Yelp Review 2026 #191:…read more Brightline connects different parts of Southern Florida to Orlando for under $60 for regular one-way ticket or $110 premium one-way fare. There's a lounge, priority boarding, free food and drinks, comfortable seating onboard, fast-speed wifi, For that, it's convenient to take a train for a little over 3 hours (Miami-Orlando) vs flying. My most recent visit to Brightline Station in Aventura, I was catching a shuttle to go to Hard Rock Stadium aka Miami Stadium for the World Cup. There were two lines. The staff at my line took forever to scan people's tickets that the other line already filled 2 buses! And they were people at the back of the line! There was no shade, no water. Just free alcoholic beverages you have to post on social media. You have to pay for water, sunscreen - basic things they give away for free at other transportation stations in cities that hosted the World Cup! I anticipated you can't catch an Uber from this station after the game. I was right. But the cops were on a total power trip yelling at people "you can't get Uber here!" And the crowd was yelling back at the cops - what a hot mess! The crowd was just walking away from the station so, how did the cops even assume they got Uber?!? LOL.

The City and County do a good job of having connections (Sun Shuttle, BCT [Broward County Transit]) - but a walk downtow will take a good 30 - 45 min. As to the actual station, there's not enough benches... or trash cans. There's also so much anxiety if the train is coming, if you're on the right platform, the trains don't run late enough, and the transit cops can often be... brusque. But it's such a net positive to have rail options (with signage and audio message in three (3!) languages) in this urban-surburban-car-dominated-megaopolis. I support it fully and want MORE investment in stations like this to make it better.

We got off here to get to the Yellow Green Farmer's market and the gate that used to be open (connecting the two) was locked. Some riders decided to jump a fence to get to the Farmer's Market. We opted to find alternate options. First we thought we could walk easily to the market, but the path given by the GPS was not very clear. We finally opted to get a ride share and for about $5 we got to the market. Based on previous reviews, these two were connected at one point, not anymore. Sadly I guess there's a way to walk over if we get out of the station, take a left, walk on the sidewalk along Sheridan, then take a left onto the market parking lot....that whole trek would probably take 20-25 min.

Palmetto has an open parking lot which makes it easier to see what's going around. The security guards are attentive and they have one typically driving around the parking lot with a golf cart. If you need assistance or have questions for the most part they attempt to help you. The bathroom at this station needs so serious remodeling....I hate going in there because no matter how much they try to clean it it doesn't look like it (oh and don't expect paper towels to dry your hands because it seems that's non-existing in this place). Would love it if the metro left on scheduled time but a lot of times that doesn't happen thanks to every other metro being out of service (probably because they're so old). I do enjoy not having to deal with traffic so this is the best way to head to Downtown and nearby areas. Compared to other stations in the north this is probably one of the safest ones. Most people that ride from this station are headed to work, courts, or hospitals.

Although there is a cargo train that runs through interrupting the street to get to the station. -There are hand sanitizing stations Negative: I am absolutely DISGUSTED that there is ONE restroom shared for both men and women. It wasn't like this about 6 months ago! They sealed off the ladies bathroom and made it so only staff could use it. So now the mens is the one that's open to both sexes. First of all, the very thought of using a restroom stall while a man is standing in there at the same time taking a leak at the urinal is atrocious to me. Secondly, it is so damn dangerous that it just drives me NUTS how they could let this happen!!!! Any woman can be raped and no one would even notice!!! Miami-Dade Transit needs to take action and segregate the restrooms once again because this is an active danger to women!!!

The built-in food hall is pretty great, and the fact that it is in a building with other things, rather than the stand alone of the FTL station, made it feel much more integrated into city life. While I did find that Brightline created an unnecessary and undue amount of stress for a short day trip, I understand why this train exists and why people who are traveling. Despite having taken public transit, with the people mover broken, there was no way to leave the station in an environmentally conscious manner. Although on paper the walk to the Perez Museum doesn't seem too long, it is an unshaded route passing a mess of abandoned lots, construction, heavy traffic, and many unpleasantries that were very, very sad to observe. We had to wait in line with other people all ordering Lyfts and Ubers. Returning to the station was also difficult, trying to catch a ride in city traffic and worrying about missing the return train.

Like any big city, you do need to use your common sense when taking the train. Still and all, with the growth Miami has experienced in the last few years, it is certainly getting better. There are a nice amount of apartments, bars, restaurants and shops right next to the Brickell stop. The Brickell station also connects to the Metromover, which puts downtown and the Edgewater area a short ride and definitely cheaper than an rideshare. Walk a few blocks down the Underline Park under the tracks, and you're in the Coral Way / Roads area as well. Case in point, this last Friday night I was able to enjoy my Elite Experience Burger at Burgermeister (2 blocks away), run an errand on Coral Way and jump on the Metrorail (30 minute wait at that time) to the station closest my house and uber over.
