It was good enough for us to add nutrition to our stomachs with no complaints. The Motown '59 show was surprisingly delightful! We didn't know what to expect. Stephens is genuinely a nonstop entertainer, but he periodically stopped long enough for others to shine. Our party of 7 enjoyed the show, which included a lot of comedy and laughter!

Now I have no idea why this is called Theatre of The Republic, when on the front of the building it says Main Street Theatre, but anyways. It is a small theater that does different shows like this one, broadway shows, and more! They do have both a balcony and a lower level. For this show, we were on the lower level, with great views of the stage. Now, onto reviewing this show: First and foremost, a lot of slow christmas songs, and back to back too. If it was me, I would do a slow song, then do a fast paced song. For their song selection: they did "Zis That You Santa Claus", from Frosty The Snowman, to Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas, some Misses Clauses song which I never heard before, Do You Hear What I hear, and many songs that are either old or I haven't heard before. Oh, about the Misses Clauses Songs- What about the Misses Claus song from A year Without A Santa Claus, where she tries on the Santa Suit? A favorite was definitely Zis That You Santa Claus, Frosty The Snowman, Seasons of Love, and Favorite Time Of The Year. They did have some song about Christmas trees, but Make a point about real christmas trees with songs like " Christmas Tree Farm" by Taylor Swift, where she reminses about her family getting a live christmas tree from her hometown. Also, a few more modern songs added would be cool. Oh, and one other feedback- for instance I have heard songs like Winter Wonderland be sung as a duet, and I think that would be cool. They did have one duet song that i didn't know though.Oh, and well- i'm not super religious so I personally didn't really like the christian songs chosen- and do have a suggestion- "Joy To The World (A Christmas Prayer)" by Nicholas Jonas, which is a Christian song about hope and for all people who suffered harm, and it's a prayer to make them better. If you can do this song It would be amazing! However overall it was a good show. Choosing songs can be tough during Christmas time because there is many songs to choose from- Modern to Oldies, to new classics! And If young people attend the show, they can learn the Older songs too! I personally think though that this show may be more for older adults, but again maybe it's also that I didn't know much of the songs that were sung. But, Would definitely be back for another show, and maybe an audition eventually! (I Love to Sing!)

In the days leading up to the show, a member of my household became ill. I understand the tickets are listed as "no refunds or exchanges," but I still reached out to explain the situation. While the staff was polite, they refused to offer any accommodation. I wasn't asking for a refund, only the option to attend on a different night. Refusing to show any flexibility or compassion when someone is sick, while still keeping the full payment, reflects poorly on the business. This would be a simple policy adjustment, but they choose not to make it. I won't be spending my money here again due to their inflexibility.

So it happens to be that I was off that day, and figured why not go? After all- tickets were only 48.00, max 58.00. Anyways So went here on Sunday June 28 2026 to see Feeling 22: A Tribute to Taylor Swift. brought our tickets online, and picked them up at will call. Pleasant people all around. Saw both elderly people and people my age who were dancing and singing all the Taylor Swift songs! Loved the band and loved the show, as I was singing along, after every word. There were parts where I couldn't understand, but that happens sometimes, even with other artists. Amber and her band Feeling 22 did amazing! Would totally be back if there was another show with her! Keep more like this coming- i'd love a boy band tribute show, Taylor Swift, 90's show, and Jonas Brothers, and more!

The four lead vocalists were pretty, handsome, animated, and accomplished singers. Apparently thanks to the Dance Captain, Molly, the dancing was absolutely energetic and flawless. Sitting in the front row, it was easy to see that the costumes of the dancers and singers looked gorgeous and classy. A very nice, cozy venue with comfortable seats. Four of us (all adults) were vacationing in N Myrtle…read moreBeach, SC, and were considering going to one of the many evening shows that are offered in this tourist town. It was challenging to agree upon a show as two of our guests were international visitors, and were less familiar with the English-language lyrics of popular American songs. We decided upon the ICONIC show, because it was described as a family-friendly musical variety show. My husband and I twisted arms a bit as we were familiar with the theatre having visited there years ago to see a different show ("One"). The ICONIC show was high energy, featuring a cast of highly talented musicians, dancers, a comedian, and even aerialists. The show featured country hits, classic rock anthems, Broadway favorites, and pop ballads, all professionally choreographed and with frequent costume changes. Stunt comedian Max Winfrey, who was featured on America's Got Talent, provided comedic relief between sets. The show was about two hours of non-stop entertainment. All four of us, even our international guests, enjoyed it. The Alabama Theatre, founded in 1993, was clean and comfortable, with excellent acoustics. The temperature in the venue was comfortable in late September. We were in orchestra seats (section B, row 5), but there wasn't a bad seat in the house. The theatre is in Barefoot Landing, where patrons could avail themselves to pre-show dinners or shopping. Parking is free and plentiful. Our orchestra tickets were $54.95 each, including taxes and fees. They do not offer senior, military, AAA or AARP discounts. (We did see a brochure that advertised a summer special wherein 2 kids aged 16 and under are allowed per paid adult). No refunds or exchanges are allowed. Our rating for the experience is 4.5, rounded up to 5.0. A few minor things prevented a true 5.0 rating. (1) Upon entering, we were unknowingly directed to table where the gentleman tried to sign us up for a timeshare presentation at Wyndham Resorts; and (2) some of the actors seemed uncomfortable in the costumes and were seemingly "just going through the motions" in some of the later musical selections, especially the Under the Sea/Ariel and Aladdin ones. We would visit the Alabama Theatre again when next in the N. Myrtle Beach area.

The employee came at me three different times trying to intimidate me in front of security being very aggressive.
