We went here based on the recommendation of the teenage cashier at cosmic candy down the street and it was PERFECT!!! We had 8 hungry sunburned people (4of those teens) in our party. The service was quick and friendly. I ordered the bacon macaroni & cheese on her recommendations and I was in heaven (they used REAL bacon!!). Everyone had food left on their plate due to large portions as well! I would definitely eat here again! read more

Ate here for the first time on our first visit to silver lake. Staff was very nice, however servers seemed very rushed like they could have used another person. Started w/ fried cauliflower, came out almost 5 min after we ordered and it was awesome. Took a while for our main course. Noticed a few tables who had come in after had already been served and we're done eating. No big deal. Really. As far as food, two of us had lobster rolls and they were perfect. Wife had the steak and it was real thin, very hard to cook it medium. Overall were happy. Was going to leave 4 stars until I saw 2 waitresses clean the tables and they both sprayed their concoction all over the salt and pepper shakers instead of moving them off. read more

We had been looking forward to trying this place for a while and finally got around to bringing our family over to try it. However, the manager was incredibly rude to us upon our arrival and we didn't stay long enough to order, let alone eat. We requested a 6-top for our family of four as we have a toddler who needs a high chair & we also have a wheelchair. Even though the restaurant was nearly empty, when we asked the manager for a 6-top, she scoffed at us and said, "Oh no, we can't do that!!" She promptly directed us to a cramped 4-top which was incredibly tight and was absolutely not going to work. Even though we asked again and requested some special consideration since the place was nearly empty and we had a toddler and family member with a physical disability, she made it clear that we were getting no consideration whatsoever. After trying to accept our lot and sitting uncomfortably for a few minutes, we decided that eating at this restaurant was a choice that we were not going to make after being treated so rudely. Mediocre at best. Better than some of the options in town. Pretty sure the wet burrito sauce doubles as the spaghetti sauce. Weirdest spaghetti ever. Food came out cold. Mashed potatoes are super dry. Chicken was rubbery- obviously frozen. If you have no other option than the sand castle go here, but you're better off at McDonald's. read more

I can't believe this restaurant gets a good review. The food was awful!! The gourmet macaroni and cheese was awful, you couldn't eat the French fries, the cheese sticks were more like cream cheese or some fake cheese not mozzarella. Salmon was terrible. The salad was good. I'm really just disappointed in myself that I paid the $60 bill!! read more

We have been dining at this restaurant for 10 years under the previous ownership. Tonight was our first night under the new ownership. The restaurant was very busy with several large groups. While we were told the kitchen was busy, we waited over an hour for our food. We had ordered drinks, ice tea and some onion rings. We also got a side salad and cole slaw that came with our meals. After waiting an hour and after being told several times that our order would be right up, we decided to leave. I'm assuming the lady we talked with was the new owner. When I told her we were going to leave, she was upset we were leaving and very rude to us. Instead of offering to comp us for all or some of the costs of what we'd received, she charged us $17 for our drinks, the onion rings, and for that price, probably side order charges for our salad and cole slaw. Her excuse was the large groups and how busy they were and made us to feel it was our fault we weren't understanding of her situation. When we left, we told her she'd lost our business and she responded that there were very busy and didn't need our business. We won't be going back to that restaurant again. read more

Despite being only one of two couples in the entire restaurant, the service was pretty lousy and we had to wait a long time for our food to arrive. Our waitress never checked to see if we wanted anything (another beverage, ketchup etc) and the food was way, way, way overpriced. We will not be eating here again. Of course there aren't very many good restaurants in the area so the bar isn't set very high. Did I mention how overpriced the food is? read more

Just happened to drive by the sign for this place when we were all hungry and in need of lunch. We were seated promptly, drink orders taken and delivered. We had the lobster roll which was delish, the steak sandwich-ribeye on Texas toast with grilled onion and Swiss cheese that was amazing, the BLT-bacon cooked to perfection, onion rings were hand battered and perfect. The 12 year old even spilled beer all over the table and seat which they were very helpful and kind while cleaning it up. Service was great, servers very nice. read more

Excellent food at a good price. And I think it's the only place in the area to have a cocktail with dinner. We were staying at the state park and it took about 5-10 mintues to get there - so it's really close. I had a steak that was prepared exactly how I wanted it, and my wife had an excellent Caesar Salad (we traded bites). The service was excellent, with our waitress being responsive when our son (4 yrs old) decided he didn't want his grilled cheese. She came back with Mac and cheese within about 5 minutes, and the little wax straw things they have to keep the kids busy work better than the usual coloring pages you usually get. All in all, even though like the previous person said, the dining room is quite large, it has a pretty good feel, especially with quality of the food for the price and the excellent service. read more

The Saturday breakfast buffet was absolutely a poor and overpriced buffet at $10.99. Scrambled eggs (somewhat dry), American fries, biscuits and gravy, pancakes, ham and bacon, a bowl of fruit medley (chunks of melon and pineapple with blueberries and a smattering of strawberries), a small bowl of crushed strawberries (for the pancakes?), mini pieces of lemon bread and another mini bread (flavor unknown), some granola in a bowl and some yogurt in a bowl, and finally boxed cereal (no milk). Beverage not included in the price. No sweet rolls, no toast, no bagels, no oatmeal, no hand held fruit like bananas, apples or pears, no other egg choices, no waffles. Motels offer a better selection than that and it's free with a room. Also, ordering from the menu was not an option. We should have walked out after looking at the choices on the buffet table. So not worth the price. Also, service was poor. Waitress only had to keep watch on beverages for refills, since we did everything else ourselves. But, alas, she didn't bother after the first couple of checks on the coffee cups. Then nothing; no checks on water, etc, even though the restaurant was not busy. read more
