Mussels on the left and the Champignon Magnifique on the right! Both a must try!!!

I want to give a huge shout out to the Champignon Magnifique & the steamed mussels. The mushrooms were a 10/10! Hands down one of my favorite appetizers I've had in a long time. These mushrooms have the perfect amount of batter on them, and an incredible homemade caesar dressing. If you enjoy mushrooms, you must definitely get this! The muscles were also fantastic. There wasn't abundance of sauce, which was great because we dipped all kinds of things in there as well throughout the night. My only feedback here is that I wish they came with more small toasts. Caesar salad was also good. Our server for the night was a doll by the way. He was such a sweetheart and made such fantastic recommendations! The community has definitely loved and supported this place. Grateful to have locally owned restaurants to eat at. Thank you for a wonderful evening!

What an absolute treat! I wanted to take my family out after a long day at the racetrack and thought a nice dinner would fit the bill. La Papillon delivered! We started with their home-made bread (Amazing) and decided to do a round of Oysters. I don't eat oysters but I took a gamble and gave it a shot and it was a nice balance of salty and mild sweetness with that oyster twist that makes them so addicting. When it came to the main event I went with the Ribeye. It came with mashed potatoes and steamed veggies. The steak was great in that it had good flavor, texture, and it also came with fried onions on top as well as a side of Red Wine & Mushroom sauce. The sauce was a nice touch but I didn't need much of it. The family ended up getting pasta dishes and were very happy with their selections. That night was especially nice because they had a singer who executed classics from Sinatra and Englebert Humperdinck but the cherry on top was that he NAILED a sinatra-esque version of the Spiderman theme song. My 16 y.o. son was so impressed that he went up and tipped the guy. On top of the great soundtrack to our dinner the ambiance of the place is very nice. It was a nice mix of classic materials with a modern and clean execution. Lastly, the service was great too. We were well cared for and our server answered all or questions and pointed us to all the right selections for food & drink. I was not expecting to have such a great dining experience!

Cool little place in Lancaster Boulevard, serving Endless Brunch on Weekends and regular entrees all day. Celebrated my mother's birthday here today and did not disappoint. Half of the table explored the Bruch and other half explore different entrees. I tried the steak and eggs but did not photograph as it was delicious. The service was amazing and the place was not too busy for a weekend. The drinks are separate, they are not included with Brunch. Great variety of drinks and wine received complimentary cheese cake and chocolate cake for birthdays! Great touch! Great prices and quality of food.

Fresh roll in herbed olive oil. Delicious!

Best gourmet food in Lancaster! I've been to La Papillion several times, and the food is consistently excellent.

When we arrived most seats inside were taken but we sat on the "porch". We started off with a Champagne Flight. We then went to the buffet. I tried the French toast, bacon, rice , beans, and eggs. The food was okay for a buffet. Not write home about it but good enough to fill you up.

The interior of this restaurant is lovely, with separate seating areas that accommodate larger parties--a great setup for groups. The staff was attentive, quickly bringing water and anything else we needed. For parties of seven or more, the tip is automatically included. The food overall was delicious, and the complementary bread was a highlight. The pasta we ordered was excellent; however, the pizza was just okay--not bad, but nothing that stood out. The others in our group ordered steak and salmon, and they loved their entrées. Be prepared for slightly higher prices, as most dishes are $25+.

This is truly the best place to eat on the boulevard. The prices and portions can't be beat- especially for the quality of the food. The service is amazing. Everyone is greeted so warmly and the servers are very attentive. There is even patio seating for those beautiful days- a great spot to drink their yummy bottomless mimosas! We've been coming here since they opened and have continued coming for brunch religiously at least once a month. We never get tired of how consistently delicious their food is. Today we came in for their lunch buffet for the first time and let me just say.. we will absolutely be back soon for a little lunch date. Their whole selection was delicious! I don't usually like chicken dishes, but the chicken they had available today was phenomenal. It was juicy, had amazing flavor and was fall off the bone tender. They also had the best pasta I've her tasted- which was very surprising and is really saying something considering the fact pasta is my favorite comfort food, so you can imagine how many pasta dishes I've tried over the years. The brisket they had today was so good it made my mouth water I really can't express how much we love this place. Even our kids love it here. You can't go wrong with any dish you choose here. If you don't go for a buffet option, I highly suggest you try the California Benedict!

We started with a French baguette served with honey butter and olive oil for dipping. Both paired perfectly with the bread and were incredibly flavorful. For our entrées, we ordered the lamb shank with mashed potatoes and the herb honey-crusted chicken on a brioche bun. Both dishes were outstanding and full of flavor. The service was excellent, and the atmosphere was pleasant, peaceful, and welcoming. We had a wonderful dining experience and will definitely be back!

Food 3-5 - we've had mixed experiences, but mostly very good. There aren't any off menu requests accepted. One cannot replace ingredients. One can only remove specific items from a menu choice. Don't even ask. Apparently the chef's policy is absolute. Ambiance 4-5 nicely decorated and designed. Has a high end feel that is unusual for the AV. So why the 3 stars? One single experience. My wife asked the server (Jackie) if it would be possible to get a side of sauteed mushrooms. She said probably not as it's not permitted by the chef. We asked to speak to the manager to express our disappointment. When Jake showed up, before we uttered a word, he stated that it's just something they don't do, so no to our request. Then he turned and walked away. There was no dialogue. It was a one way conversation. In essence, we and our request were dismissed. The experience was incredibly off-putting. It was unnecessary to respond to a patron's request in that manner. Totally unacceptable. I write this review to memorialize the experience for others, because it won't matter to the owner/chef/management. It seems, judging by their total lack of response to other reviews, good or bad, that it really doesn't. Typical dinners we've had run a tab of $150-200 (including tip). We have visited 1-2 times a month for the past two years. We have brought friends and family on several occasions, generating additional per-visit revenue for the restaurant. Again, this doesn't seem to matter. So, sadly, we're going to have to take a leave of this place. Too bad really.

However, the place has been around for a long time and the rumor is that it is pretty darn good so I figured I would try the lunch menu. I will be returning this weekend to try the dinner menu and report in on any differences that I may find because this lunch experience was somewhat unique and definitely worth writing about. Upon entering, I was washed over with a wave of nostalgia. It reminded me of all of those semi-fancy places I got to experience with my parents in the 1970s from the lighting to the ambience to the music to the general overall feel, which is very welcoming. And if you are as old as I am, will definitely take you back. And that is a great way to get an appetite started. However, that's when things got a little strange... On a Saturday afternoon, they had exactly one young lady tending bar, working the grill, and acting as a server for not only the interior but for the outside patio area. I'm not sure whether or not this is a gimmick or just a very inefficient way to save money, but let me tell you that that young lady worked herself crazy to take care of everybody and under the circumstances did a fine job of it. Unfortunately, the grill is out in the main dining area and an open fire grill unattended can create somewhat of a safety issue. In addition, an old gentleman well into his cups decided to go over and place his face 6 inches above the food that was currently being cooked, which I thought was a little unsettling. Based on all of this, I decided to order a cheeseburger in that I did not want to risk $50-$60 on a steak that was not going to be attended to consistently. That, dear reader, will come to pass this weekend when I go in for dinner this weekend. Now that we have a basic understanding of the layout, I want to mention a few awesome things: The cocktails were very well made. Generous pours, but they didn't overdo it and the result was delicious. I, myself, enjoyed a Mai Tai. The salad bar was modestly stocked, but did not have a bunch of unnecessary, ridiculous items that people seem to think makes a salad taste better. They also had a soup of the day. But, at 95° outside was not on my list of things to eat. Again, that will be Saturday. The cheeseburger was surprisingly delicious due to the fact that I don't think it was looked at more than twice and flipped more than once, but it was pretty darn good with a great char, and medium as ordered. Upon requesting the check, it was noticed that the dinner salad listed on the menu at $7.99 was charged at $25. After three different conversations, the overworked server / cook / bartender realized the error and immediately made things right. All in all this place is definitely worth a visit if you are in the area. The research I did shows that the locals just love it. You can go on a classy date or something casual with some friends, and you will still have that sophisticated, refined throwback to an earlier time when going out to dinner was truly an event. The only concern I have is for a staff member having to deal with several people and wear several hats with no backup whatsoever. The inability to stay on top of a grill that is consistently going in the main dining area is a safety concern, but not the fault of the server herself. This is a management decision and I would definitely recommend that a second person is always on whether it is lunch or dinner. She did mention that in the dinner time cycle, there is another person who comes in to assist and that is the reason I'm going back Saturday. I want to see how the dinner turn and burn works because the burger was really good and I imagine that the steaks are gonna be just as good as everybody says they are. It is definitely worth a visit. Until then....
