This campground has always been privately owned until this past year when it was purchased by a company who is slowly purchasing local campgrounds that are for sale. We were very nervous about this, but for this first year it has been fine, very much the same quality. The company owner has had a few "bugs" to work out but has seemed very motivated to do so and has been receptive to camper input about any concerns. We will continue our seasonal occupancy there, and expect future summers to be just as enjoyable as the previous ones.

Garbage is picked up at every site every day, great walking trails, fishing ponds and a nice pool/hot tub area. Each year we book a site in August for the weekend when they do the flashlight candy hunt for the kids. The kids absolutely love it and the staff makes sure that no child leaves without candy. Being able to hop on a shuttle or take a short drive to the casino is a plus if you're into that too! Nice restaurants and venues there for rainy days. The only thing that even borders on a negative is the price, which is higher than a lot of other campgrounds, but you really do get what you pay for, and that is especially true here. Barring some catastrophic change, we will be back many more times in the future!

The park police patrolled regularly and I never saw them have to stop and talk to someone. There was the occasional dog bark or baby crying in the night, but not as much as at other parks I have been to. The showers / restrooms are clean and comfortable. They even have a wash sink for doing dishes on the side of the building. We did not do any hiking so I can't comment on the trails. We didn't check into any park activities as we had our own agenda. Do be aware that there is no swimming area. The beach area is posted and is a stoney beach (not sandy). There is a short pier from which people were fishing. I would go back to this park again.

It's a 20 minute drive to groceries/fast food restaurants. Having full hook-up throughout the winter in upstate NY is rare and this was a bonus. For the short time I was waiting for a winter site, I had to use the on-site showers/bathrooms. They were very clean with cedar plank walls. Propane fill is available on site. Rates are very competitive for stays both long-term and short. There is a seasonal pool available and on-site laundry facilities. There are lots of mature trees with beautiful foliage. The owner, Jeff, was very responsive, friendly, and allowed me to set up an archery target on his property outside of the campground. Some of the sites are very narrow which doesn't allow full use of awnings. Owner doesn't accept online, bank transfer, or credit cards which makes making payments a pain to do when you work odd hours. The campground is not very large, so you do hear your neighbors from time to time. I'd recommend to any full-timers and seasonal users.

I am a very go with the flow person so my husband and I decided to give the reviews the benefit of the doubt. We get there I walk into the office, no lights with just a little dog to greet me. After a few minutes an older gentleman came out with just shorts on, top button unbuttoned. Told him I had called the day prior for reservation. He said "Yes you did. I see its not just you, how many people are there?" I tell him 3 total. He then proceeds to tell me it will be an additional $100 a week per person. Im not sure if he just woke up, didnt feel well or had been drinking. I told him to have a great day as I went to walk out. I would NEVER recommend this for people who have children, elderly, women or anyone. We found a lovely spot nearby called Bears Sleepy Hallow... Go down the road there. If I could give 0 stars I would.

Lots of stuff for the kids to do. I would recommend bringing bikes for kids because the place is very big. The sites are a little small but I have been in tighter campgrounds before.
