This is a small theater company in a small space, but the experience is always a big deal. The work is well done, the cast members in the several productions I've seen are so talented. The shows are original works and include drama and comedy -- often with music. This past weekend I saw "Survivors of the Fire," which was about the great Hinkley fire. Really a creative and well done show. A memorable experience. Upcoming shows are "Till Death," and "Joyful Noise." If you're looking for a really sweet and different date night and enjoy small theater and original story telling, grab a seat here! This company lives and breaths this stuff. They even run kids theater camps in the summer. Online ticket ordering is easy, parking is close and on the street. Every production begins with free treats and coffee in the lower level will-call area. The best part is you get to support small theater, relevant storytelling, and an original experience.

Parking is all street parking, so it can be a challenge on a busy night to find a close spot. After the shows I've been to, the actors all line up to say hello and sign your program. Madagascar today was our 4th show and we went a group of almost 40 people. The group discount rate is amazing and it's fun to go enjoy a show with a group of friends. FREE parking ramp super close to the Stages Theatre which is very nice. They also have lap child passes for $5/kid (age 4 and under) for younger kids who want to sit in the lap of an adult vs having their own seats. Highly recommend checking out shows here!

Seats are comfortable and have good leg room and not really a bad seat in the place. I also love the addition of the concert hall for smaller events. Staff are always helpful and friendly. The bars always do a fun drink that rotates for the show at the time. Do yourself a favor and pre-order a drink for intermission if you plan to have refreshments at that time. The one drawback here is parking. The ramps aren't super close (although, they're within an easy walk) and street parking in this area is always chaos, so give yourself plenty of time before your show to find space. If you haven't had the chance to enjoy and event here, get yourself to the Ordway!

It's definitely my preferred theater in the Cities!…read more Parking is a bit of a toss-up...here are my go-tos: hope for a miracle and get street parking, pay a little more and get a spot in a nearby garage, get a bite beforehand at the St. Paul Grill and use their Valet :) The space itself is very modern and clean! I actually like that it is updated and not a "historic" theater. You don't have steep staircases, old bathrooms, or impossibly tight leg room! Tickets are usually reasonably priced, and my favorite "cheat code" is to buy the "limited view" seats in the front corners, as they are significantly discounted, and often only have a minimal disruption in the view. Staff is always friendly and excited to welcome you to the show! They have snacks, coffee, and alcoholic drinks available for purchase, but often frown upon you bringing it into the theater with you, so plan ahead and get there before the show to enjoy!

John Heimbuch's rendition of Sleepy Hollow as a comedy is worth every penny of the admission price. Due to popular demand, they added another show for this upcoming Sunday. Anyhow, back to Red Eye - it's a tiny little theatre space, tucked in behind several restaurants at the south end of Downtown. Not quite Loring Park, not quite Steven's Square, not quite Downtown...it's an interesting part of town, and not one that you would expect to find a little performance space hiding in. As others have mentioned, parking is a bear in this area. If you're lucky enough to snag a meter as someone else is leaving, you're golden. If you're on the flip side of the parking coin, you'll end up parking several blocks away (like we did this past weekend) and hoofing it back. This would be a great Fringe venue, and I hope to see more productions here soon. I've seen several of WSTC's shows, but not much of anyone else's work. It's a neat little space, and totally worth a visit.

We had had a terrible experience trying to deal with a different company originally and we ended up having to find another company and I am so so glad we found the Mystery Cafe. First off, Brian, who is the owner, was just fantastic all around, responsive, accommodating, kind, and organized. The night of the actual performance, I did not feel nervous at all, he and I had communicated multiple times and also already tested all of the electronics weeks prior to the event, it went off without a hitch. It was fun because it did require audience participation, but it was not too high pressure and they made the atmosphere just so light and exciting and it was FUNNY! There was so much humor and I found myself laughing a lot more than I had thought that I would. 10/10 would recommend. They came to our event, there were 3 actors and I must say, I think that the cost was very fair and reasonable. Great time!

It was lovely and the seats were amazing. It was a great opportunity to go and see something different a little outside of your standard Friday nights events. Each dance did a fantastic job and they even had a male who was on toe, quite impressive. I would recommend this to any couple / family as a great outing. I have also heard they have children performances where the kids and come and go as needed throughout to make it easier on the little ones, what a great idea!

For the past three years I have not missed a local performance and each time I leave I have that feeling of "wow!" This is what I take from the performances: Classical ballet foundations applied to contemporary art, cultural and social issues, human ironies, imagination, humor, beauty, and the search for meaning. I know that sounds really intense, but it is an intense experience! I highly, highly recommend attending a performance. They also have special performances for families with children. Most performances are at St. Catherine University and tickets can be purchased online or at the box office. Student/senior/child discounts are available.
