I asked for partial highlights & a haircut. She did not give me her prices up front. She put her brochure in my purse to take home with me. She also left a dark area right on top in front that she just left hanging there. My hair looked awful. It was not even blond. When she was done she took me out front to try to see the highlights which were not there.... She said it would lighten up !!!! She left my toner on for way too long. My hair looked blond before the toner !!!! She then charged me for a full highlights @ her full price. I asked for a partial. I still tipped her I felt bad that she worked so hard. It was after I got home & my daughter told me that Erica was on her computer answering emails & left the toner in for too long. Her "dark" toner ruined my hair !!!! She has a sign out front that says "FIRST CLIENT SPECIALS". She does not pay any attention to her own sign. Erica did say she would do it again in 1 week. Unfortunately I didn't read the reviews on this place before coming here. My fault. I was in a rush to get my lashes done before my birthday trip so i literally booked the first person to answer the phone. During and after my lash appointment, my eyes because extremely red, irritated and watery. I messaged Erica and she said they had no experience with other clients having this reaction and maybe I was allergic to the glue. Her suggestion was to have them removed after spending $200 to have them put on. I decided to see if the irritation went away which it thankfully did. A few days later, the lashes just started falling out one by one. I messaged her again and she again said they've never had this happen before (even though I've read similar reviews on her work) and again her only suggestion was to remove them. While I understand this wasn't her fault, it wasn't mine either and I'm out $200 with lashes look like garbage. I should have paid more attention to the reviews. My suggestion would be to find another lash tech and READ THE REVIEWS. read more

I don't typically post reviews, but this needs to be posted. This was an AWFUL experience. I was looking forward to getting my lasjes done for the first time. During the lashes application my eyes started to burn and get very itchy. I endured it for about 25 minutes, then spoke up and said my eyes were burning and very itchy. The lady doing my lashes was SO RUDE. Instead of asking if I was OK, she RUDELY said, "I guess we have to stop the procedure." I was with my sister who was getting her lashes done by a second lady. My sister couldn't beleive how rude the lady who was working on my lashes was speaking. My sister was in the middle if getting her lashes done, so we couldn't just leave. Afterwards, I asked if I could offer the lady who was doing my lashes (that was only fair) some compensation since she had done about 1/2 of one eye. She then told me it would be $130!!!!! I don't normally write yelp reviews at all, but I wanted to let people know about this place. I love lash lifts, have gotten them at a few places, but wanted to try someplace new. I really would not recommend this place. Rachel was nice, no complaints about their customer service. But man. I can't believe I spent $65 on a lash lift where my lashes are barely curly. Now trust me, I did not do any hot showers or sauna 48 hrs after like recommended, but even my family couldn't tell I had gotten my lashes done. I didn't really notice it until I got into my car, but at that point is was kinda to late to say anything. Not to mention, you're not in a secluded room. So while I was laying there for 45 minutes, I was just listening to the girl next to me talk about her abusive husband and divorce. They were chatting about some really private information that I doubt anyone would want a stranger to hear. But I'm laying there while my lashes are perming, I can't really close my ears lol. First time here. I got hybrid lashes. I don't like to give negative reviews unless I know I've been taken advantage of. This place sucks in terms of application. The salon manager was nice but she definitely takes advantage of people. My Hybrid lashes lasted 5 days. They're supposed to last 2-3 weeks. When I called on the 7th day, the other gal (Rachel I believe) had all the excuses in the world why my lashes only lasted 5 days. Now that I'm getting them done somewhere else, I know she was bullshitting me. I was charged $175 for the hybrid lashes and she asked me for a tip! I'm usually a great tipper but when I'm asked to tip it's a turn off for me! So unprofessional! Needless to say, $200 in, lashes lasted 5 days! This photo was taken on day 5! Don't go to this place! Terrible! Can't believe in this day and age to be treated this way. They charge you $20 if you don't cancel within 24 hours BUT will cancel last minute on you with no help of another appointment within a reasonable time frame. Plus rude! I was so turned off after they did this to me (and I found an amazing place for much less) I called back to cancel my daughter's appointment for the next day and was told it was less then a technical twenty-four hours!! As it was only 20 hours from now, are you kidding!? The same woman Erica who is the manager and called to last minute cancel on me earlier in the day. And was not nice or the least bit helpful then either. I said well how about you cancelling on people without some form of compensation or a backup plan for another person to fill in. I have been going here for many years. They are great. I love my lashes, every time I walk out the door I am a much happier person. I have tried a few other places and they just don't compare to the lashes I get at Ooh la lash & Beauty. Rachel always makes sure I am comfortable and I get the lashes I came in for. It got 2 stars because they were really nice. Besides that not really satisfied. I went for lash extensions on Friday... they looked ok when she finished to say the least... it's now Monday and almost all of the lash extensions have fallen off my right eye.. I know how to care for them and have done everything I was told yet they're still gone... in 2 days .. when they're suppose to last 2-3 weeks. As a beauty professional it's important to make your client feel heard and validated, and I also realize that what a client might have in mind can't always be described in words and why I always ask for pictures. I brought lots of pictures with me to my appointment so that we would not have a misunderstanding on what I wanted . Long story short I didn't get the lashes I wanted and paid for. I wanted a "wispy" airy set. When I looked on their IG account I saw a pic of what I wanted ..I showed her. It was the classic style I was looking for, I don't know the difference, the verbiage is confusing to me, and why she didn't just say.."what you want is "classic" not hybrid. Now I have two caterpillars on my eyes..and have been told by the owner and the lash tech that i should wait until they start falling off, and than I'll like them..WHAT? , really? WOW.. not only did they argue with me and make me feel dumb for bringing it up..they wanted to charge me and extra $130.00 to redo it..I had already paid $230.00. Never ever going back there again. I absolutely do not recommend this shop. I'm usually not one to post reviews... But seriously thinking about the money I wasted at this place I really thought I should give people a heads up. I started coming to the shop they initially put me with a lash artist that must have been new to their location she literally Was horrible... I called the shop and told them what what a bad job she had done and the owner said to come in and that she would fix them for me. I came in she fixed them I guess to the best of her ability and did not charge me which I thought was great. I came back and saw her another time and figured out pretty quickly that lashes was not her forte I think she did a lot of the haircuts and maybe some skin care stuff and occasionally I did see her do lashes but I don't believe it was her it's her strong Point. I wound up getting the membership and and started seeing Rachel. I'm the type of person that likes to go to one shop form really good relationships with the people that I'm dealing with and continue to Give them my business. I saw Rachel a few times she was definitely better than the 1st girl that I saw and definitely better than the owner but her personality was literally horrible. So impersonal and actually borderline Rude. At this point I was committed I had already paid the membership and I thought well I'll just stick around and hopefully things will get better. They did not. I cut my losses and moved on. Ladies we know that eyelashes are expensive to maintain I spend good money on keeping my lashes looking good. I literally would prebook my appointment at this place and came in every 2 weeks faithfully and still the service I received was not up to my standard of even mediocre. I have now found my sweet spot with my lashgal who not only does an exceedingly excellent job but her customer service and her personality are wonderful. For me it's not just about coming into a business and spending money it's about relationships. Especially when you're spending a nice chunk of change it feels really good to know that the business that you're giving your money to appreciate you. I did not feel this at this shop at all. I found Ooh La Lash when I was in desperate need of a facial and some self care. First, it's super convenient from where I live in La Mesa. Secondly, Rachel and Erica made me feel so comfortable and calm even though I hadn't had a facial in quite some time and was a little nervous because of my dry, sensitive skin. Rachel did an AMAZING job, my skin was glowing, hydrated, and ooh so happy. I am so so so glad I found them!! I just went back for another facial and also got my lashes done, and let me tell you.... Staff was friendly. Lashes did look nice the day they were put on. I got my lashes done for my son's wedding. Lashes done on a Wednesday and wedding was the following Tuesday. Unfortunately lashes had started to fall out significantly before the week was up. I had to use strip lashes for the wedding. I called to cancel my appt. that I had set up the day before, something had come up from work, and I had to call to reschedule my appt. someone from the staff said "hold on let me let you speak my manager" so the "manager" got on the line and was not even considered. She was straight up RUDE and so unprofessional. When I had asked for her name she refused to give it to me. She kept saying to me "the late charge is on the website" and I tried to explain to her that information was not ever given to me. I loveeeeee this salon! I have been coming to Rachel for my brows and lashes for quite some time! She micro bladed my eyebrows and they turned out fantastic! After going to Ooh La Lash several times and having a lovely experience, I woke the morning of my 4:30pm appointment to find myself with Covid symptoms. I work in healthcare so this wasn't super surprising, even with my N-95, fully vaccinated and boosted self. I was however surprised when I called first thing after I got up and left a VM for the young lady who does my lashes to let her know asap that I needed to reschedule my appointment due to possibly having Covid. I never received a phone call back but I did receive an email letting me know I was being charged 1/2 of the cost of my regular appointment which was $35.00. Now $35.00 isn't the end of the world, BUT I've been a loyal customer and go about every 2-3 weeks spending on average $80-90 each time, because I also tip well. I have about 180 clients and 300 employees that work for me and we deal in customer service so I know how to keep my clients happy and I can tell you, this would not be it. I called back and left another VM in which hours later got a phone call letting me know that they had no intention of making any exception for me as a returning client and this was their policy. I too understand this policy because I also must bill and pay my employees when one of my clients adjusts their needs within a 24hr window, however, if they are obviously (I was loosing my voice and seriously congested so it was very clear I was not "faking it") sick, I will always make an exception for a long standing client. So disappointing and unfortunately, I'll be going to one of the other hundred lash boutiques in the area. read more
