Moved our daughter into college this week and stopped here for lunch! The restaurant is very open and airy. The staff was very kind and helpful, also very quick! We ordered several appetizers as we like to share! They were ALL very authentic and close to the region of Greece my family is from, so the flavors reminded me of my Yiayia i highly recommend this restaurant especially for it's authenticity! Family dinner! We came here before going to the movies. First time, drinks were yummy! They do put cheese on a lot of the stuff, so next time I have to say no cheese. The Greek style fries were regular fries instead of the typical truffle fries, my family said those were okay! I have phenomenal service every time I walk in here. The food is delicious, especially the dolma! Other places would serve it from a can. It is delectable here, the olive oil tastes so good on the dolma. I also love the spanakopita, avgolemono soup, and hummus here. The best of all is the top tier service. We decided to try Opa out after an event near by. It was packed... and I don't think the kitchen or wait staff were really prepared for the crowd. It took a really long time to order them an even longer wait for our food. We sat on the patio because it was a million degrees in side there were misters so it was nice and surprisingly way cooler than inside. The food was good the hummus was amazing and everything was fresh. If I was in the area I'd try them again I think it would have been a better experience if it wasn't so busy. read more

Delicious food and great staff! We came after a fitness event at the stadium and had a great time. We definitely overwhelmed the staff but they handled it with such a great attitude despite only having 3 servers for the entire (completely full) restaurant. Ambiance was cute and casual. The falafel pita was thick, lacked tzatziki sauce, were dry, and largely bereft of tomatoes (small barely identifiable chunks). Not juicy. A side order of hummus was also...OK. Had more cucumbers than pita for the hummus; one kalamata olive hidden. Service was fine. Overall value: Just OK. Nice clean facility. Just not enough value or flavor or panache. read more

Opa offers up standards (pitas, gyro, souvlaki, moussaka, et al) in an airy cafe setting. I ordered a platter: protein + pita + tzatziki + two sides, opting for gyro with veggies and salad. The salad and pita were the highlights of the dish: the tangy vinaigrette lending a brightness to the salad while the pita was fresh and soft. It's one of those restaurants that is a little confusing when you first walk in without explanation. There's a counter, there's a refrigerator, and there's a dining room. So where do I go? Apparently, you go to the counter and you are and then you go sit down and they bring the food out to you. There's really no explanation when you first come in though it looks like a regular restaurant it's set up like I said a little confusing. They do have wine, but it was fairly uncomfortable to drink wine in a place that seem like a fast food joint. Possibly some signage could help them. While out and about on Saturday afternoon we decided to stop by west gate for some drinks and possible food. Our first stop was a dud and the music so loud our ears needed time to calm. We saw Opa Life and no wait so we decided to give it a try. We were greeted and seated right away. The noise level was great and a few TV's at the bar were playing sports. The menu is small, but had some great options. We weren't too hungry as we'd ate earlier in the day so we decided to share the chicken souvlaki skewer which comes with two sides. We chose the Greek salad and rice. We ordered some beer and water. Beer was cold and water refreshing. Our food came out quick and was plated phenomenally. From the first bite to the last it was all delicious. I'm so surprised at the lack of customers. It's bright and clean inside, service was good and we had no issues. The other patrons inside seemed happy as well. This was our first time here and of course I've not tried other menu items, but I felt portions were huge and enjoyed it. The servers I will say looked bored, one sitting chatting with someone not sure if customers or owner, others just grouped near the front. Hopefully it's not this slow everyday. read more

We stopped here as our 2nd stop of the night in Glendale on Saturday the 16th for our weekend trip to watch the 49ers/Cardinals game. This place has a super cool staff, and what I would call Greek bar food. We had a pizza with gyro on it, and was a cool idea. The drinks & food were reasonably priced, the location can't be beat, right on the corner of what starts countless bars/restaurants past the movie theater. My friends and I were originally planning on going to Ike's Sandwiches at Westgate, but they were closed when we got there at 6:00 pm. We decided to give Opa Life Greek Cafe a try, since it is a quick-serve restaurant versus a sit-down restaurant and we didn't have a lot of extra time. We looked at menus while we waited in line to order. Their prices seemed quite reasonable, which was fantastic. The cashier was very friendly and helpful and answered our many questions when we were ordering. I ordered the veggie wrap with Greek fries and my boyfriend ordered the gyro wrap with Greek fries. We figured that we had better try the Greek fries at a Greek restaurant, right? We were not disappointed. The Greek fries were topped with feta cheese and had lots of garlic flavor. Delicious! Both of our wraps were large and satisfying. The food was delivered to our table by a friendly staff member within 10 minutes of ordering. He even brought extra tzatziki sauce to me when I asked for some. The restaurant was quite busy while we were there. The manager made sure to stop by every table to see how everything tasted. It's been a while since I reviewed here...and honestly, I hadn't gone back since then. But, hubby decided to pick up dinner and have me give it another go. He got me the lamb skewers with their Greek fries. I have to say, the lamb was tender and really good. I also liked the charred green peppers mixed onto the skewer. And, the Greek fries were a delight! My only issue is, all the fixin's are on the top and underneath are lots of bland, plain fries. It would be nice for them to be mixed together, since the cheese kinda melts and it's hard to mix it up once it's done that. I do like the sauce over the top, though. Hubby got the chicken skewers and was a bit disappointed, due to them being very dry and overcooked. However, he loves their mixed veggies (so do I). It's a long story how my order got messed up but the people working here did a great job of fixing it and making sure my friend and I were taken cared of. I ordered a chicken pita with greek fries. The pita had marinated chicken, lettuce, tomatoes and tzatziki sauce. The Greek fries had a sauce on them with feta cheese and another type of shredded cheese. Both were delicious! My friend ordered a pepperoni pizza. For a Greek place, they make pretty decent pizzas! Overall, it was a good experience. She was attentive, professional, and truly a highlight of our visit. I later learned that the initial individual was the manager, which was disappointing, as I did not observe her assisting the server or engaging with guest. The only reason I am leaving a 4-star review and not a 3 is because of the excellent service provided by your server. While the service from your server was excellent and appreciated, I hope future visits reflect stronger leadership support, as the level of engagement is what elevates a restaurant experience to 5 stars.
