Usually LOVE this spot. Today was a letdown. Super disappointing. Treated some friends, hyped up how good this place was. We both ordered a chicken wrap; I got one, and they shared one. When we got our food, the wraps were TINY- we both requested "no tomatoes" (how I normally order), but the wraps came out like half the size. ABSOLUTE RIPOFF. I cannot justify paying as much money as I did for such a tiny wrap. I saved half and took a picture. In hindsight, I should've taken a photo of the tiny portion on the tray. It looked like a pressed egg roll. Food: delicious BUT OVERPRICED FOR THE TINY PORTION. Service: always friendly, but really guys? This wrap is embarrassing. Ambiance: chill. This must've been what I paid for- cuz the food was a child's portion. Conclusion: thank goodness I ordered some of everything- otherwise, we'd still be hungry. My friends enjoyed the flavors but were not impressed with the size of their wrap. Especially because they ripped off some of the extra wrap, which made it smaller. Doubt I'll be back unless they fix their portions. For real, I feel ripped off. Updated: decreasing from 5 stars to 2.

Went to this place while doing a remodeling job around the corner. Walked in when it first opened, everything was very clean and neat inside. Very friendly at the front counter. The place has a lot of seating and space. The falafels are soooooo good and fresh. My friend loved the beef pita, and the fries were really crispy and made perfect. They also have really good different flavored house lemonades.

Food is amazing , my good friend George took me to this place , I think it was his third day in row ! He say the falafels are to die for , true indeed they are heavenly . The place is spotless and with an open kitchen , I had the chicken shawarma plate , seasoned to perfection with rice , sliced English cucumbers , fresh slices of tomatoes , sliced pickles , lettuce , some stuffed olives , garbanzo beans and a wonderful soup, the sauces are spicy and full of flavor not just hot sauces. The hummus that comes with the falafel is amazing ! I just recently moved closed so i will be there at least three times a week maybe more. The baclava are super great as well ! I can't say anything bad about this place ! Lot of pride in the presentation and quality of food ! I've told some of my customers at my restaurant tonight to come patronize your place !

Small but very clean interior. Easy parking- it's part of a strip mall so lots available. The food was AMAZING! I understand why there are so well known. The falafel wrap was one of the best I've had in awhile, and the lentil soup it comes with was also surprisingly good!

I have had friends and colleagues speak about Casa de Falafel so highly for so long that I finally got the opportunity to try it yesterday when a friend in the area met up with me for lunch. As someone who works across the street at the ASU West Valley Campus, this was such a convenient location for a tasty restaurant with good service! While they are known for their falafel, they have some other delicious meals. I chose to order their chicken schwarma pita, which came with a side of their own lentil soup. Not typically a fan of lentil soup, I gave it a try, and it was fine, though the pita was wonderful! My friend ordered the same. They ask you if you want the meal spicy. The least spicy is medium. I chose no spice while my friend ordered his meal with medium spice. I have a feeling I will try the falafel next time, which I do typically really enjoy but the chicken schwarma pita was so good, I'm not sure I will be ready to try something else yet. But I keep hearing that their falafel crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and made fresh each day. The service was good though I didn't really need much assistance once I placed my order and picked it up. Some of the tables sat with trash on it for quite some time (including the table we ended up sitting at and throwing items out ourselves). I think this is a restaurant where you're supposed to clean up after yourself. We noticed that on the menu, they shared some deals they had including Falafel Friday falafel bowls for $2 off on Fridays. You can also purchase their own recipe of lentil soup in packages to make at home for only $2.99 per package. In addition to lunch and dinner options, they have takeout, delivery, and catering as other options. In fact, they have an app and a loyalty program for ordering online called Falafel Restaurant Rewards. On the website it says, "Join the Casa De Falafel Rewards Program today and start earning points every time you order! Enjoy exclusive perks, discounts, and surprises as our way of saying thank you for being a loyal customer." I created an account before heading over and received 100 points for signing up. You can start earning free food at 500 points. I was disappointed as I didn't see it said it was for online orders online, and when I asked about it, I was told there is no loyalty program for in-person orders. This won't keep me from coming back but it certainly is a missed opportunity for Casa de Falafel. You can learn about the restaurant and sign up for an online account by going to https://cdfalafel.com. While the restaurant considers itself "convenient and affordable," I've noticed that the price is higher than a lot of the nearby restaurants. Even with this in mind, I certainly recommend this restaurant to others. I look forward to coming back again soon and perhaps trying to order food online. Perhaps I'll even order falafel!

Wanted to enjoy this place but the falafel rings were the best thing we ate that we ordered. For the chicken shawarma bowl, I'll have to give a 3. Flavor was just ok and I don't think we had much protein. Mostly rice, fries, and sauce. It doesn't come with any pita bread but you can order some for $1 each. Service was efficient and smooth. The ambiance looks well-maintained and clean which is a plus for me.

On the bottom portion Falafel Rings and Lentil Soup, a slice of lemon (you knew that) and a small cup of tahini.

Casa De Falafel is a spotless Middle Eastern restaurant. It is easy to get to but not visible from the road. It's in an alcove. It is well equipped, clean and serves delicious food. Gastronomically, it is divine. First, some words about the hardware. Inside the odorless/spotless Men's Bathroom, there is a changing table. The indoor dining area had two high chairs. The outdoor seats were empty, but all tables were equipped with "buzzers" to call you when your food is ready. The lentil soup is full of flavor. Thick and warm full flavored lentil soup accompanies most dishes. It can be a meal by itself: 12 oz. for $4.50. Falafel rings, which look like donuts, sell, with your choice of Vegan Tahini or a Mango Pickle. The rings come in mild, medium or hot. The medium rings are piquant to someone who enjoys very hot food. Falafel Tacos (2) are served on a rack. They are laden with tahini over lettuce, which lies above the falafel. That arrangement shelters the warm chewy tortillas from the tahini rain. The tacos keep their texture. Someone else at the table had the Eastern Salad. That comes with four ounces of Lentil Soup. The salad was too large for them to finish, but they did love every bite of it. The menu lists all the ingredients in the salad. Casa De Falafel serves serves chicken and beef shawarma. They also have other veggie variations on a Middle Eastern theme. They are all posted on the menu, and on the hand out which is below. It is good. It is better than good. It's better than five stars. I take out the sixth star, the invisible sapphire star. Its great food, prepared creatively. My rave is not mine alone. Look at the menu/brochure, there is a list of awards. Vegetarians, Carnivores and Omnivores, you have got to try this one!

    Yes

    Do they have vegan options?

Yes, there falafel plate and sandwich are both vegan.

Are there places to sit down inside? I don't see pictures of that. How many seats are there? Is this a good place for a group of 6 or 7?

I was not kidding, it is a gas station, but don't permit that from have you venture over to the kitchen side. Delicious...and, to answer your question, if there are seats outside, well, did I mention, it was a gas station?...also, in total, maybe…

We chose this restaurant to accommodate them for once, as usually they accommodate us. I was impressed by the extensive menu. I've never been to a vegan restaurant before, but it had quite the breadth. I ordered the cheeseburger, comprised of a plant based patty, cheese, lettuce, tomato, red onion, pickles, and housemade mayo served on brioche bun with a choice of fries or side salad. As they ran out of regular fries, I opted for sweet potato fries. The portions were a lot smaller than I'd expect for the price. Especially since my meal was $20 and I didn't leave feeling full (when usually I'm someone who always has to take at least some food home). Also, I was charged an additional fee for the sweet potato fries upgrade despite the lack of availability of normal fries to accompany my $16 burger. Perhaps I'm griping on subjective matters such as entitlement to certain quantities of food at restaurants, but our server took our orders without writing anything down and messed up or forgot almost all of them. I asked for garlic aoli instead of mayo for my cheeseburger. My coworker asked for a cheeseburger but got a chicken fried steak. My other coworker asked for a cheeseburger without any vegetables but all of them were on his burger or on the side. Another 2 coworker's orders were almost messed up, but our server came back to double check. Usually I'm not someone who cares about service, but our waiter messed up almost all of our orders and didn't even try to write things down. It wasn't even busy at this time. Overall disappointed in my experience here vegan food or not. I see other reviews here raving about the food and breadth of the menu, but I was left unimpressed.

But I was genuinely surprised by how great the entire experience turned out to be. From the moment we walked in, the service was exceptional. The servers were kind, attentive, and made us feel welcome throughout the meal. The owner even came by our table to talk with us about the restaurant, their values, and the care they put into making everything from scratch. That personal touch, along with a complimentary dessert, really made the experience memorable. The food was outstanding. The chicharrones were perfectly crunchy and seasoned with just the right amount of salt. The salsa tasted incredibly fresh and paired well with everything on the table. The carne asada was cooked beautifully, developing a flavorful crust from the Maillard reaction, which gave it that rich, savory, slightly crisp exterior while keeping the inside tender and juicy. Overall, this was one of those restaurants that completely exceeded my expectations. Between the warm hospitality, attention to detail, and excellent food, it's a place I'll definitely be coming back to. I had dined at Goji Berry years ago, and wanted to try out Earth's menu. There's a good amount to choose from, the burritos looked tempting but I quickly decided on the bbq sandwich ($9.75): pulled seitan in smokey BBQ sauce, coleslaw on a toasty ciabatta bun. I got fries with it ($3.50) to complete my meal. The employee ringing me up was friendly and advised that there would be about a 20 minute wait due to the large group order ahead of me. My friend ordered from Goji and we sat at a table on that side. My food came out in 15 minutes, which went by quickly. The sandwich was loaded up and very saucy, so it was messy eating it. But the flavors were strong and it was yummy. I may get hot sauce next time to kick it up. I enjoyed the fries with ketchup on the side to balance it out. They had samples of their spicy jerky, which was good. They have drinks that looked good but I stuck with my water. Overall I enjoy coming here and getting to eat plant-based food. I had my husband go in to order my usual, and he was told there would now be an extra charge for the meat substitution and cheeze, which is totally fine, no problem there. But then he was told, "if you don't like it, that's on you since you're changing the recipe." That kind of comment completely killed the vibe, and he ended up not ordering. I figured maybe it was just a misunderstanding, so I went in myself the next day to order. Everything was going smoothly until a woman came out of the kitchen to provide that same warning, again emphasizing that if I didn't like it, it would be on me. I understand the upcharge and I completely get that modifications are final sale, that's pretty standard. I've never returned food or had an issue like that before. That said, the repeated warning just felt unnecessary and honestly a bit off-putting. It took away from the overall experience at a place I've always enjoyed. I still got my burrito (and it was great as usual), but just a heads up, if you make any modifications, be prepared for a very firm disclaimer. It might just catch you off guard like it did for me.

Lil Capo Pizzeria 5.0/5 The Closest Thing to New York…read morePizza I've Found in Arizona Growing up in Upstate New York, I admittedly have high standards when it comes to pizza. After moving to Arizona in 2007, I've spent years searching for a slice that genuinely reminds me of home. While there are plenty of decent pizza spots throughout the Valley, very few capture that authentic New York style. Lil Capo Pizzeria absolutely does! Ironically, I first discovered Lil Capo after an Arizona Cardinals game. Like many people, I wasn't interested in paying stadium prices for mediocre food, so I jumped on Yelp looking for something nearby. Lil Capo had outstanding reviews, so we decided to give it a try. I'm glad we did because it's now my benchmark for New York-style pizza in Arizona. The first thing that stood out was the crust. This is exactly what a New York slice should be--thin, crispy on the bottom, slightly chewy inside, sturdy enough to fold, and never overloaded with grease. So many places think "New York style" simply means making a large slice. Lil Capo understands it's really about the balance of crust, sauce, cheese, and texture. Every bite reminded me why I miss pizza back east. The sauce has just the right amount of sweetness and acidity, the cheese is perfectly proportioned, and everything tastes fresh without trying to reinvent what already works. Sometimes simplicity executed well is the hardest thing to accomplish. Pizza: 5/5 Service was equally impressive. The staff was welcoming, friendly, and efficient. After selecting our slices, they quickly reheated them to perfection and had them on our table within minutes. It's exactly what you want from a neighborhood pizzeria--fast, relaxed, and genuinely hospitable. Service: 5/5 I also appreciated the atmosphere. Lil Capo isn't trying to be flashy or trendy. Instead, it has that classic neighborhood pizzeria feel where the focus stays exactly where it should--on making outstanding pizza. It's casual, comfortable, family-friendly, and somewhere you could easily become a regular. The pricing is another pleasant surprise. Considering the quality of the pizza and the generous slice sizes, I found everything to be very fairly priced. Overall Finding authentic New York-style pizza in Arizona has been surprisingly difficult over the years, but Lil Capo delivers exactly what I've been searching for. Authentic New York-style crust Excellent sauce-to-cheese ratio Minimal grease Friendly, efficient service Fair prices Comfortable neighborhood atmosphere I've eaten pizza throughout New York my entire life, and Lil Capo remains the closest I've found to the real thing anywhere in Arizona. Whenever I'm on the west side of the Valley--or heading to or from a Cardinals game--I find myself looking for an excuse to stop in. Next time, I'm skipping the slices and ordering an entire pie. If you're a fellow New Yorker living in Arizona and craving a slice that tastes like home, Lil Capo should be at the top of your list.

While the indoor seating is limited, it's been fairly busy each time I've been. They also offer outdoor seating as well. Overall, I highly recommend this place for its ambiance and delicious food. I will definitely be returning!

This is how I stumbled upon a taco spot that I had no idea existed. I was getting coffee at my…read morefavorite spot, Lola Coffee, when Ana, the server, asked me what we were doing today. She recommended a fantastic vegan spot called Tacos Veganos; and it blow us away. Yes, everything is VEGAN, including the meats! We ordered three different meat tacos: pork, chicken, and beef. I opted for the taco de papo, which was an incredibly delicious combination of potatoes, cabbage, and a sauce made from cashews. It was deep-fried, which added a unique texture to the dish. The chicken taco was my favorite. It was fantastic once I dipped it into the red magic compote. The beef taco had an aftertaste, but that's just a personal preference. Ana, who's a native of Mexico, said the same thing about the tacos. I was skeptical at first, but she was right. These tacos are so good that sometimes the substitute is better than the real thing. I highly recommend trying these tacos at least once. You'll be amazed at how good they are. I'll definitely be back real soon!
