious, right? Whoops, they missed on that one too. It was not good. After the salt, it was simply bland. Perhaps that was the reason for the salt. Also, if you know me and my affinity for Hawaiian food, you'll know that I save the macaroni salad for the end. Oh no you didn't!!!! This crap was nasty! I don't have ANY idea of what they had in there, but it tasted like the macaroni was stale. It had this nasty taste that I had to get a refill (Took it, I wasn't going to pay for it at this point) in order to wash that nastiness out of my mouth. DISCUS TING!!!!... and I rarely make that claim. Oh, and when I visit a Hawaiian establishment, I expect the background music to be... oh, I dunno... HAWAIIAN?!?!?!?! Donna Summer's, "Last Dance", though a timeless gem, just didn't sit too well with me. Save yourself 10 bucks and don't go here. Bad, bad , bad!!!!!!!
