We had beer, sweet tea. Salads Chicken parm Over pasts. Pasts dish w broccoli and peppers in a cream sauce w shrimp. It was the wrong order. It was supposed to be an olive oil and parmesan shrimp added. Not in cream sauce. It was ok. Bailey was great. Friendly.

We stayed at the lodge over Labor Day wknd 2018. You get what you pay for, $75 per night- gives you a room (walls were covered w beige , strange carpets. Yes, the walls were carpeted. I had learned through a bar patron that there was a serious fire in the kitchen and the rooms were recently redone and open for business.) Also includes docking your boat at their private dock. Arrived in time Friday night for the fish fry. We each had the wall-eye and the haddock - both were good. The second night we ate there a again and the prime rib and wall-eye fish dinner, we enjoyed it. When we arrived Friday, there was a decent live band, performance by the owner, Bill Saiff and his crew. Very small town feel here, friendly conversations at the bar. The bartender not only tends the bar but checks in guests as well. The main reason I'm only giving it 2 stars is because the room felt weird.

Seemingly in the middle of rural upstate NY is this gem of a restaurant. The server and everyone on the staff that interacted with us were simply lovely! Kind, helpful and joyful. I ordered a turkey melt with onion rings, and my friend had a burger with fried which she claimed was one of the best she had eaten in a long time. Accompanied by "sassy sauce" our fries and onion rings were dipped in this delightful yet spicy accoutrement! My turkey melt was delicious- carved turkey- not slimy cold cuts, cheese and banana peppers were a perfect and delectable combination on lightly toasted bread- simply marvelous! For desert- and they are all lovingly homemade, I had a mixed berry pie with ice cream and my friend had a slice of Dutch apple pie! Both equally and fabulously delicious! We left stuffed to the gills and so glad that we turned the truck around to try this hidden gem! Don't pass it up- stop by- it's worth it!

Unfortunately, the…read moreowner's behavior completely overshadowed the food, and after giving her three chances, I won't spend my money there again. On our first visit, my 87-year-old father casually mentioned that he hadn't known the place existed. The owner responded by yelling at him about how long the business has been open and listing other places she owns, leaving him feeling embarrassed and ignorant. The final straw happened during my most recent visit. I flew in from Las Vegas and wanted to take my parents, both in their 80s, to get sandwiches. Standing for long periods is difficult for them, so they sat briefly in the dining area while I ordered. They were the only customers in the restaurant at the time. They were immediately yelled at and told they could not sit there unless they ordered from the dinner menu. My father politely explained that we were ordering sandwiches and that his daughter had just flown in. The owner said it didn't matter--if we weren't ordering off the dinner menu, we had to leave. As a result, we were forced to eat in our car in the middle of winter. Great food does not excuse disrespectful, unkind treatment--especially toward elderly customers. The lack of compassion was shocking, and I will not return.
