I didn't have that many items to move since I live in a studio, but I did have some larger furniture that I couldn't move myself-- which is why I hired movers. I picked this moving company because I thought they would be extra careful with my furniture. To my surprise, 1 of the 3 men wound up damaging 1 of my wardrobes to the extent that I now need a new one, even though it was wrapped up, and injured himself in the process. The top and back popped off, the doors are uneven, the screws are exposed, the connecting pieces are out and/or missing, the wood is chipped and broken off, and the shelves don't stay up in the wardrobe. Their customer support had the audacity to only offer $45, saying the "plan" I paid for covered $0.60/lb and estimated (with no research) that the wardrobe was 75lbs. Wrong! The wardrobe is actually worth $200 and is over 100lbs, so they are already lowballing me. It shouldn't matter what "plan" I paid for; if YOU break it, YOU need to make it right and replace the wardrobe! I could have saved myself $300-$400 and a wardrobe by getting movers through Task Rabbit, which I've done in the past and had no issues with. Definitely never booking with them again. The only positive experience was the friendliness of the movers themselves.

This is because the email I received from Austin was about as clear-cut as one could as for: a breakdown and summary of the total cost, without any hidden or extra fees; delivery within two days; and a clear description of what could and could not be dumped. Throughout all of our interactions, Austin and Budget Dumpster made the entire process as clear, concise and worry-free as could be, responding within minutes to all of my email inquiries. Every other dumpster company I contacted was uncommunicative, unhelpful, or just plain unpleasant to deal with, save one (Republic), although they priced themselves out of the market, coming in at nearly double the price as Budget. Hilariously, the dumpster was delivered and picked up by Republic, so apparently Budget Dumpster contracts with local recyclers, who shoot themselves in the foot and lose a customer with their outrageous prices. I'm not sure how that business model works out for Republic, but hey, fine by me: I'll just go through Austin and Budget Dumpster again in the future, and let Republic do the dirty work.
