Great team, service and thrilled with my results. Came in for a consultation and ended up deciding on the BBL facial. Procedure is relatively painless compared to laser treatments I have had in the past. Dr was great at communicating during the entire appointment from before we started to in between switching the lights and in between zaps. Recovery downtime for me was very short. While I was aware the spots on my face were darker before they peeled I was fine with going out in public. I'll be coming back for this treatment with the team here again. read more

I came here for a tattoo removal. When I called to make an appointment they were able to get me in the same day, which was great. I have a number of tattoos I want I remove, but right now I'm focusing on 2 that are more visible. The staff was super friendly. And accommodating with my needs and my budget. I was actually able to do my first session right after my consult. They didn't sugar coat it either, which I appreciated. They said it would hurt, but it was very fast. I was really stressing out during the 30 minutes that I waited for the numbing cream to kick it. Not going to lie, it was indeed more painful than the actual tattoo was. But it wasn't as bad as I had built up in my mind. Afterward the smaller tattoo on my ankle felt fine. But the larger one on my back was extremely uncomfortable. Felt like the worst sunburn on my life for a couple hours. It's the next day now. My tattoos are still covered in the dressing, but I'll update the review after more time. If I remember. read more

In my first review I was trying my best to stay away from saying what was really going down, but here it goes... This place is hella discriminatory for a "Doctors office" in San Luis Obispo. When running a business it's critical to take into consideration people from all different walks of life. Weather you are poor, rich, have black hair, or blond, no one should ever feel less than the person that they are. But, because of my previous review (which was anonymous, but it wasn't difficult to figure out it was me I guess so I owned up to it.) they took it upon themselves to claim to issue me a partial refund (which was never received so they basically "mugged" me, lol. They emotionally punched me in the face and realistically stole my money. What a bunch.) and deny me further service even after opening up with the nurse, Emerald about my feelings towards the receptionist. She simply did not care about my concerns in regards to the discrimination at all, and even though I was still interested in services, I was denied . With that being said, you have a lot of choices for reputable DO's in SLO, and I'm pretty sure that with enough research you can find someone who won't deny you service just because of who you are, or what you look like, or even if they just plain don't like you as a person. Edit: I'm also pretty sure that they're going to come back at me with some type of "I'm sorry that we did not meet your expectations...blah, we felt...." but bottom line is: That instead of trying to resolve the issue, it was just easier and big headed of you to do it this way instead. That alone speaks volumes, specifically of intolerance. Also, when being denied service It was "When running a business and getting a bad review...blah, blah." Well Emerald, I know that you think that I am second class and all, and thank you for telling me how to run a business, because like I am not so smart right? The look on your face tells me everything, and you think less of me. Is it because I'm from ghetto Santa Maria? lol. I went to college, and actually graduated in business management, lol. Open canvas is THE place for a med spa and laser treatments. I went there yesterday for my very first appointment for laser hair removal. The place is beautiful. Emerald, at the front desk, is also a RN. Her husband is the doctor. They were both so so so nice. Took the time to review everything with me and make sure all questions were answered. I was very nervous for my actual laser treatment and Emerald made me so comfortable and really walked me through the whole thing. So much less painful than I had anticipated as well. My first laser tattoo removal treatment went great, it was almost completely gone. The second treatment made the tattoo darker than it had ever been. I reached out to the office and after emailing back and forth with the nurse about if it was darker or not (clearly it was) they finally agreed to take another look at it. They offered a complimentary treatment which again made the tattoo darker. I never went back and never will. I've had to seek removal treatment else where for a tattoo they made darker which was the opposite of the goal at hand. read more
