I had scheduled a drift boat trip with Nate back in August. It was getting close to the time, so I…read morepinged him a week before to ask him where I would meet. here was his response, "Hi Jim I'll let you day or two before your trip ,on where and what we will be doing thanks nate " It was 4:30 in the afternoon the day before and he had not responded, so I pinged him again and he called right back.............unfortunately to tell me that he couldn't do the time and/or the drift boat trip due to low water levels. He gave me an option of fishing in the estuary late evening, 6:00pm, or early morning 3:30am. Unfortunately, these were times I could not do, so I asked for a refund on my deposit. He tells me if I had let him know earlier, then he would have refunded. HE WAS THE ONE WHO DELAYED AND DID NOT GET BACK TO ME!!!!!!!!!!!! I know this is a busy time of the year with the salmon running, and I am ok that he was not able to do the trip that we had scheduled due to water levels, but to not provide a refund on my deposit when any non communications was on his part is just unethical. He also doesn't accept credit cards, so I had used Venmo with no way of getting my money back. If you are looking to schedule a drift boat or use them as a guide service, I would NOT set it up with Nate, I would go with a guide that accepts credit cards so that, in the event a situation arises that they can't hold up to the scheduled date, you will at least be able to get your deposit back.
