Will never go again. We came here for our Anniversary boy was that a mistake. We both ordered burgers, his medium rare, mine well done. Our burgers came out, no lettuce, tomato or onions, we assumed they came on it, nope just cheese. My husband ordered his medium rare and mine well done. His was well done and mine was so black and crunchy on the edges I couldn't even eat it. As for the fries you may get a handful. Would not recommend this place. read more

This was not our final destination but we ended up eating at the West View Lodge. This is a bar type establishment with nice outdoor seating or indoor. Everyone was kind and service was superb. My son and I ordered their special shrimp salad sandwich and steak quesadilla ( not pictured ) along with potato skins. Absolutely delicious. Stop in have a drink with some pretty views of the lake. Parking is limited some street parking. I parked across the street in a little parking lot. read more

My friends, husband and I chose West View simply because most places in the area were closed on a Tuesday night. And what a stroke of luck! We loved the place. The service was attentive and friendly; our Philly cheese steaks, burgers, and bang bang, shrimp appetizer, were delicious and portions generous. The Bloody Marys had just the right spiciness and the margaritas had just the right kick. Plus we were lucky enough to get an outside table overlooking the harbor. There was 11 of us I called and made a reservation, we had three little kids, staff was very friendly and attentive. We had the perfect table in the back dining room. It was nicely air-conditioned as the weather was pretty humid. Our food was delicious and we had an enjoyable time, my daughter had the perch, fish fry, my mother and I shared the captains platter, another friend of mine had the scallops. One of us had a burger. Another two people had the haddock fish sandwich. Everything was delicious and pricing was not as bad as what it is at other places. We stayed at the lodge over Labor Day wknd 2018. You get what you pay for, $75 per night- gives you a room (walls were covered w beige , strange carpets. Yes, the walls were carpeted. I had learned through a bar patron that there was a serious fire in the kitchen and the rooms were recently redone and open for business.) Also includes docking your boat at their private dock. Arrived in time Friday night for the fish fry. We each had the wall-eye and the haddock - both were good. The second night we ate there a again and the prime rib and wall-eye fish dinner, we enjoyed it. When we arrived Friday, there was a decent live band, performance by the owner, Bill Saiff and his crew. Very small town feel here, friendly conversations at the bar. The bartender not only tends the bar but checks in guests as well. The main reason I'm only giving it 2 stars is because the room felt weird. read more

I would first like to say my server, I believe his name was Justin, was awesome. I felt bad because other diners were giving him grief about the food. The poor dude doesn't cook it, just serves it, and he was trying his best to make them happy. He also was attentive to me and was clearly doing his best. The food sadly, was not all that great. The West view is the perfect hidden gem. Delicious food! We had the fried perch and wings... our waitress suggest the buffalo garlic parm flavor and they were amazing!!! Crispy wings and flavorful sauce! The perch came in a jam that was perfect for the yummy salty perch! My boyfriend and I shared a cup of chowder which was also delicious with large chunks of crab in it! The staff was kind, restaurant was clean! Very nice family vibe! On a beautiful summer weekend evening we chose this restaurant as our destination. The drive and view were beautiful. The rest, not so much. Although we had the entire dining room to ourselves, the rookie waitress was nervous and confused. When she asked the more experienced server( bartender) we could hear her answer " Tell them to wait !" Refills on the drinks never came , so we had to get to the bar and get our own. So did a couple on the deck. 45 min later our tiny salads were delivered. About 45 min after that our entries came to the table. The chicken Parmesan was reported to be very good. Both orders of prime rib were thin and overlooked. More like a sirloin than a tender juicy rib. The Philly Cheese Steak had obviously been sitting on the roll for quite a while, as the roll was soggy and falling apart. Unfortunately I'll rate this as a disappointing experience, however it wasn't the first bad one at this venue. What makes it even more concerning is that both owners ( Jr and 3 ) were there and never checked on patrons, but could clearly be heard laughing in the background. The next dinner in that zip code will probably be at Ryan's Lookout. Great food and service there. read more

I'm a regular customer at this establishment and there is a certain employee that doesn't have the right attitude. Her name is Rachel and she was working the Bar this past Sunday evening. She was very disrespectful and wasn't curtious of others. Slamming bottles on the bar and making herself look like a fool. She made rude comments and gestures that would be frowned upon by other places. This is not the first time I've seen this behavior from the girl either. read more

My fiancé & I make sure to stop here EVERY TIME we are in the area. The staff always make us feel like regulars. If Gails not there Christy always knows what we like & have it ready for us as we are even walking up their stairs outside still. We've gone here year round & although the Seasons change one things for sure their generous hospitality certainly doesn't change. Also they have rooms upstairs that we have rented a few times now & that even more just compliments the "Up North" feel that this place has. Kind of a hole-in-the wall out in the boondocks, the Westview will catch you by surprise with its unexpectedly good dishes and large portions. It's a rather small joint, but they manage to pack a lot into the space they've got. There's always a bar crowd, and diners can enjoy their meals to a soundtrack of classic rock music, interspersed with local gossip. The steamed baby clams made for a light, tasty appetizer, plenty enough for two people to share. The "ball tip" steak may have a frightening name, but it was perfectly cooked and tasty! (What DO they season it with?) Fried butterfly shrimp were lightly breaded and not at all greasy. Good with or without cocktail sauce. Baked potato and wild rice were the sides that we tried... both very good. Oh yes, forgot to mention that the hot dinner rolls and the salads we started our meals with were fresh and good eats!
